‘The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs.’
That’s why you will be good rid of me. I can be disproportianately excessive. A few hours is enough !
July 30, 2023 at 19:40 #1657234Never too late Gamble…come and play ‘Select 3 Horses’ on Saturday on the competition Thread..I’ll be looking after it for one more week until Hot Fuss returns from holiday.
Hope to see you there.
Alternatively there’s always the Glorious Goodwood competition..5 whole days to indulge your newly refound skills and bash a few bookies..

from racing until my backlog is corrected – gamble ordered the rest to be shredded.
July 30, 2023 at 20:33 #1657245I should have downloaded all Gamble’s posts and made them into
a book. He’s very much a complete one off (in the nicest way)
I could just have a look through it in times of stress. He makes
me smile, even laugh out loud. Even Marjorie is a fan when I read
his posts to her. He would be some company, he looks at life in
a completely different way. I love his world.Lang may yer lum reek Gamble

You give a kindly description of me but I am much like others and I have got a huge amount wrong in my life which I try never to dwell too much upon. I don’t seem to worry about much which adds to my sloth and I never get bored even when I am doing nothing which is odd. Lacked a lot of confidence in myself when I was a young man and done some daft things lately taking on things that were way beyond my actual capability. Life is a learning curve, but I enjoy relaxing in the curve much more than learning in it hence the current backlog.July 30, 2023 at 21:22 #1657249I was thinking of grimes only this week gone by, gamble.
I created a meme about his NDEs thread but decided against posting it
Hope all is well with him and he posts again one day. I seem to remember bet365 were handing free bets left, right and centre. Grimes has the ability to make me think twice before posting it’s almost as if he is God himself.
Good to have you in here gamble.
TRF that is. The place is a much well balanced abode with you in itGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 30, 2023 at 21:42 #1657252Grimes was ok with critics and I remember the great battles he had with Ginger in his Near death experiences thread who was a total disbeliever and they stood toe to toe and argued it out more than once Yes Grimes was a character and he certainly enjoyed that thread which I think brought him closer to his late wife as he was deeply impacted by her death for a long while after. He lost some of his energy. Yes hopefully he is ok. A very sensible and self sufficient fella – I never worry about him much for that reason.
As for me I am just a fly by night and I don’t really belong anywhere. Your memes thread has taken off better than expected. As soon as it started I knew it was big but it’s outgrown my expectations of what it might achieve.
July 30, 2023 at 23:15 #1657263REMOVED

I went to see an American singer many years ago, John Stewart,
wHo I think had an insight to life. I think I posted it before.
He sang a song that’s stuck with me for decades, it’s called
Strange Rivers, about the choices in life. Choices? sometimes
we get them wrong.“Did you ever turn the corner
And you wondered why you did
‘Cause you haven’t been that way, now
Since you were just a kid
And nothing really happened
But then you’ve got to say
That you wonder what would’ve happened
Had you gone the other way
There are strange rivers
Rivers that you can not see
And there are strange rivers
Who know our destiny
And there are strange rivers
And we’re sailors
You and me.Sail on Gamble
July 30, 2023 at 23:52 #1657268The curve summed up Big G in rivulets of sense. I have never been shipwrecked but it would have changed my thinking enough to get me in second gear and kick my *rse into some sort of action ☺️
July 31, 2023 at 00:01 #1657272You made it through, you turned the right way
July 31, 2023 at 00:13 #1657275Yes I did but more by luck than judgement!
A lot of my bilge has been removed slightly after the midnight hour as promised. The slipper didn’t fit – no golden carriage – a bus pass hone – I am an ugly sister 😭July 31, 2023 at 10:13 #1657305Hi all
The Connaught hotel flat race tonight at Galway.
Massive field looks wide open,
Gordon Elliot’s

Great record of 21121 here and loves the wet.
There are a few more to both come in and drop out as yet so the picture remains incomplete.July 31, 2023 at 21:57 #1657439Thanks Sam. Followed you with that one. Good ew price.
July 31, 2023 at 22:10 #1657442Hello one and all! Jac I hear you were worried about me, which I was actually honoured to discover via Nathan, though he did inform me of this a couple of weeks ago I’ve only just seen his message! I had one of those months where I just kept to myself, without going on and on, that ex of mine who I made a thread about in the lounge all those months ago, got back in touch with me, she’s now got an 8 week old baby and wants us to get back together (the baby isn’t mine). The whole situation has well and truly bamboozled my brain and couldn’t have caught me more by surprise, I have no idea what on earth to do!
Anyway, I’ve been keeping myself busy working at Goodwood which has been a right laugh! Can’t wait for the festival to start tomorrow.
With regards to the comp, I think I took some early season gambles which have well and truly bitten me in the backside
, oh well, as long as I don’t come last!Hope everyones well and manage to find plenty of winners this week, though a warning for the Qatar meeting, the ground will be rather dodgy, can see it being either soft or (even if it’s good to soft) tacky, I fully expect plenty of odd results.
EDIT – Forgot to add my scores! I’m on 3790, which it says makes me rank 718.

None of my business and I don’t know the full story but I’d say you deserve much better than that ben.

July 31, 2023 at 23:19 #1657463Cheers Nathan, yeah I’ve been hesitant about seeing her again, the whole things a mess really
lol but life would be boring if it was simple!August 1, 2023 at 00:26 #1657473Great to hear from you Ben and will update that score when Godolphin horses get themselves into gear again..thank you.

I just popped into wish everyone luck for the Goodwood compy as I am having to take Dave to hospital for two separate appointments next few days and wont be about much until Friday.
Must say I do agree with Nathan though regarding your ex I would tread very carefully there.
Look how far you have come without her. I think there is someone out there for you Ben to build a life and family with of your own. Bringing up a baby is a huge responsibility let alone someone else’s and all the problems that could arise.
Take care .. Jac
