Not sure what you mean by 5 lengths to the beast but assuming you mean Battassh, I think Lady Aurelia beats him by 4 lengths.

    Why 4 lengths, MOM?

Lady Aurelia beat Profitable 3 lengths in the King’s Stand.
Marsha only a head away in 3rd, call it a total of 3.1 lengths away from Lady A.
Take Cover beaten a total of just over 4 3/4 lengths by Lady A in 5th.

Battaash beat Profitable 2 1/4 lengths in the King George.
Marsha beaten a total of 3 lengths by Battaash.
Take Cover was beaten a total of 3 3/4 lengths.

On “form” the two should surely be separated by no more than a length?

Just a prediction. No stats involved but just a prediction.

    Going with my gut

I went for Washington DC at 25’s Ante-Post, and that is proving a very shrewd call by myself, as he is now as low as 25’s.

Really like this horse, and I’d settle for him filling the spot behind the big 2, but I do think he can surprise here.

I’m going for a shock result in this one Ginge and have backed Washington DC each way at 20/1.
I can’t believe he is this price. Know he has been well beaten by Baattash, The Lady at Royal Ascot and by Marsha twice but his last race run at The Curragh was quite impressive and I think the penny might have finally dropped for him…This is the time of year when AOB gets his act together and from the first day I saw Washington DC at Newmarket when he was beaten by Marsha I thought he looked a horse for later in the season. It’s a big ask against the mighty Battaash but at 20/1 just have to back him. :rose: Jac

Sorry Bobby, I must have been typing that out as you posted..LOL
Well at least we’re both in the same boat and well done with your shrewd 25/1 ;-)
Can’t believe they will let Washington DC go off at such a big price..good luck :rose: Jac

I did Battaash Ante Post before he won the last time, without checking I think it was 10/1 so I’ll definitely be cheering him home.

I just went on Paddy Power Bobby and he was 25/1 so I had a bit more on, either speculative or stupid I’ll find out tomorrow.

Good luck with Battaash Nathan that’s a brilliant price AP 10/1.
It’s going to be a cracker of a race.

One more thing.. 6/4 joint favourites is absolute nonsense. Lady Aurelia has blitzed everything she’s run against including top sprinters who reoppose like Marsha. The only time she was beaten was over 6f when she just didn’t stay. She led by 6 lengths with a furlong to go and got beat as she just faded at the line.

Battaash is a horse I’m a fan of. But there is absolutely no way whatsoever he deserves to be joint favourite with some bookies. He’s won a group 3 and a group 2 (albeit inpressively) and suddenly he’s the same price as the quickest horse I’ve ever seen. Nonsense pricing.

The fact she was allowed to go off at 3/1 for the Kings Stand was crazy but for punters to potentially allow it to happen again where she goes off too big is bonkers in my opinion.

For me, she’s a 8/13 or 4/7 price and Battaash is then 9/4 or 5/2.

Lady A doesn’t get the credit she deserves I think.

Though if she wins brilliantly again tomorrow, everybody will say ‘wow – what a machine’ but then look to find something to beat her next time.

On all form, she’s surely an odds on poke?

For what it’s worth though, if she wasn’t in the race, I would have Battaash at something like 10/11 as I do like the horse. I just think that expecting him to give 3 lbs to a superstar and still be the same 6/4 price is crazy.

If he beats her fair and square tomorrow, I’ll come on here and admit to looking silly.

It’s a good thing that you mentioned Marsha.

Lady Aurelia beat Marsha by 3¼ lengths at Ascot while being 5lbs better off at the weights.

Battaash beat Marsha by 3 lengths in the group 2 at Goodwood while carrying equal weight. Technically speaking, it was a group 2 but Battaash beat the same 2 horses that Lady Aurelia beat in a group 1 and by a similar margin i.e Marsha and Profitable.

Today, Lady Aurelia is going to be only 2lbs better off than Marsha and 3lbs better off than Battaash. The form lines of Lady Aurelia and Battaash are very close and lady Aurelia’s advantage at the weights is going to be reduced marginally. So, it makes sense why both of them are being offered at similar odds.

Can anyone point me in the direction of odds being offered on either Battaash or Lady Aurelia to win.

The only other viable option might be to put the reverse forecast on with betfair pricing it up as 5/4. I’ve just got that horrible feeling though that one of these two will meet some trouble e.g. Very slow out the stalls.

I can’t see them burning each other out though with two very experienced jocks on board.

The weights worry me for lady aurelia, she has less of a swing with profitable than she did last time, less overall against the field

Battash hammered profitable getting 3lbs lady aurelia did the same getting 9, much different weights today, i suspect profitable will be alot closer to lady a today.

Although shes been nothing but exceptional, would love for her to win!

Did you read my previous post?

The “nonsense pricing” is yours MOM.
It seems the only thing that matters to your form study is whether there’s a 1, 2 or 3 on the race name, that’s “silly”. What would you have gone for if the horses were exactly the same and yet the Kings Stand was called Group 2 and King George the Group 1?

“Form” is not about what the name of the race is; it’s about how horses run against each other and how reliable the form is – distances and all that… Same horses ran in the Kings Stand as in the King George, with similar distances back to the same horses. If it were just one horse to run similarly then you could argue it did not run to the same form in the King George. But it’s not one, it’s not even two, it’s three! Did all three horses that ran in the Kings Stand run equally as much below form as each other in the King George? That’s incredibly unlikely. On “form” it can almost be considered a “fact” there is very little between the two principles.

Your logic is beyond “crazy”.

Lady Aurelia beat Profitable 3 lengths in the King’s Stand.
