Only just got around to this a blinding round of jumping great race.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 26, 2025 at 22:55 #1748627Might expect TJM to have most room for improvement as the least experienced.
December 27, 2025 at 00:22 #1748635Banbridge is very ground dependant and as the course record went in this race, conditions were very much in his favour today – it won’t be this quick come Cheltenham and I would think that the Ryanair might be a bit beyond him opposition wise and the Gold Cup will be too far.
TJM is open to the most improvement due to his relative chase inexperience (this was just his 4th chase race), he did win over 3m as a 4yr old and his dam was related to a multiple 3m2f winner who was also placed over 3m3f. The great dam was also a half sister to Merry Master (who was 2nd in a Scottish National) and the dam’s sire (Flemensfirth) did sire Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander and the bet365 Gold Cup winner and Welsh National runner up Tidal Bay, so there is every reason to believe that the Gold Cup trip shouldn’t be beyond him (as it has been for many King George winners of the past).
Assume that the Denman Chase will be his likely Gold Cup prep as I think he should avoid Trials Day although it is interesting to see that there is no much difference in his price for either the Gold Cup (ranging from 7s to 8s) or Ryanair Chase (ranging from 6s to 12s).

I believe that he goes straight to Cheltenham for the Gold Cup, LD.
December 27, 2025 at 12:04 #1748689I thought Gaelic warrior didnt quite travel as well as you’d have hoped. Thought he got slightly outpaced and squeezed on a couple of occassions. Townend had gave him an absolute peach to hold that position just off the pace on the inner. You’d have to say, given the margins, Townends mistake losing his grip of the whip has probably cost him the race. Think he’s turning into a remarkable animal.
