Hello to all
I think that the Flat Season 2000 will be remembered for being one
that none of us have seen before. However we have had some sport to
keep our interest alive. As far as this site is concerned the big story must be how does
BigG manage to keep finding all these winning selections, he is
setting a standard that none of us can match. Let us hope the
bookies are feeling some pain from his bets.I need to raise my game for the rest of the season to give myself
some chance in the various competitions. Win or lose though I still
enjoy the interest generated by being involved. All the best to everyone
August 2, 2020 at 19:15 #1496185Thanks Andre and John, I thought I’d just need to get a bigger pair of jeans after
this lockdown, but I’ll need a bigger hat too the way you guys are going
I think the big story is this thread John, it’s kept us all going through a
tough time with the virus, it’s been like a mini support system. There’s been
some serious horsey talk, and a fair bit of the craic too. The competitions
help too, I love them and I’m getting a good run at the moment, but it will no
doubt be someone else’s turn soon enough.Keep it going team, and stay safe
August 3, 2020 at 00:11 #1496197Nice to hear from you John and can feel your frustration with the horses not always running as we wish them too.
I can see how much you love these comps and without a doubt you are a good judge. Winning streaks come and go and mine is wobbly at the moment to say the least.
I think the bookies have been crying into their empty satchels this week with Graham’s winning bets..he’ll soon be offering to buy the Company.A big part of finding winners is discipline and by that I mean taking the time to break down a race looking at every aspect of every horse running, their previous races, watching videos until you are certain you have the best horse in that race and that takes an amazing amount of time and even then you could have got it all wrong but you have the confidence in your selection and that feels good but horses being the beautiful beings that they are it can still not work out to plan.
Like you I’ll be working on that.Graham you are the master of the big price winner/place and you’re brave enough to take on short price favourites I feel that’s where your success lies, you get a good vibe for a decent price horse and go with it. Always a certain amount of luck needed but just keep doing what you’re doing and certainly no need for a modest guy like you to get a bigger hat …just keep the Crown on when you go shopping. Jac

ARABIAN ROMANCE
2/1She’s on my list of horses to follow next time out and having run so poorly over course and distance last time with no obvious excuses she has to be given another chance to retrieve her form.
Arabian Romance put in a promising debut run at Yarmouth where she was a close 2nd to Michael Stoute’s useful Almareekh who went on to win again at Doncaster and the 4th horse Ice Sprite (also on my list) who also won her next race.
Hoping she could be a class above her rivals today.
Best of luck if you have a bet today.. Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 3, 2020 at 13:30 #1496210Good Luck with Arabian Romance Jac. Rose Grey was finishing well in her only race and could be the danger.
Hey John – Yes, the competitions are tough here, but that’s what keeps it interesting. With lots of very knowledgeable people you have to be in top form to do well. Couldn’t agree more, the interactions with the good people here are what keep me coming back too.
Good Luck if you’re betting today!
August 3, 2020 at 15:46 #1496217Good luck with Arabian Romance..!!
Paddy Power have let me back in, we did have a stand off as they were asking for too much for me to prove my age
I told them that I have had an account with them since 2010 so unless I was under 8 at the time I would be old enough now
They kept on, so I told them I’ll bet else where and that they got on my t!ts on social media with some crap that kept spouting about Liverpool FC
Anyway they sent me an email promoting a promotion so I thought I’d try and get back in and have made a few deposits and withdrawals and everything seems to be back to normal…
One good thing I have noticed with them that I wasn’t able to do with betfair or Skybet is bet multiples in the Cheltenham win any race market which with a horse like Envoi Allen is not worth me sticking a few quid on a time at 2’s but now I can bump it up in trebles etc I can build up a kitty on him.
Sorry to ramble on but I was quite pleased with it all..Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 3, 2020 at 17:09 #1496223Well done Nathan getting back in with Paddy and feel free to ramble away. What I can’t understand is how they got to query your age..Do they have some sort of Webcam spying on their customers or something?
Anyway Paddy gave me a free £10 bet today which has gone onto Arabian Romance and I”m hoping she’ll find her form again later this evening and I can build up a freebet pot with the winnings.
Thanks for your good wishes for AR tonight and also Andre. Your pick Rose Grey has interesting breeding never heard of her sire before and first run since Meydan in mixed company she could be a dark horse. Angel Fairy also one to be feared.
Best of luck.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 3, 2020 at 22:41 #1496248Arabian Romance ran a better race today but seemed unbalanced and may not like the track same applies to Grey Rose. One more chance on a different course before she leaves the list.
Nice 5 length win by Angel Fairy who definitely goes on the list..Haggas still flying high. Jac

VIOLA .. 5/2
WINCarrying on the Arabian Romance theme I’m taking a chance that the race won by Almareekh is producing some good runs from the fillies that finished behind her.
Viola was 3rd in that race at Yarmouth with Arabian Romance in 2nd and Ice Sprite (since a winner in 4th).Hoping to see Viola play a bigger part in this what looks like an easier race tonight.
Best of luck..Jac

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 6, 2020 at 08:04 #1496390Decided to have a look at the 2 year old Group races Darren mentioned and I very much
like the look of Military Style in the 1.30. He won his first race but needed a bit of stoking
up a couple of furlongs out. He just got there when he picked up well in the final 1/2
furlong. His next effort on the face of it was dismal, 3rd in a 4 runner race when 4/9 fav,
but he seemed to be going nowhere when the 1st 2 had pulled away from him, only to
pick up and run on well but went down by 1L. Both races screamed the same thing, he
needs 7f or a mile. Well he’s got the 7f today and I’m really surprised he’s 18/1. Maybe
the market has taken the view that Wayne Lordan has jumped off him in favour of Van
Gogh, but an O’Brien 2nd string holds no fears for me and I fancy him quite a bit.In the Phoenix Stakes on Sunday, I’m hoping that The Lir Jet is as good
as I thought when I had an ante post on him in the 2000 Guineas a while back.
He was beaten after I bet him in the Darley Prix Robert Papin at Chantilly last
month, he seemed to hit a bit of a flat spot before running on well and just failing
to get up. If he’s got any chance of heading to the 2000 guineas, he has to win this.
I’ve taken the 7/2, he’s going to have to be back to his best if he’s to beat Steel Bull
who also looks very decent.Good luck today everyone
August 6, 2020 at 09:45 #1496397Best of luck Graham
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 6, 2020 at 14:09 #1496416Nice one with Military Style Graham and he went off 7/1 so well done getting 18/1.
My run of bad luck continues as Snowfall just misses a place by a short head. At the moment if I back them to win they place and if I back EW then they come 4th
Keeping positive and hoping this will turn around hopefully soon and before Bob’s Daylight cup. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 6, 2020 at 14:33 #1496418Thanks for the tip on Military Style! I got in at 20/1.
August 6, 2020 at 14:33 #1496421Snowfall was last out the gates Jac, that worried me as I think she needs stepping up in distance
hard luck the short head 4th, we all have runs like that.
form is temporary but class is permanent
so much so that
Nathbet installed you as the 2/1 fav for the daylight cup
I told Hein that I fancy you…
for the daylight cup that is..!!
He has parted with his German pension
now I’m alright as I laid the money off with The Young Fella who put you up as 16/1 underdog…
but Hein is worrying now that you maybe a lame donkey
No pressure…..Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 6, 2020 at 14:44 #1496422That was hard luck with Snowfall Jac, I thought she was a cert to be in the places
at the very least. I’ve gone through spells exactly like that Jac, it’s a bit soul
destroying but I know how good your knowledge of them is and I’ll bet you’re back
among the winners before longI was really pleased with the run of Military Style, he made the most of that stamina
I was going on about, got out sharp and wore them down. I wasn’t as pleased with the
whopping 50p in the pound deduction, but when I saw earlier he was out to 28/1, I
couldn’t believe it. I stuck another 20 e/w, so although a half was cut it still
between the 2 bets was a nice return. I didn’t mention I had gone in again, so here
is the 2nd one, and Paddy even upped it to 30/1, nice chap that he is……….CONGRATS! 🤑

Bet ID: O/4733706/0003965I’ve stuck a few quid on Mythical in the 3.00. He hasn’t shown much
this year, but I’ve got to believe a horse O’Brien thought good enough to go to the
Derby has got to be better than he’s shown so far. He looks to be entered in some
top races so he hopefully is good enough to take this and the 9/2 seems quite
generous -
