You wonder where the horse that beat your horse came from. it’s a common theme. Disguised ability, waited with, whatever.
Stop betting you losers.Thank you for deciding to “Weigh Anchor” on the original word choice

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Value Is EverythingJune 27, 2015 at 11:40 #1116743Check also Off the Scale at Newcastle, how many of you experts backed this?
June 27, 2015 at 11:55 #1116745tbf woolf121,i find this place really useful(still make my own picks) but there are some really decent judges on this forum.Put in the hard work(and it is hard) and you can come up with some decent results.Racing like in any sport will throw up the odd ‘strange one’.
June 27, 2015 at 12:20 #1116774Wolf, for your own peace of mind, you really need to find something else to do. Racing and betting clearly do not agree with you. I say this very sincerely that I hope you can find much greater fulfillment pursuing hobbies that cause you less grievance. Step back and take a look at the bigger picture, there is more to life than spending energy on feeling bitter and resentful, it sounds like you will be a lot better off without horse racing in your life.

Off The Scale was going back down from a mile last time out to 6f. Clearly 6f suits him better and perhaps more importantly, trainer Brian Ellison was (at the time of OTS’s last run) in poor form. He’s now in outstanding form with 4 winners in 2 days from 13 runners.
Value Is EverythingJune 27, 2015 at 13:09 #1116865Off the Scale was 16/1 sp. did you back it Ginger? You basically back everything in a race with a glimmer of a chance.
June 27, 2015 at 13:40 #1116881Hello Woolfie!
How’s ‘Cheerful Charlie’ these days? Craving a bit of attention perhaps?
June 27, 2015 at 13:41 #1116882It is not a question of whether anyone backed it, it is a question of answering your implied question, namely was the horse cheating in previous races?
Racing is not 100% straight and there are also shades of trying, horses not given a hard time once off the bridle for various reasons.
We also have a centralised handicapping system which gives a horse one rating regardless of distance, going or racecourse.
Some trainers routinely exploit this legally – they simply run the horse under less than optimum conditions until it’s mark comes down to a level where it can win under the right conditions.
But even then the horse might not get a run, have an off day, or run into another improver.
It is an inexact and often frustrating science – even the best gamblers can hit prolonged painful losing runs.
Many would say it is more trouble than it’s worth and having a risk free day job is less stressful.
Betting serious money on horses is definitely not for everyone.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 27, 2015 at 15:28 #1116934Off the Scale was 16/1 sp. did you back it Ginger? You basically back everything in a race with a glimmer of a chance.
Unfortunately Woolfie, I did not look at the race.
Yep, I back “everything in a race with a glimmer of a chance”… Amazing Maria 40/1, Muhaarar 29/1, Pethers Moon 22/1 etc etc. LOL
As ID rightly says “It is not a question of whether anyone backed it, it is a question of answering your implied question, namely was the horse cheating in previous races”.
Value Is EverythingJune 27, 2015 at 16:35 #1116986FYI, before you all burst with self righteousness, I am running a system that has been in profit all season, . Yes I backed O’Meara’s other entry in that race, second placed Al Khan. Note to self, never bet in a race where O’Meara has two or more running.
June 27, 2015 at 20:40 #1117108FYI, before you all burst with self righteousness, I am running a system that has been in profit all season, doesn’t stop me being a tad irked by skullduggery. Yes I backed O’Meara’s other entry in that race, second placed Al Khan. Note to self, never bet in a race where O’Meara has two or more running. I’d forgotten that he has a history of this kind of sharp practice. I was a fan of his stable but he has p***** me off.
Ye, ye ye, you’re running a profitable system. Pull the other one.

Trainers don’t know which horse will come out on top Woolfie. LOL
This has gone too far. You really are the most ignorant, pathetic punter, blaming someone else and casting aspesions on his honesty in work – for something you only have yourself to blame. Think of what you’re accusing O’Meara of here with absolutely no evidence what so ever!
Value Is EverythingJune 27, 2015 at 21:07 #1117123It’s not just about picking winners, it’s also about avoiding bad value.
Off The Scale was facing a 2/1 favourite in Buckland Beau, who was seven pounds higher than his only win. The Fav was running at a trip he had never won at and his sole win came in a race worth less than two grand on the all weather. This was a better grade race than that, at a shorter trip and the horse was 1/13 coming in. Fitted with a visor as well, you had a recipe for disaster.
If you trawl about in the crap, don’t be surprised when the sh*t hits the fan.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 27, 2015 at 22:52 #1117229Yes Ginger, well in profit and just one selection per race. Anathema to you, I know. I was going to post up some selections to help you out but stuff you.
June 29, 2015 at 12:24 #1117974Note to self, never bet in a race where O’Meara has two or more running.
So is this the story with every trainer? Was Paul Nicholls “at it” when Denman beat Kauto Star in the Gold Cup
May 28, 2018 at 09:08 #1355234The Cliffs of Moher, non trier.
How the mighty have fallen, reputations tarnished of horse and stable.
May 28, 2018 at 11:52 #1355239What nonsense. Why would Coolmore prefer Lancaster Bomber winning that race to Cliffs of Moher? Neither are serious stallion prospects for them and will both likely be sold to stand elsewhere.
