It has just been announced by US authorities that in addition to supporters of banned countries being denied visas, the same now applies to players and coaches. So banned countries will not be able to play in the tournament. This World Cup is an absolute farce and no self-respecting country should take part. I say this even if this is what Trunp wants. He can say the USA won the World Cup as USA first team beat USA second team in the final
Iran have asked FIFA to move their matches to Mexico, not an unreasonable request given that the USA is bombing their country. Especially as Trump has said their squad would not be safe in the USA. Of course, FIFA refused, as they do what Trump tells them to. How anyone could be interested in a tournament run by this corrupt outfit is beyond me. Am I the only one who was taught the difference between right and wrong?
It might have been sensible to have arranged for all Iran’s games to be played in Mexico anyway, even before the current situation commenced.
There is a precedent. When China qualified for the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, it was agreed they should play all their matches in South Korea given their long standing animosity with Japan.

I posted this below on March 2nd, when Trump started his tiff with Iran. But apparently according to the FIFA rules (reported on BBC), they can assign any team they wish as a replacement. USA v Russia final? as boycott plays a straight bat and no one turns up.
Iran likely to be replaced by Iraq, with UAE taking their place and to play Bolivia in the play offs according to some.
But, I wouldn’t put it past the powers that be to include Russia playing under a neutral Asian flag as a direct replacement for Iran and leaving the play offs as is.Ireland (both north and south) and Wales just got very lucky. They did NOT qualify for the World Cup 2026.
I have just read that Chief Moron Trump has just threatened to cancel the World Cup as Canada has upset him by not grovelling to him.
Good news for soccer and their supporters if all USA matches are played elsewhere.Looking forward to it now

Calls himself leader of the free world, the man is a imbecile who behaves like a playground bully, maybe all of his surrounding sycophants should climb out of his backside and look at what is happening in the real world. I certainly won’t be watching the World Cup, enough is enough after Qatar and then Saudi Arabia being given the 2034 tournament. That is one tournament that should be boycotted.

Even taking the politics out of it, it’s going to be an absolute s***show. The price gouging is off the scale. Never mind the tickets, even the public transport is subject to it and there’s three figure sums being charged for a parking space. Pure corporate greed at the expense of ordinary people, a perfect analogy for the USA then.
The USA emphasises that neither the Iranian team nor their supporters are welcome and indicates that even their team would not be safe. Despite all this FIFA (Feeble idiots fu…..about) will not move Iran’s games to Canada or Mexico. If you wrote this storyline in a book everyone would say it was pure fiction!
