I was sure nicholls had been confirming sll week ND was going rsa, am i going mad or has he changed last second there?
March 15, 2021 at 07:40 #1529562You aren’t losing your marbles, Ham. In every single festival preview I have watched, Nicholls has said RSA. I suspect that they have decided that they can’t beat Monkfish; the ground has probably played its part, too.
March 15, 2021 at 07:46 #1529564I have always thought the term “Handicapper” a bizarre one to use when labelling a NH horse.
Many Gold Cup winners have run in Handicap Chases en route to Cheltenham glory.
Arkle ran in Handicap Chases and, if you seek more contemporary examples, so too did Desert Orchid and Denman.
The proliferation in recent years of NH Pattern events has changed the landscape a bit – the Lancashire Chase (sponsored by Betfair) has ruined the quality that used to go to Newbury for what I will always think of as the Hennessy – but it would quite simply be wrong to think a progressive Handicap Chaser cannot possibly win the Cheltenham Gold Cup, particularly in an open year.
Numerous such chasers have done, and no doubt will continue to do so periodically.
That said, I now think Royal Pagaille has a job on as the ground is reportedly drying out and an attritional slog in testing ground would surely be his best hope.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 15, 2021 at 08:30 #1529570On ratings Escaria Ten should be around the same price as Remastered. I think he is a bit short in the market.
March 15, 2021 at 09:20 #1529575I’ve only a saver on Escaria, but i do think he has a very nice chance. He really has looked a proper staying chaser so far this season. The one i’d be questioning the price of is Lord Royal, the only reason he’s that price is connections, literally. When it was realised he was the only WPM remaining runner plenty jumped on knowing he’d shorten.
Escaria Ten’s 2nd to Eklat De Rire has the potential to be top staying novice form, as Eklat De Rire still has shown his ceiling.
Best result for me, Galvin 12/1. Escaria e/w 16/1.
Saver rolling double on Next Destination. I do fear him showing up here, he has such back class and for me should be very close to favourite.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 15, 2021 at 10:10 #1529582Remastered bowled along in front in the Reynoldstown and hasn’t been subject to any mark, um, management with one eye on the Kim Muir.
March 15, 2021 at 19:54 #1529692On a day where I can forsee several short priced winners; I just can’t get behind Galvin. His connections are the sole reason for his price in my opinion and he’d be my lay of the day, if not the week.
Remastered looks a tough stayer whom I was actually expecting to see in the 3 miler. He’s still a really inviting price, however I’ll wait for the morning.
March 15, 2021 at 20:26 #1529709Next Destination to win this doing hand stands
Every run in his life he’s looked like he would thrive over marathon trips
Escaria ten the main danger
Galvin just looks a non stayer to me
March 15, 2021 at 22:24 #1529727Next destination the right favourite. He’s always looked a staying chaser and his novice hurdle class shows just how talented he is too. Wouldn’t be out of place in a gold cup this hirse
March 15, 2021 at 22:52 #1529730Would have loved to have seen Royal Pagaille do this, but Next Destination looks like a righteous winner.

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 15, 2021 at 23:18 #1529748Laid off a wee bit on Galvin, and I’ll probably do same with Escaria Ten as well. It’ll give me a free go with Remastered, who I think is on the way up.
Agree with the comments about Next Destination, and I was really hopeful about Lord Royal for The Leinster National. Two decent chances, and makes up a decent renewal.
Escaria Ten 16’s NRNB
Galvin 14’s
Remastered 8’sMarch 16, 2021 at 09:55 #1529800As ever a bit of a puzzle, with a decent bunch attempting a distance that, in the main, they haven’t been tested at yet.
One novice stayer has caught my eye this season and that is Snow Leopardess. She looks an out and out stayer and has mixed it with some decent staying handicap chasers in recent months. Will likely be keeping on when others are crying enough so a moderate each-way interest justified at 14/1 (Hopefully I can get a bit more on Betfair).
March 16, 2021 at 16:36 #1530018Next Destination for the win and Lord Royal ew 4pl for me. Some nice horses in this. GL all.
March 16, 2021 at 16:41 #1530024I love Snow Leopardess. Does anyone know why she took time out to have a foal? There can’t be many mares that do that and return to racing at such a high level.
March 16, 2021 at 16:59 #1530035Get in at 14s!
March 16, 2021 at 17:00 #1530036Was slightly worried this morning when soft ground predicted. Less so race time.
March 16, 2021 at 17:01 #1530037WD VtC and Mike, you saw that coming a long time ago! And everyone else on. Good race.
