I know there’s been a similar thread moaning about how
poor a presenter Matt is, but tonight takes the biscuit. Before anyone thinks I’m moaning because I’ve backed a few losers,
this isn’t the case as I’ve had the first 3 winners (2 at Longchamp and 1 in Killarney), however, tonight he’s unbearable, it’s meant to be a racing channel
and instead, he’s now talking and making jokes about Burger Vans at Killlarney and now he’s sucking up to industry people, what a creep.Anyone else finding him painful
July 14, 2010 at 17:40 #306434What are the burgers like at Killarney then?
He is not a poor presenter based on going off-topic.

Fair point.
July 14, 2010 at 17:49 #306440You do take the biscuit Matthew, don’t you? If it’s not your expertise on jockeyship and female presenters now we have to suffer your critique of Chappers. Can you ride a galloping horse? Can you wear a dress and apply make-up? Can you inform and entertain a viewing public? If you can do all of these things then hats off to you. But if you can do none then what other qualifications do you have to being the forum’s resident critic?

The thread title is about Chapman, yet you somehow find it necessary to sneak in the fact that you’ve had the first 3 winners

I love Chapman, each to their own though.

Nah, I’ve not sneaked in the fact that I’ve had the first three winners, I mentioned it incase anyone thought I was taking out a few losers on Chapman. It’s been said before.
July 14, 2010 at 18:02 #306451Why would anyone take out backing a loser on Chapman?!
July 14, 2010 at 18:08 #306452Why would anyone take out backing a loser on Chapman?!
not necessarily Chapman, just having a moan about something, just for the sake of it.
Anyway, as you said you ‘love’ Chappers, there will be others that feel the same and there will be people that aren’t so keen. Each to their own.
July 14, 2010 at 18:15 #306454Of Course. Chapman divides opinion, because he has an opinion. I can see why some strongly dislike him.
July 14, 2010 at 18:39 #306456I’m totally with you Matthew, Chapman drives me mad and I often turn the sound down when he’s on air or just switch over to another channel. He’s in the Jonathan Ross league of thinking he’s so clever and in love with himself. Why don’t they bring Dave Compton back?

Its the crawling he does to jockeys, trainers and owners. Creep.
And the yeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaa’s.

Matt might call you a creep if he read the Emma Spencer thread! The reason he’s on his the majority of viewers are fans of him, shown in the recent RP poll.

As Mark Johnston said the other night there is far too much racing these days which means a lot of it is pure muck in terms of quality.
Mark Johnston actually said there is so much racing that it is boring people when they tune in, I dare say Matt is trying to livin up a show that if left dependant on letting the racing do the talking would have a lot of Sky Sports viewers turning over, remember tonights show was on Sky Sports aswell and therefore a few new first time viewers to racing perhaps….
Honestly the standard of racing on show tonight is terrible and I welcome Matts attempts to liven up the show.
I actually think hes good for the sport.

Well judging by the amount of enthusiastic replies to the Emma thread, I’d say the majority were keen on the topic

I’m admiring her, not sucking up to her, she doesn’t know me from Adam.
July 14, 2010 at 19:22 #306472Just to back you up Matthew, I completely agree with your opinion of your namesake. Nuff sid, I’ve said it all before anyway.
