Although exceptional horses can come clear of their opposition, “form” of the real top class horses can often be shown only once two excsptional horses run against each other. With Lady Aurelia taking on Battaash… could we see a performance of higher sprinting quality than we’ve ever seen before?
Value Is EverythingAugust 15, 2017 at 21:46 #1314015Do you think that with these two likely to head to the front and potentially get involved in a battle for the lead, they could go too quick and set it up for something to come from off the pace? Marsha is surely better than her recent form, and she has C&D form at York. Her current prices of 10/1 look too big, for me.
August 24, 2017 at 16:54 #1315307Really would love lady aurelia to do it, my head tells me that if battash gets out the stalls well he will beat her, the beatings both of them gave profitable make it hard for comparison, but lady aurelia has a different task today under these weights plus the ground probavly suits her less than battash although both would probably prefer it firm
Lady aurelias probably my favourite horse about atm
But i think battash will win this
August 24, 2017 at 17:11 #1315316What a race this is, I’d have to pick lady Aurelia seeing as I’ve seen bet365 have them both at 6/4 (haven’t looked at the odds elsewhere), though the fact that it’s not firm or good to firm could sway things in battash’s favour, I’d expect battash to sit in just behind the yank filly
August 24, 2017 at 17:34 #1315321I make Battaash clear favourite. Nothing in it as far as ability goes, however…
Lady Aurelia’s best form so far is at Royal Ascot. Is she the same horse away from Ascot? Is she the same filly at this time of year? Wes Ward is not in bad form at the moment but nothing like what he was like going in to Royal Ascot.Charlie Hills is in very reasonable form and Battaash’s own form is on a consistent upward trend. For me Battaash’s fair chance is around 11/8 Battaash with 2/1 Lady Aurelia.
Value Is EverythingAugust 24, 2017 at 18:16 #1315332Ginge I see no reason to believe lady Aurelia won’t be as effective at York, if put her underperforming at Newmarket down to the extra furlong
August 24, 2017 at 18:16 #1315333Though I see your point in saying it’s an extra question mark which we have to factor

You still giving the Beast 5 Lengths MOM ?

Although I agree she’s better at 5f, BB; imo Lady A did not travel through the race at Newmarket as if she was in good form anyway.
Fact is by far her two best performances have come at Royal Ascot, in June, when Wes Ward has been in particularly good form. May be that is a coincidence, but the chance that it is not a coincidence must be taken in to concideration with the price I am willing to take.My 100% Book:
11/8 Battaash, 2/1 Lady Aurelia, 12/1 Marsha, 16/1 Profitable, 20/1 Washington DC, 66/1 Take Over, 80/1 Final Venture, 80/1 Priceless, 80/1 Cotai Glory, Goldream 125/1, Alpha Delphini 200/1, 300/1 Duke of FirenzeWith the two principles being prominent runners plus a few others, most likely way of the pair getting beaten is with a pace burn out. If that happens those like Take Cover will probably have also gone too quick early. This is a race where it might pay to back a hold up horse as the alternative. imo Washington DC is over-priced at around 29/1 on exchanges. He’s now a main bet too.
Value Is EverythingAugust 24, 2017 at 19:49 #1315352I’ve taken a side and backed Lady Aurelia for the first time ever.
She’s explosive, monstrous, handles all going and seemingly all challengers.
13/8 for another pillar-to-post pummelling.
(Not confident though so a tentative bet and if I’m honest there’s still the patriotic side of me that wants Battaash to win, shhh).
August 24, 2017 at 20:01 #1315354I want Battaash to win but I cant split the two. I have £55 in free bets to use so I will just throw them on Charlies boy at 7/4 and hope for the best.
August 24, 2017 at 21:19 #1315363Wouldn’t worry about them taking each other on as they both go like sh1t of a shovel from the start anyway. Should be a great race.
I’ve backed Profitable EW for no better reason than he seems to be the same horse as Marsha but is 6 points longer.
August 24, 2017 at 22:13 #1315378Massive fan of Battash and think it may be the best UK sprinter in a generation, BUT I don’t think it will live with Lady Aurelia tomorrow.
I’m all in.
PS, its great after growing up with the likes of Sharpo, Moorestyle, Habibti, and the best of them all Dayjur, the sprinting division after years in the doldrums is starting to have the WOW factor again.
August 24, 2017 at 22:59 #1315392Hopefully this will be a wonderful race!!
The two of them look head and shoulders above the rest. It is a classic improver against the proven!!
I have had two small each way bets on Profitable at 16/1 and Marsha at 10/1 but I just hope that it turns out to be as good as race as it is being built up to be!!
August 24, 2017 at 23:18 #1315397Lady A is a superstar

Eh?
Remember I had Lady’s aurelia as my NAP for Royal Ascot and did say she would destroy them. I also had her in that antepost requestabet at 25/1 for the track record to be beaten by her that day but unfortunately she was 1 hundredth of a second out.
Not sure what you mean by 5 lengths to the beast but assuming you mean Battassh, I think Lady Aurelia beats him by 4 lengths.

Why 4 lengths, MOM?

Lady Aurelia beat Profitable 3 lengths in the King’s Stand.
Marsha only a head away in 3rd, call it a total of 3.1 lengths away from Lady A.
Take Cover beaten a total of just over 4 3/4 lengths by Lady A in 5th.Battaash beat Profitable 2 1/4 lengths in the King George.
Marsha beaten a total of 3 lengths by Battaash.
Take Cover was beaten a total of 3 3/4 lengths. On “form” the two should surely be separated by no more than a length?
