Yesterday Del Burgess, the inventor of this system, announced two filters to this system.

    1) No bet if forecast price is greater than 5/1
2) No bet if forecast price is odds on.

Not suggesting that this thread changes its selection but just thought you might wish to be informed.

    Regards

    Hi RexWayne
Thanks for the info I dont read that forum a lot so I missed the post. If nobody objects I will use the new rules which means Scholarship would not have been a selection. By the way Del is useing the online R.P. forcast not SP.

That means one out of one today at 8/11

This is interesting. Bricoman has been running virtually this system since early March and the results have murdered the original 5/4.

He uses SP and only bets odds against, he showed 32 times the profit of the 5/4 in May with less than 40% of the outlay.

The selections are still the 5/4 of course but this Evens or Better variation is definitely the way to go.

Hope you don’t mind me singing his praises but he’s much too modest to do it himself.

He has a lot of analysis for past performance of the 5/4 too, that shows how well E or B would have performed as a filter alongside 5/4 selections.

    Hi Guys

Would add my support to the evens + debate, as mentioned earlier in this thread I have only been backing odds against selections. I went through all the selections back to 2001 and found their were a couple of losing months. These were very small a couple of points at most. As with Dels message the profit figures are 95 pts with this system (averaging about 7 per month).

There is a slight problem with this in that you have to watch the market as quite a few horses hoover around the evens market. I have made a few mistakes with this and ALL have lost  .

The revised process of RP forecast pricing may well be useful. What I will do is look back over the past couple of months to see the difference between forecast RP and actual SP. I have only been saving all the required data to my computer for the last couple of months unfortunately, so cant go back further. At least it will give us an idea of how effective this can be. It would certainly make life easier if we could use RP forecasts.

Interestingly yesterday went in fav of the RP and me doing SP went against.

One final bit of info you may find useful. If you look at all the evens SP horses they have made now a slight lose of 2pts over the last 15 months of recorded data. Therefore I may well use 11/10 or 6/5 and greater as my filters, just to make sure I avoid those odds on shots!

Will be on later tonight with analysis.

    Good luck

    Alternative to AM

I am not sure of any alternative to AM at the moment but working on it. However the other 4 critera are very unlikely to change in the near future.

I am more than happy to look through the last 2 months and see the results of just using the 4 filters for evening racing, as I said in previous post I can only do this to the beginning of April. If anybody has already done this then please let me know, or I will start tonight.

Any other ideas, filters, criteria please let me know and I will happily go through the data.

    Look forward to your thoughts

    Hi everyone,

I have and will be using the the Evens or Better method and I see no reason to change at this stage of the proceedings. I always take the SP price to be sure that it is the required odds and I put my bet on during the last five minutes before the off using my WAP phone.

    Trust me ….it works.

    Hi Ray,

Just checked the selection and it dosn’t have a Top Speed figure – that makes it a rejection.
