Glad he hasn’t the pace , Nico said before the race that he didn’t have the gears of the others …. he s a grand national horse

Well done VTC great call at 40/1 With Frodon. I didn’t think he stood a chance here, great ride from Byrony as well. Disappointed with Clan there thought the race was his for the taking.

Jesus h that was a strange race

She controlled it perfectly from start to finish and I don’t think Santini has the tactical speed or jumping ability to put Frodon under pressure (and Nico possibly underestimated Frodon too).

What a hard little horse. That Cheltenham handicap was a tough race and the Many Clouds without fences completely didn’t suit so he has done so well to come out and do that today.

GG I’m not underestimating her ride but on all prior form the 1st and 2nd had it to find , he,s as hard as nails but in my mind it makes al boum photo chances of a 3rd GC a lot more solid

Wd if you backed the winner. Clan Des Obeaux left his race behind at Haydock i think. Santini ran like i expected on that track. Cyrname i never fancied to win over 3 miles at the top level and ran worse than last year. LIT ran terribly. Waiting Patiently and Saint Calvados ran well.

    Glad he hasn’t the pace

I agree. But Nico was on Bryony’s quarters after two fences, when she slowed the pace after the starting burst, and he pulled back instead instead of kicking on. For a horse who stays longer than the mother in law, that was the wrong move and it meant that Frodon was in charge for the rest of the race.

Whilst it’s great to see Frodon and Bryony win the King George, the other jockeys need to take a long hard look at themselves.
Nico says he’s going to make use of Santini and then just sat off a fluctuating pace.
A few good horses have bombed out

Why come to Kempton and then hold your horse up out the back?

Well done to those that backed the fearless Frodon

Some jockeys in for a few stern words I would imagine. Ruth Jefferson seemed furious.

Nico niggled at Santini a long long way from home , what he wanted to do and what he can do are two completely different things , I said it was strange they entered him and nothing I saw today changed my mind , there’s ap saying this was a good prep for the GC for him ……err sorry I can’t have that , I’ve said on the GC thread plenty times why should last year’s form be reversed ….after that it’s even more unlikely

They didnt want to give Santini too hard a race today. They are working back from March. Im not surprised he was handy but not forcing it. Connections will be happy with that. A bigger prize awaits

Frost and Frodon are poetry in motion.

It’s called jump racing for a reason. Frodon was far and away the best jumper today.

Given the horses record at Cheltenham and the way he travels and jumps is it too big a stretch to give him a chance in the a Gold Cup?

Well done those who backed Frodon!

Great ride by Byrony. You would think the others underestimated Frodon as he got it all his own way. Cyrname again very poor here. He was out of it at the back straight, hardly a staying issue. Clan des Obeaux jumped poorly and did well to finish in the top 3. Losintranslation seems to have serious problems and Santini too slow as expected.

A bit disappointing for me to just see Saint Calvados just lose his top 3 at the line.

Patriot i dont think Frodon will get any peace from Native River in the Gold Cup. That will be a proper stamina test. Frodon has won a Ryanair so today’s race the way it panned out suited today.
