Tuesday 10th
PARIS BELL 4.15 Pontefract
Excused his previous Newcastle run in bottomless conditions he should be able to be competitive here off a rating of 73.
1pt e/w 16/1 Skybt and bt365.

PARIS BELL never figured.
Bank=89pts
P/L = -11ptsJuly 10, 2007 at 19:22 #107197Both Bond Cruz 16’s and Turn Card 25’s in the 8.10 at Uttoexter may be capable of placing.
I shall Treble up E/w on both with Point 8’s in the 8.40 and Hum 10’s in the 9.10 both at Uttoxeter.
July 11, 2007 at 11:51 #107319SHMOOKH Newmarket 2.00
Forgiven his poor showing at RAscot over 1m and expecting this trip to show him in a far better light.
1pt e/w 16/1 Lads
——————————————————————————————————————————————-
SHMOOKH travelled well getting competitive 2f out took it up there after holding on to win by a neck.

URBAN SPIRIT Newmarket 4.55
There can’t be too many maidens that have banked £200k+ and Jack Junior is a worthy favourite. The selection is expected to fill a placeand is an e/w bet to nothing.
1pt e/w 7/1 Lads Skybt

URBAN SPIRIT won by a neck despite hanging right across to far rail. 25p R4

P/L = +15.3July 11, 2007 at 12:06 #107323Waveline hits me at a decent price (around 20/1) in the Cherry HInton. Worth a little bit EW – not too much.
She fell out of the stalls in the Albany and Jimmy Fortune lost an iron – she was beaten around six lengths. If all goes well at the start this time she should finish a lot closer to You’resothrilling. The dryer ground will be in her favour and she comes from the yard that won this two years ago with Donna Blini.
Today’s racing is tough – but that only means there’s more value.
Not overly confident today. Just a small EW double. 3* / 5
13.30 – Tarteel
14.00 – Express WishNot exactly an original bet that’s going to make you rich!!
I strongly fancy Nannina for the Falmouth – but it’s a good, competitive race and not one I’d rush into.
SHMOOKH Newmarket 2.00
Forgiven his poor showing at RAscot over 1m and expecting this trip to show him in a far better light.
1pt e/w 16/1 LadsA good shout.

July 11, 2007 at 16:57 #107391I’m scaring myself now.

No I didn’t double them up.

No I didn’t double them up.
Great double. You didn’t double them up? Hard luck. I hope you were on them as singles.
I was up in the first with Tarteel but missed out on my double when Express Wish ran a stinker in the second. I went for Nosedas’s horse over Shmookh based on their previous runs.
I missed out backing Waveline in the HInton – lucky me – reluctant to load and another slow start. A talented horse but she obviously has her quirks.
Simply Perfect did the job for me in the Falmouth…
July 12, 2007 at 08:14 #107485I’ve been looking through today’s Newmarket card and while I don’t fancy anything very strongly, one price stood out.
In the 2.35 HABALWATAN is forecast at 40/1 in the RP.(130 on Betfair to a small amount)
This horse ran well in the Dee Stakes at Chester(in a very good time) and then finished well beaten in the Italian Derby and a Royal Ascot listed race.
If the Chester form is any good – and the time says it was – then 40/1 today in this very decent handicap is too big.July 12, 2007 at 11:22 #107507Morning all
Not really one for backing at odds against let alone at double figures. But this week has been about trying new things and getting lucky so here goes.
Newmarket 2.00 – King’s Icon 20/1
Left debut running behind when comfortably winning a Goodwood maiden which in itself is working out well. He looks like the only frontrunner in the field so he should be able to run his race as he pleases and also has a set of balls on him. Stable is in good enough form and though this will be the fastest ground he’s encountered, there’s no reason he shouldn’t act on it on paper. Massive price for a horse that will give you a run.2pts e/w
July 12, 2007 at 11:51 #107516…and from the same stable, Shahin should not be the price he is, through Ivy Creek. Might not win, but it shouldn’t be 33/1 on bf when Ivy Creek is around 5’s.
There was nothing in it at Goodwood and Ponte on softish ground did not suit the Tregoning horse who has always been highly regarded.
(Whatever the outcome, I would lay Sixties Icon for my entire bank if I had the bottle to do so. The most overrated horse in the Isles has to carry a penalty for an ancient defeat of reluctant plodder The Last Drop, and comes back from a disastrous run at Epsom).
Oh, and nice double btw Heffo. I only just realised this was a public thread
July 12, 2007 at 12:01 #107517Morning, everyone.
My TV tips for the day (for what they’re worth).
13.30 – Wing Express (win)
14.00 – King’s Icon (ew)
14.35 – Man Of Vision (ew)
15.10 – Sixties IconSorry I haven’t got time to explain my selections – time’s short. Totally agree with the previous member regarding King’s Icon. My accumulative bet will include Papal Bull (ew) instead of Sixties Icon. Similar to yesterday, not overly confident – always a sign when I’m tipping ew.
2* / 5
July 12, 2007 at 13:29 #107532About time more members got involved in this thread, I think it’s great fun trying to find big price winners. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that you dont have to get too many right at fancy prices to turn a profit, that’s not to say it’s easy for it sure ain’t.
Why don’t ye try and keep track of your PROFITS so we can get a bit of competition going?

GREMLIN Newmarket 2.35
A wide open handicap, the selection ran well at Newbury over 1m3f gd/sft and is only 3lb higher today with trip and ground more suited.
1pt e/w 20/1 Lads, Bt365.
Never figured.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
CURTAIL Newmarket 4.55
Twice a winner at 2yo including an Ayr listed race.Forget his 3yo career, he has shown signs recently of a return to form and is given a small squeek.
1pt e/w 16/1 Btfrd
Held up, ran on for 4th, beaten 1 3/4Ls
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
UNREACHABLE STAR Warwick 5.15
Staying on after being slightly out paced on seasonal debut over 1m2f gd/fm at Newbury. Should appreciate step up to 11 furlongs. A first run on ground with give is the unknown factor. Quite fancy this one.
2.5pts e/w 8/1 gen. available.
Ran well. Beaten by a neck in 2nd.

BEST PROSPECT Newmarket 4.55
Won this race last year under similar conditions. 8lb higher in the ratings this year but I feel he could still go close.
1pt e/w at s.p due to non runners
Held every chance 2fs out, well beaten.

P/L = +15.8July 14, 2007 at 14:01 #107860PELICAN PRINCE Ascot 3.25
Beaten 8 1/2Ls last time but far more suitable ground today and may go close.
1pt win 7/1 Btfred
Took it up at the 1f pole, held on to win by a hd.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
LITTLE EDWARD Ascot 4.35
Was behind 3 of todays rivals last week at Sandown. However that was first run for 7months and should be sharper for it. Conditions to suit.
1pt e/w 16/1 Btfred, Bt365
Never figured, beaten 8ls.

P/L = +20.8ptsJuly 14, 2007 at 19:54 #107898Nice one with Pelican, Heffo.
But what’s this? 13/2. Turning into a favourite backer are we?
July 15, 2007 at 22:39 #108043Lol Max.
Gis a break mate. 7/1 in a 9 runner race that’s surely an outsider…isn’t it?
No your right. I should hang my head in shame for suggesting winners at that price….oh the embarassment.
