£1,786 trying to back Mordaunt at 4.2.

Rishi still not at 120; Penny hanging on in second place but Truss will be looking to attract the Wolf votes tomorrow.
July 19, 2022 at 15:06 #1607730Sunak: 101>115->118
Mordaunt: 83>82>92
Truss: 64>71>86
—-
Badenoch: 49>58>59Concur with Gladders and have said this previously – Mordaunt needed all the Tungendhat votes really and hard to see how she fends off Truss when the Badenoch votes are up for grabs tomorrow.
Surely only tactical manoeuvres from the Sunak team – if they’d rather face Mordaunt than Truss in the postal vote – can save Mordaunt now.

Value Is EverythingJuly 19, 2022 at 15:09 #16077332.1 Truss, 2.42 Sunak, 8.6 Mordaunt.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 19, 2022 at 15:12 #1607734An alternative view, Chezza: the Conservatives exist to win elections; even the most deranged far right Tory must know that Truss would make an abysmal leader and that Mordaunt would stand a far better chance against Labour. Sunak will be forever associated with Bozo’s government and dodgy tax issues, as well as labelled as out of touch with the common man.
So maybe the party gets behind Penny, purely to give them the best chance of winning the next GE.
July 19, 2022 at 15:27 #1607737That, Gladders, will take a significant number of Tory MPs getting behind Mordaunt tomorrow, at a time when Truss has the momentum, having picked up far more Tungendhat votes than commentators predicted.
I wouldn’t rule it out entirely, but I can see why Mordaunt is now the outsider of three.
It would be hilarious, though, not least because of The Mail’s hate campaign against her.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 19, 2022 at 17:21 #1607775There’s enough time once the final two is decided for enough of the membership to come to their senses (i.e. look at polling results) and see that Sunak is by far the most palatable option to the wider electorate.
July 19, 2022 at 17:30 #1607776If Mordaunt loses out by one vote tomorrow all Hell will break loose over Tobias Elwood losing the Whip.
Mind you, it would mean a dead-heat – what happens then?

Best line ..
“Back me I’m the smart one the principled one, and the realist who resigned, and I know you don’t like the continuing pain and there are few Peloton masochists out there like me, but I can at least make you feel good as I make you pedal harder and your pennies drop out ”

July 19, 2022 at 18:45 #1607800I almost, but not quite, feel sorry for Mordaunt and if she won the deserved embarrassment for The Daily Mail would be highly entertaining.
Sunak would be the sensible choice, though I don’t much fancy the anti-inflationary economic policy he’d impose.
Truss is the “Whoops, Apocalyse!” outcome.
I’d call her Poundland Thatcher, but I always thought Thatcher was Poundland Human Being, so God only knows what someone no else right wing but definitely less intelligent (and Thatcher was no genius) would be like.
If Starmer couldn’t at least get more seats than Truss in a hung Parliament, he might as well give up the game.
Liz Truss as PM would be a penalty kick for Labour.

we have the minister for climate change Mr Skeleton.Might I ask you first Mr Skeleton why the government’s policy has failed.
” Yes I’ll stand up – take a look at me ”
” Well certainly there’s not much to see – but could you clarify in words what exactly went wrong ?”
” We simply left it far too late 💀 ”
Could you expand on that somewhat ?
