“I haven’t heard anyone say this horse is as good as Frankel”
Just watch ITV racing this afternoon it’s almost guaranteed to come out before they televise the first race.
Just checked so far Baaeed hasn’t matched any of Frankel’s top 10 speed figures and his highest RPR comes 8th in comparison.
    good luck to all

To be fair, it is fair to compare Baaeed to Frankel in as much as their winning runs / (supposed) invincibility… Just not in ability / ratings.

Baaeed is bred to stay 1m2f so there is a chance he will improve.
Many horses bred to stay further who’ve had so much speed at lesser distances – despite breeding – don’t stay. However, the reason those don’t stay is usually because the horse does not settle well enough.

Of course there is a chance Baaeed does not stay today, but the fact he settles so well at a mile means he’s got an excellent chance of showing his form or even improving on it.

That said, the current odds don’t look value to me.

High Definition is the only pace that I can see. However, at 1m2f High Definition’s best form in the Tatts Gold Cup suggests he needs a strong pace in order to produce his best. Likely to be swamped for speed if setting a slowish pace so it probably won’t be in his favour to mess about. Although is possible he might pinch a few lengths at the start as others are making sure their mounts settle.

I’ve backed Mishriff and High Definition both ew.

Not really my type of race, but I’ve always liked Sir Busker, so even with full acceptance beforehand that he’ll be outclassed, I couldn’t leave him alone EW at this price.

Baeed got a rash on his neck. Trainer told off for not producing a vet certificate. On course vet said not contagious.

Phenominal, has cemented his place in the high 130s now

    Well deserved

    Will get 136 for that

Was heavily, heavily against him in play also!

Form held down by the third being so close after fluffing the start, but undoubtedly impressive.

When a horse travels up like that in a big group 1 race, it sends shivers.

Nathan a mile and a half in a bog have my doubts. If October is a bog at Ascot he could go back to a mile.

Exactly what I thought – makes it hard to believe Mishriff ran to his OR.

But Baaeed was undoubtedly impressive – that’s still probably his career best in my opinion.

And maybe missing the break was no great handicap as High Definition set a kamikaze pace judging by the way he faded out of it.
