That must be why my teacher in the 1970’s told me we may well be in for another ice age.
Value Is EverythingJuly 20, 2022 at 13:51 #1607869So. A PM that is leaving office in disgrace leaves the house to the clapping and cheering of the very MP’s that realised that they had to get rid of him because of his lies and lack of integrity. And yet the MP’s that pointed out his failures ( Kim Leadbeater, Geraint Davies etc) were jeered by the government benches because they just wanted self congratulatory sychofantic questions. Is it just me that can’t make sense of politics these days. And Hastalavista? That surely means we haven’t seen the back of him, heaven help us…..
July 20, 2022 at 13:55 #1607871Did the Labour Party MPs boo when Corbyn left the despach box for the last time, Moe?
Value Is EverythingJuly 20, 2022 at 14:10 #1607872That 1970s teacher of yours explains a lot, Ginge.
July 20, 2022 at 14:40 #1607874Whatever you think of Johnson – and in my case that’s very little – I thought “Hasta La Vista….baby,” delivered in vintage Johnson “style,” was funny.

For a start he was never in government. The MP’s that were clapping and cheering for Johnson were the very MP’s that saw fit to remove him from office for being a liar. And their attitude towards Kim was, imo a disgrace. Oh and, by the way, another Tory MP has just decided to not turn up at an arranged committee meeting ( a la Patel and Raab). They are just hiding from public scrutiny. It’s a disgrace. And I’ve never been a supporter of Corbyn.
July 20, 2022 at 14:53 #1607876Oh and what’s your take on the way Tobias Ellwood has been treated by the Conservative Party?
July 20, 2022 at 15:36 #1607879We can all look forward to Truss at the despatch box shortly …..

Mordaunt: 83>82>92>105What, for me is telling here is that Sunak faces the Membership with the support of just 39% of his own parliamentary party.
And for Truss it’s even worse, she has the support of just 32% of her parliamentary party.
Unless one of them wins decisively in the members’ vote – Truss 1.65 favourite with Sunak 2.58 – the new PM will not enjoy a strong mandate from their own Party.

July 20, 2022 at 16:18 #1607885She’s been absolutely useless in the debates so how can this possibly be? I’m not complaining, though….
July 20, 2022 at 16:24 #1607886It’s hard to fathom how Truss can be ahead in the Members’ polls – but she is.
I’m rooting for her all the way!

July 20, 2022 at 16:40 #1607889Listening to interviews with Tory members – relatively young ones too – and it’s clear it’s all about the tax burden.
They want taxes cut NOW.
They want Truss.
