Not for the first time, my attention drawn to Remastered. One of my favourites of recent years, and was brilliant to see him return to winning ways last time. Regular of mine, and if he lines up, I’ll be with him, but I’m not going to play just now, as not convinced he’ll turn up.
My record in The Welsh National is horrific in recent years, but I’ve got one eye on Copperhead for it this year, as he finally looks back on the up. Shortlist here too, but also holds an entry Sunday
Al Dancer and Ballygriffincottage also of interest, but veering towards no Antepost at this time, for all the 25’s on Ballygriffincottage looks way off
Edit – Took the 10’s, and will top up if he drifts
Topped up, after he went 16’s
Remastered 16’s/EW4Pls
November 8, 2024 at 14:49 #1712126Not a glistening renewal, but an open one nontheless.
I’ll take a chance on Al Dancer at the prices. More than capable off his current mark and might just be too good for them, even at 11 years of age. Callum Pritchard is a capable conditional and takes a handy 7lbs off too.
November 9, 2024 at 01:28 #1712195I don’t think this race is that competitive. Front two in the market are imo over-priced. To me, the pair combined have a better chance of winning than losing. The Changing Man split Stay Away Faye and Grey Dawning on chase debut / reappearance – this week last year. Albeit they improved afterwards whereas The Changing Man didn’t. Did travel like the best horse in the race final start, suggesting he was on his way back. Yet to race on a sound surface over fences but acted well on it over hurdles. Trainer Joe Tizzard is in sparkling form.
Lord Accord won a Class 3 C&D handicap by 16 lengths on similar ground last month and only raised 5 lbs to a mark of 128 in this… And yet was runner-up in the Badger Beer of 2022 off a mark 8 lb higher 136, when only beaten 2 1/2 lengths by Frodon. 11 lengths clear of the third.
Have saved on the Honeyball pair, Forward Plan and Lord Baddesley. Had to back the latter, as I often used to go through North Baddesley on my way to Southampton.

November 9, 2024 at 10:03 #1712218Orange/Black for me. Mofasa is back to his last winning mark, he gets his conditions and Paul Nicholls mentioned he had this race in mind for a long time. Also a saver on Lord Accord by the same owner. Won nicely over course and distance last time and still below his mark when second in this race behind Frodon.
Mofasa 7/1
Lord Accord 4/1November 9, 2024 at 10:05 #1712221Lord Accord ew
November 9, 2024 at 10:10 #1712223Taken a chance on
Gustavian 16sBest of luck to all today
November 9, 2024 at 15:07 #1712272I’m going double handed in this one.
Lord Baddesley is my big bet + Mofasa has to be bet as well
November 9, 2024 at 15:28 #1712278Backed Gustavian at 16/1 EW and Remastered at 14/1 EW.
November 9, 2024 at 15:38 #1712279Wow – insane performance to go off like that and keep going.

November 9, 2024 at 15:38 #1712281Great shout peter and what a huge price he was.

November 9, 2024 at 15:43 #1712283Just missed the race but WD Pete, super price too
November 9, 2024 at 15:53 #1712284Wow! What a ride.
…And what a tip Peter!
Thought age might have caught up with Al Dancer – so wrong. Not sure how many other horses ran their form. Even Lord Accord made several errors. And the 3rd Gustavian isn’t the horse he was. The Changing Man was going very easily when coming down. Hope the handicapper doesn’t hit Al Dancer too hard.
Value Is EverythingNovember 9, 2024 at 16:09 #1712287Well done Peter must have had his Weetabix this morning Racing Post quoted “he’s usually mustard after a break”.

November 9, 2024 at 18:47 #1712297Thanks, all. It was a hell of a ride. I had a five fold at Aintree and four fold at Wincanton both let down by one result today, so this was a very welcome change in luck!
I was glad to see Remastered running off after his fall. I actually thought the race was being set up for him before he came down.
