Il Est Francais still heading here according to the trainer… He simply has to lead it seems or isn’t happy. The Jukeman will hopefully go with and Gaelic Warrior can sit pretty in third (if settling nicely) has first pop at them and won’t be coming back anytime soon at least not quickly enough for the closers… Jango Baie and Banbridge fight out second and third… If FTF comes here they fight out third and fourth

One a serious note I reckon Jukebox will lead and get a few of these in trouble with his jumping

Nathan yes if I’ll Est Franca’s gets a lead, a few here could go for that ie Thejukebox Man and Gaellic Warrior
Also Francais did run bad race prior to last year’s king George when pulled up, so can understand what connections say about wanting a lead

Having already bet Heart Wood for this, I don’t know what to make of him now after the John Durkan. I hope that he goes though.

FWIW I think that Gaelic Warrior will run and win, but even without any positive news on L’homme presse, I’ve bet him as well at 66-1 ew. A forgotten horse if ever I saw one

All of the last 10 rated winners were OR 160+ by the way.

Even if she won on Saturday, I doubt she’d run here, but I’ve bet Panic Attack anyway, up to 410’s.

Paul Kealy wrote an interesting article about horses running to a RPR mark of 170+ in the month of November. He basically says that since Lung Run in 2012 all nine chasers to run to an RPR in excess of 170 in November and have then run in December have lost.

I don’t think that article says who the 9 chasers were and if any of them were trained by Willie Mullins.

Mike, I think Cyrname made the list twice: in 2019 and 2020

Silviniaco Conti had a hard race in the Betfair Chase (below), ran to RPR 170+, and won the King George the following month. So it can be done.

I think it’s pound for pound the most ignored key factor in punting. Horses run huge races, seemingly bolstering their form, thus reducing their price for future events. But huge races take huge tolls unless you have a very rare horse.

Two good examples from last season were Broadway Boy, 2nd in Hennessy after leading for a long way and battling back three times (beaten at odds on next time, then PU in Ultima). Then Brighterdaysahead with that massive Leopardstown run – never got within a stone of it in her following two runs.

    I’m sure there’ll be more.

I recall Hen Knight saying Best Mate ideally wanted 6 weeks between races, no matter how easily he had won.

Which is one reason I think The Jukebox Man will be primed to run a great race on Boxing Day….

I’m not too fussed on Harry Redknapp but this made me smile this morning

“My wife said we’ve got my son and his wife coming round Boxing Day and I said ‘I won’t be here’, I’ll be at Kempton”

Was checking through my AP bets last night and noticed I’m actually on Gaelic Warrior again for this

I was on last year at 14s and was fuming when Willie pulled him out.

I really can’t see any danger to these 2 apart from Jango Baie. I think Fact To File will go to Leopardstown. Djelo might have an outside chance and not sure what’s going on with Banbridge.
