Really decent days racing today, with the obvious highlight being The Sprint Cup.
Brando is my obvious starting point. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve bet him the last three renewals, and 0/4 will be a new achievement for me. He’s hard to recommend on recent form, but I just don’t think he’s out of this, and it would be madness not to top up at 50’s EW four places.
I don’t have to top up The Tin Man, as I’m happy with 20’s, and I think he’ll run his race here.
The Old Borough Cup sees Euchen Glen back out. The Antepost bets didn’t quite land this season, but the EW’s on the day certainly have, and he’s just too big a price here today. Should be right there, and I’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the first four.
Danzeno is a solid enough type, and I’m hoping for a run for my money in the 1600. I’d be fairly confident right now if getting my stake back in running.
Similar sentiments apply to the last at Wexford, with I’m Not Alone. He should be a big price, and though he might not last this out, I’m expecting him to travel well enough during the race to at least get my money back. Same goes for A Place Apart at Navan.
Toushan is another I like at Wexford, and with a run under his belt, where he offered plenty of encouragement, then I have to be with him.
I like Wise Counsel for Ayr Gold Cup, and I’ll be watching closely at Ascot. I’ll only bet him today though if I have any luck earlier.

September 5, 2020 at 15:09 #1500001Aaaaw he was superb, cheers mate.
That was a proper scream the house down job, bloody love him.
September 5, 2020 at 19:11 #1500055Back on song with Euchen Glen and I’m not Alone!
September 5, 2020 at 23:02 #1500071Cheers mate, was good to have a wee break there, only one bet in a fortnight, and a very good day.
September 5, 2020 at 23:10 #1500073Not much more I can say about Euchen Glen that I haven’t said before, just love him. Comfortably got 18’s to go with my AP 14’s, and watching him the whole way round, it was one of those rare occasions where I was confident the whole way. Was a fair old bet, and my third biggest lift of the season.
Good day all round, got 16’s for I’m Not Alone, who did it very well, while it was clockwork with A Place Apart, who I made a nice profit on. Got my stake back with Danzeno too, who really should have won.
Toushan was average, as were my pair in The Sprint Cup. I’d be surprised if we see Brando next year, but I’ll no doubt bet him again in this.
September 6, 2020 at 00:06 #1500078Decent cards tomorrow, and definitely going with a few.
The Mayo National is the standout race, but its a real tough one. I’m really struggling to split the JP pair, Plinth, and Portmore Lough. I think Portmore will go close if he can cut out the errors, while a repeat of his Kilbeggan run, will see Plinth bang there.
Trouble with this one, is that it’s such a strong field, there are dangers everywhere. Young Turk winning at 28’s the other week was a sore one, as he was a notebook horse of mine before his setback, while Peaches and Cream looks one to keep tabs on. Throw in the likes of Go Another One, and Debuchet, and it’s a tough old race. I hope Cecil Corbett doesn’t sneak in, as I’d be keen on him too.
I don’t think that Trees Valley will be a superstar, but she’s a very nice prospect. Too short too bet though, and she’ll go in the perms along with Dakota Gold at York, who’s also a bit short. Smashing horse, who I’ll go with if he hit 4’s.
Also at York is Mr Carpenter. Back to the scene of his big win here in July, and only 2lbs higher, I can’t see why he’s currently 33’s.
At Musselburgh, Ghaayar makes plenty of appeal down in class, and I’m taking the 25’s just now with Bet365, as he’s getting a bit of support right now.

September 6, 2020 at 14:00 #1500131Thanks mate, what a run, glad you and the Mrs were on.
September 6, 2020 at 18:48 #1500185Firmly back on track this weekend then.
The price of Mr Carpenter was baffling, and though a got a bit at 40’s, the lion’s share was at 33’s, as Skybet we’re going six places. It’ll be a good while before I ever get the same horse to win at 100’s, and 40’s, within weeks, but I’m not complaining. He’s a real favourite already. Obviously.
Ghaayar topped off the day nicely in the last, getting the place money at 20’s, which was a relief, as I was quickly trying to forget my pair in The Mayo National.
Normal rules is that I play on, and I’ll be having a go tomorrow, but unlikely I’ll put them up here though, as it’ll be bets for the sake of it.
September 6, 2020 at 20:23 #1500196Happy to put up one tomorrow. I expected Summer Hill to be a bit shorter, but 12’s available, and that looks worth risking on Handicap Debut. Decent enough run last time.

September 8, 2020 at 00:22 #1500322That almost went perfect with Summer Hill. He more than halved in price, and I was able to lay off for a free bet. Survived a bad mistake, and was cruising into contention when he fell three out.
Definitely one that got away. Not followed the yard really since they lost Kylecrue and Draycott Place, but he’s maybe one to latch onto when he’s a price.
Happy to get money back then, but after a fab weekend, I’ll swerve tomorrow, as some serious racing this week.
I’ll be cheering on Omnivega at Newcastle tomorrow, but way way too short for me, and another horse I like, Weather Front, also takes that race in, so I’ll happily sit it out. Weather Front looks a fair EW price at 12’s mind.

September 9, 2020 at 11:04 #1500439Smashing days racing, but not too many big fancies kicking about.
Aasheq isn’t a horse to rely on too much, and he’s certainly not impressed too much this season, but he’s low enough in the weights now, and he’s too big a price on his best form.
If Aasheq isn’t in form this year, then Big Storm Coming is even worse. He’s struggling to beat a single rival this year. Still, placed in this before, albeit a few years back, and I thought he was worth an interest.
Eeh Bah Gum was a notebook horse of mine last year, but he just struggles to win. Much more like it last time, but he’s short enough on the back of it. Perms only for him.
Omnivega back out at Kempton, after swerving Newcastle, and at the price, perms only too.
Cracking card at Punchestown, and in the 1415, I had to take a chance with Rachel Blackmore riding Supreme Vinnie, while Treaceysenniscorthy will be bet if I have any earlier luck, but for now is perms only. On his hurdles form, 6’s looks huge, but he’s drifting, and the Fav is getting hammered.

Only one bet tomorrow, and that’s Pista in The Park Hill. I’m on 7’s to 12’s, not the biggest bet I’ll have this season, but certainly big enough that I’ll be happy to lay my stake back before the off. Hopefully he’ll continue to shorten.

Pista 12’sSeptember 10, 2020 at 17:03 #1500642Delighted with Pista today, and even better was that she drifted before the off, so didn’t get the chance to lay her beforehand.
Thought about betting her for Fillies and Mares, but I’m not diving in yet.
September 10, 2020 at 18:16 #1500658Definitely betting tomorrow then, and the likes of Cecil Corbett in the last at Kilbeggan catching the eye.
He’s 25’s just now, it just seems far too big, and I’ve taken that as well as 29’s on Betfair.

September 10, 2020 at 21:45 #1500678Cracking days racing tomorrow then, and after how things have went the last week, I could go nuts, but sensible head is on.
I’m in a strange position with both Chiefofchiefs, and Rock Eagle.
I’ve bet Chiefofchiefs for The Champions Sprint at 66’s, so not sure I want to be betting him tomorrow. If he loses, he surely don’t go to Ascot, admittedly for a race he’s got his work cut out to win. If he wins, I still have a live bet. I’ll not decide until tomorrow.
I’ll definitely not back Rock Eagle tomorrow, and I haven’t bet him Antepost yet. I like him for The Cesarewitch. It’s tricky, but I’ll try and nick in for Newmarket in running.
Advanced Virgo looks an interesting one for the yard at Limerick, and the 16’s is worth taking. He’s caught the eye more than once, albeit a low level, and he could have a fair bit of improvement in him.
As well as Cecil Corbett at Kilbeggan, I’ll chance Mister Eddman to land a shock. A Wave Of The Sea is the obvious favourite, but he looks primed for bigger prizes in the future, and I’m hoping to have some fun with him as the season kicks on, he already looks a likely one for bigger chases than this.
