“Dunno what happened to Luxembourg. Never saw him. 3 quick races too much? Or ground?”
Or maybe that’s as good as he is.
After all, he’s confirmed Leopardstown form with Onesto and Vadeni was unlucky in that race. Might be worth dropping Luxembourg to a mile and a quarter next season- Tattersalls Gold Cup, Prince Of Wales, Eclipse, Juddmonte, Irish Champion and then Champion would be my route for him.
Wonder if the lads need a race planner? 🤔
October 2, 2022 at 16:45 #1616855Some of those that sat right off the pace were always going to struggle to make up that advantage in that ground (unless the front ones really overdid it, the Japanese horse paid for it big time but Broome must be given credit as he went with him and finishd 8th while Alpinista and Al Hakeem were the ones that sat closest to the pace and potentially could be marked up for their performances).
I would be inclined to give those that were more out the back another chance but I haven’t really been a fan of Luxembourg (incidently he finished 7th just behind Westover beaten about 7L) and I didn’t think the Irish Champion was as strong as some thought given the heap they finished in…..however as I said before Vadeni really did surprise me with his run as to me his Irish run didn’t scream to me that he would want another 2F especially in those conditions he could be one for the BC Turf on quicker ground.

October 2, 2022 at 17:07 #1616865Not that it’s like Coolmore to make excuses.
Off to stud it is, then.

Thank goodness for that – I was worried they’d had one beaten on merit for a minute.
Balance is restored to the universe.

October 2, 2022 at 18:01 #1616891LD – you took the exact words out of my mouth by referring to Luke as being agricultural but I’ve got to give him a huge amount of credit for that ride, he definitely was Cool Hand Like.

October 3, 2022 at 12:52 #1616971Yes vadeni ran much better than he did in the Irish champion
I think I misunderstood connections intentions with him
Because they picked out the Irish champion very early as his next race I assumed he would be primed for it
But that doesn’t seem to have been the intention, they picked it out as the perfect prep race for his main autumn target whether that was going to be this or ascot.
Hopefully he stays in training.
October 3, 2022 at 22:16 #1617064Interesting that there is a plan for her to go for the Japan Cup as she is up for the £3m bonus of winning the Grand Prix de Saint Clould/Japan Cup and another £3m bonus for doing the Arc/Japan Cup
double. Can understand not wanting to pass up a tilt at the payday and being the last Sunday in November she does have plenty of time to recover from Sunday’s exertions. Would imagine Titleholder would be a much more serious threat back on home turf.
October 3, 2022 at 22:52 #1617066No chance FF, absolutely not a chance they used the irish champion as a prep race, flying your horse to ireland and back to run for two minutes when the race your “prepping” for is at home isnt a thing
They could have trained 3-4 together round longchamp on the day of the arc as his “prep race” which would have had the same effect
Hes just better over 1m4 at home is the more simplistic answer

I suppose so but given Kirsten Rausing’s reported wealth, would she even notice another £6 million in her bank account?
October 5, 2022 at 19:27 #1617469Well, I certainly didn’t expect the race to pan out like it did for Alpinista – certainly not swinging on the Billy Idol two furlongs out. Have to feel a bit got TT as the draw was probably his undoing. Absolutely chuffed that for once one of my ante-post longshot copped for a change (shameless aftertime klaxon, was on at 100s down to 60s on the machine). Got a decent looking treble with Constitution Hill and Allaho and a more audacious one with Bear Ghylls and Ahoy Senor to keep me hoping for the next few months.
October 5, 2022 at 22:34 #1617487CAS – According to Wiki, she was listed as the 150th richest individual in the world in the Forbes 2020 list of The World’s Billionaires.
So while she isn’t hurting in the financial stakes
, £6m worth of basically free money would go a long way to financing her breeding operation for a while without having to fund it from your own pocket. - AuthorPosts
