Thanks guys – just catching up on what happened as we were out all day. Note to self and others – always back sons and daughters of Nathaniel when it is soft. Like Dad, they thrive on it.
Also a round of applause for Charlie Hills. I love the way he is handling Magical Memory – running him in a couple of weaker races to build his confidence. The Henry Cecil trick. Watch out for MM next time in better company.

July 26, 2017 at 14:11 #1311413A couple of fun ew’s today. I see a Nathaniel 2 year old is 50-1 in the opener at Lingfield. It doesn’t look a great race and she will like the ground. And later my old friend Bahamadan is back in easier company and should go well.
£25ew Mirror Magic – 50-1 – 2.20 Lingfield lost
£25ew Bahamadan – 12-1 – 3.20 Lingfield lost

July 27, 2017 at 14:16 #1311488A few nice Nathaniel types out at Sandown today Joni:
Joshua Reynolds in the 2.30 really impressed at Newmarket last time out and is worth following up and later in the 3.40 Roger Charlton’s Eynhallow will be a short priced fav to see off Silver Ghost. In the 4.10 Tomorrow Mystery completes the trio, this is her Handicap Debut and she has run two decent 2nds on the All Weather to be 2nd over 12f and 10f, the drop back to 9f should suit and she could spring a surprise. So just a little Patent on those 3 today.
Been waiting for TAJAANUS 3.05 Sandown to come out again after being full of running with nowhere to go last time at Newmarket, confident she is going to run a big race today and Sheik Hamdam’s horses are flying at the moment. My best bet today, not a bad card considering Ascot and Goodwood up and coming.
Good luck with any bets you have today Joni and great racing coming up in the next week, will be in N. Ireland for most of the Goodwood meeting but lots of betting shops around so will be keeping up with the action..Jac

Cracking tipping!
July 27, 2017 at 15:18 #1311495Thanks Gun, it’s been a long time coming been down a black hole for a while but nail biting finish for Tajaanus she has a bit of speed just needed the gaps to come right, couldn’t be more pleased with this one and still a couple more to go, Paddy ‘s on the run today.

Well done you! Just shows the benefit of watching the placed horses in a race and seeing who met trouble in running etc..
I have a little win bet on Finishing Touch in the next at Sandown. I was impressed with this filly first time up and think she is better than 81.
£50 win Finishing Touch – 15-8 – 7.35 Newbury lost

July 28, 2017 at 08:42 #1311566Thanks Joni I really think Tajaanus would have won at Newmarket had she got that clear run that day and she has some speed about her,, thank goodness she has a long nose

Another filly I spotted at Newmarket last time out and running in the 1.40 at Ascot today is Prince Khaled’s Indicia by Bated Breath out of a Sadlers Wells mare so she should like the ground. She is a typical beautifully looking Prince Khaled filly and I think she might be a classic contender for next year, today will tell.
John Gosden has Nathra running in the 3.20 back for her first run this year and she will definitely go on the ground and does well first time out, so that’s my double with some of my winnings from yesterday and fingers well and truly crossed.Wish I could be at Ascot today with UAE King running also and the above fillies it looks like a really good days racing, good luck if you are having a bet..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 28, 2017 at 12:26 #1311587Good stuff Jac. I was hoping to get to Ascot today but we are off on our hols tomorrow so the wife has me doing chores in the house ;(
Anyway I’ll follow you in on that Indicia – the booking of Ryan Moore takes the eye as well! I am also on Mittens and UAE King later on the card and a few quid on Ajman Princess at York who should find this race easier than the last one. I hear what you say about Nathra and she does go well fresh and is the best filly in the race but I have backed a lot of JG’s this year and Frankie is never hard on them. I just feel Mittens is a big improver and is race fit. Anyway – best of luck!!!
£50 win Indicia – 5-2 – Ascot 1.40 lost
£100 win UAE King – 11-8 – Ascot 2.45 winner
£50ew Mittens – 7-2 – Ascot 3.20 lost
£50 win Ajman Princess – 5-2 – 7.30 York lost

A couple of nice winners for Frankel today and his progeny certainly seem to be getting better with experience. Also very interesting that they stay till the cows come home!!!
I’m off tomorrow for a whole month can you believe?! Really looking forward to stepping off the world for a while and enjoying some family time. I’ll keep abreast of the racing but won’t be able to have any bets. So tomorrow is my last chance to have a bet for a while and I have been patiently watching the weather and waiting to play my hand in one of my favourite races. The King George conjures up so many great memories and tomorrows race looks a classic. There are several horses I really like – Benbatl could easily run a big race on ground he will like. Ulysses has done nothing but improve and could go close. Highland Reel is a favourite of mine and would be the selection if the ground was quick. His brother Idaho is really starting to come into his own and could be a player. Jack Hobbs looked absolutely awesome in Meydan and can surely be forgiven his last run on quick ground over an inadequate trip. And then you have the brilliant filly who looks like she has everything in her favour. Enable is a dual classic winner, stays all day and will love that bit of juice. Obviously these are by far the toughest opponents she has taken on so far but she gets that lovely weight allowance and she must surely take all the beating. The question has to be – at 11-8 is she value? I have decided that she is just too short to be having a big bet on. She may well win but I think there are enough very good horses in the race to make this difficult for her.
So I am going for her stablemate in the hope that he can repeat the form he showed at Meydan. We take off at 4pm so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze in the race beforehand. Whatever happens I am sure it will be a great race and one to be remembered.
£100ew Jack Hobbs – 5-1 – King George lost
£25rev f/c Jack Hobbs and Enable"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
July 28, 2017 at 23:50 #1311662Unlucky Indicia was a touch green today I thought when she had every chance and got bumped by the winner at one point. Jouisi who won was 4th in the race at Newmarket where Juliet Capulet ran 3rd to Poetic Charm with Sizzling 2nd so she is very useful.
Should also have followed up on On Her Toes who won the 3.20 where you backed Mittens and I backed Nathra.
On Her Toes ran 3rd 2 weeks ago in the Bedford Lodge at Newmarket in the race won by Inshiraah from Gymnaste (who both meet again tomorrow) but I’m going against both of them for Martyn Meade’s Cartographer to win again back against her own sex this time, bit of a chance but still have faith in this filly.
What a great distance horse UAE King is turning out to be and what a great turn of foot he has after 2 miles, very impressive. Difficult to place him but surely he must be in with a chance to win the St. Leger after that display.
Good luck with Jack Hobbs and Enable (forecast) tomorrow Joni, I can’t back against Enable surely she must win.
Have a great holiday, don’t forget us poor devils in the rain soaked UK
