Out of the 2 I’d take Mossy fen over Galvin , Galvin is race fit while Mossy will def come on for that run , he,s much the better jumper and I reckon Elliot is filling his boots with Galvin while he can , 40-1 for Mossy for Cheltenham seems a bit of value
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 23, 2020 at 15:47 #1507048I was also impressed by mossy fens jumping, he went straight in the tracker
October 23, 2020 at 15:51 #1507051HDLG you got Galvin a bit wrong. He is not filling his boots he is being put away for Cheltenham Festival now. The race today was so he could qualify. Long term plan. Gordon Elliott used to doing it. Jumping no problem his 2 chases at Cheltenham reads 2,1.
October 23, 2020 at 17:12 #1507059Not too despondent about Mossy Fen today- he ran with the choke out and will obviously strip a lot fitter next time. Still, it’s hard to see him reversing the form with Galvin any time soon.
October 23, 2020 at 17:59 #1507063Sorry Mike I just don’t see him winning at the festival , he may well be put away but as much as a fan of Elliot I’ll not be backing him , He may play Battleoverdoyen in this and I’d much rather him , year older and a properly put together chaser , Galvin is to small for me and loses ground when jumping
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 23, 2020 at 18:19 #1507066Does he travel too well to win this race?
Weve seen two strong favourites in ok corral and carefully selected pull there chances away the last two renewals
He doesnt strike me as a dour galloping stayer
October 23, 2020 at 19:20 #1507075I’ve said previously I hope that Elliot has a look at his wind , he traveled beautifully and jumped like a stag in the RSA but found nothing , he’s a big horse so he may still be filling out , Galvin fell trying to keep up with him last year but it maybe he doesn’t like Cheltenham …. We,ll have to see
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 23, 2020 at 19:21 #1507076Sorry talking about Battleoverdoyen not Galvin
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 23, 2020 at 19:46 #1507077Surely battleoverdoyen is no longer a novice HDLG
October 23, 2020 at 20:37 #1507080Sorry mixing up my races …..
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 24, 2020 at 11:34 #1507142Mossy Fen is a brute of a horse, too, so will take some getting fit and definitely needed the run.
October 24, 2020 at 12:33 #1507152He stopped dead yesterday , anyone else think the Twiston Davies horses maybe aren’t as forward as most years , he,s the one I’ve taken from yesterday
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 25, 2020 at 08:24 #1507261I don’t really get the crabbing of Galvins jumping, he made I thjnk 2 errors I the race and the rest were efficient and decent technique wise.
While he can’t come here HDLG, Doyen is said to be going back to 2 miles…

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 25, 2020 at 08:51 #1507264Where did u read that Jack , be honest didn’t see that coming !, as I’ve said I was hoping they were going to look at his wind , it’s not that Galvin is a bad jumper he’s just not slick , at the festival i could see him losing half a length to a length at most fences , to be honest at this point I have him as the weakest favourite ….it’s early days
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
October 25, 2020 at 11:29 #1507287His stable tour in the RP and ATR.
Nobody saw that coming i doubt!
I’d have one or two weaker favourites out there definitely….considering nobody knows what will show up in this bar Galvin…hes for winning connections and is classier than their winner was at this stage last year.
Not saying he’s still worth betting.Twitter: Jackh1092
Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 25, 2020 at 11:54 #1507288Losing half a length to a length at most fences? Only if his jumping suddenly falls apart on the day (which can happen to any horse), not from the evidence yesterday.
His strongest part of the race was in the closing stages too which bodes well for the extra distance. Funnily enough I was watching the race on ITV and they described his jumping as economical rather than one with mistakes.
October 25, 2020 at 11:56 #1507289Reading between the ‘stable talk’ lines it looks like The Big Getaway may be staying 2 a and a half miles rather than coming here at this stage.
