Sorry to anyone who backed Galophin there, brutal, glad the horse and jockey both seem ok.
March 17, 2022 at 13:51 #1588096“Thanks Green.”
Um, how can I put this….I was being sarcastic, today and yesterday with Delta Work. You seem like a nice enough chap and contribute a lot to the forum, and when I’ve said well done to you I mean it…but sometimes…you know….read the room.
Hint: if they ever resurrect Red Rum from the dead, and he comes out of retirement and runs in the Grand National and surges ahead at the Elbow then gets chinned on the line by something you’ve backed…just….sit on your hands for a minute will ya?
March 17, 2022 at 13:52 #1588097Am not always Townend’s greatest fan but he did absolutely nothing wrong there.
Value Is EverythingMarch 17, 2022 at 13:53 #1588098Hopefully Gallopin des Champs is just fine. Again a stunning performance. He really looks to have it all. Speed, stamina, jumping (normally).
March 17, 2022 at 13:53 #1588099My memory of KV was slightly inaccurate in the interests of fairness. He actually won the race he sprawled on landing in and he was never the same again but it was a different injury he suffered later on in training. It was more the way Paul nearly clung on/horse got up that reminded me of him and the talent is similar too.
March 17, 2022 at 13:54 #1588100“God knows where they go with Bob as he def ain’t a jumper”.
He’s a novice who was 40 lengths clear of the 2nd HDLG. Just isn’t as good as GDC.
March 17, 2022 at 13:54 #1588101Everyone forgetting Mullins other GC horse …..
March 17, 2022 at 13:55 #1588102Mike the other 2 are 20lbs inferior ….they were in a different race , enjoy your winnings but anyone can see Bob ain’t a jumper
March 17, 2022 at 13:56 #1588104Yep Ginger no blame should be directed to the jockey.
March 17, 2022 at 13:57 #1588105With that knee action he will likely want ground no quicker than proper good to soft and maybe even soft ground – will likely be a bit stiff/sore in the morning but nice to see the crowd clap him on his way back down the walk way.
March 17, 2022 at 13:58 #1588106Greenasgrass, he knows you’re being sarcastic. His behaviour on here is appalling, and seems to get away with it scot free, despite the constant complaints from some a few of us
March 17, 2022 at 13:59 #1588108Gloating at a winner when you were ten lengths back at the last fence is really cretinous behaviour.
You can take no lasting joy from that. You’re view of the race was shown up for what it was and you got very fortunate at the end Mike.
March 17, 2022 at 13:59 #1588109With Bob Olinger’s action I do wonder whether he’d be better with a bit less give in the ground.
Value Is EverythingMarch 17, 2022 at 14:01 #1588112Lets not forget that dual Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo hit the deck in his novice year at Cheltenham and he is nowhere near as good a jumper as GDC – just have to chalk it up as one of those unfortunate mishaps.
Zero blame on jockey but as Ruby said (from plenty of experience) he will be villified in some quarters regardless and had he gone short and fell he would have been blasted for not seeing a stride as he had at the second last….damned if you do.
March 17, 2022 at 14:02 #1588113Tizzaards, well said. I actually typed the word cretinous, and took it out.
March 17, 2022 at 14:04 #1588117I said it previously in here, bobs a hurdler,
Henry seemed to say otherwise ginge, almost touted bob as needing give in the ground…
Given bob ran to form ginge, what would timeform rate this one 207(p)? Had gdc stood up … lol
March 17, 2022 at 14:04 #1588118Prob Ginge but he just isnt a jumper , either that or the corkscrewing is a back issue , HDB says they’ll gave him a check over so he,s obv not happy , ID hate to see him jumping like that in a GC , everyone seems to have forgotten Monkfish , I may have to have a play on the 2023 GC , 16s or20s …
