From Andrew Mount’s Trend Horses (and with apologies to both Mounty who could post himself and those who see this as spam), emphasis mine:

    MAIN AIM

    4yo b c (Sir Michael Stoute)

    Distance

    5f: 0 (0-1)

    6f: 1812 (2-4)

    7f: 1131 (3-4)

    1m: 4 (0-1)

    Conclusion: he’s effective from 6f-7f.

    Going

Good to firm or faster: 113042 (2-6)

    Good: 1 (1-1)

    Good to soft: 1 (1-1)

    Soft: 18 (1-2)

    Heavy: no runs

Conclusion: he won a Doncaster handicap on officially soft going but the final time of that race was only a couple of seconds above standard and he is likely to proves best on fast ground.

    Fresh

First two runs each season or after a break of six weeks+: 11111 (5-5)

    Others: 30842 (0-5)

Conclusion: he runs especially well when fresh.

    Summary of ideal conditions

When racing over 6f-7f his record reads: 11318112 (5-8), improving to: 11111 (5-5) when fresh (first two runs each season or after a break of six weeks or longer).
