Third and final part is now up online.
Thanks for all the feedback and I’m glad it’s proved an interesting read for some.
All the best,
BoycieApril 21, 2010 at 11:34 #291487Only read the odds compiler article so far, was a very interesting read. In a way its reassuring that bookmakers are still using tissues these days that are mainly priced up on going, distance, form ratings and a bit of gut instinct. However, if there’s a bookmaker out there who goes longer than the exchanges based on the tissue he’s compiled or obtained, I’d like to know who they are
. They dont exist imo.Another site that has very good interviews with gamblers, bookmakers and articles on betting in general is here…
http://www.pokerplayer.co.uk/sports-bet … archive/1/
The interviews with the likes of Micky Fletcher, Stephen Little, Sammy Nixon, Freddie Williams, the Hong Kong Syndicates etc.. are a few years old now but very readable and interesting.
April 27, 2010 at 19:02 #292838Sean, problem with Registering remains. When I click ‘Register’ the next page asks for a Username (so I type in Ken(Cambs) and in the box below my Email address where it then says an Email will be sent to me. I then click Register and a screen appears saying this user name is invalid. I’m using Google Chrome.
Any idea where I’m going wrong please?
Cheers
KenApril 27, 2010 at 19:20 #292839Sorted now thanks Sean. Seems your database not happy with using brackets in my user name. Without brackets went through smoothly.
Cheers
