It was a strange race , the switch by the jockeys at the start , Gaelic given an easy lead , the rest playing follow the leader

That horse has a serious engine to do that and then battle back after being headed….but I do worry whether in doing it that way he has just left his King George chances there.

Plenty of grit by Gaelic Warrior there.

It makes you think Mullins was using this as a prep for how he wants Gaelic to run in the KG

Was on Gaelic Warrior for last seasons King George at 14/1 then Willie being the crook he is, pulls him out. I said he was the biggest certainty since Kauto Star.

I honestly hope he’s beat in it this year.

Willie has been choosing the wrong races all the time with this horse. He’s a stone or more better going left handed yet he persisted with running him at Leopardstown where the horse absolutely hates.

Racing UK intimated the pace wasn’t that strong and they left Gaelic Warrior to do his thing, if that is the case he may not have done his King George’s chances any harm in respect of whether having a hard race today.

I think he will be ridden colder in the King George, today was 2 miles 3.

He’s shown his best side today Hughsie but FTF is still the better horse , the GC winner fat as a pig and the rest of the Mullins horses staying back as told , if Fastorslow has had a slow build up then they’ll be delighted with him

If Jukebox is given an easy lead then they may well not plug him back

HDLG, I wouldn’t be sure that Fact To File is the better horse. Gaelic Warrior is an absolute beast going right handed and always has been. Fact To File is the much better of the two going left handed.

Jukebox is some horse if he holds off the King George horses, I don’t see it myself but stranger things have happened on the racetrack.

Was the better horse.. The beast is in his prime now
Gaelic Warrior had an easy lead granted but also credit to him for not running away especially first time out.. He’s more tractable and jumped clean bar one sort of mistake down the back where he hit it.

Well done Nathan :yahoo: and all on Gaelic Warrior.
Haven’t watched the race yet but it sounds as though GW abd FTF had a good battle to the line..Jac :rose:

Triptych I don’t think Nathan backed him today, if he did he kept it quiet ;o)

Who’s achieved more … FTF , let’s not forget Gaelic didn’t even make Cheltenham last season , it was set up lovely for him , Walsh even gave Townsend the rail at the start , he gave him an easy lead and Townsend got a breather in before the fight at the end , Gaelic is a talented horse on his day but we all know he throws in stinkers to , FTF is much more straight forward

Race time slow by just 5.50s on ground officially soft to heavy (heavy in places) so he clearly wasn’t dwardling along in front.

RaceIQ shows out of the 5 metrics measured, GW was first in three (Lengths Gained Jumping, Top Speed and Entry Speed) and third in the other two (Jump Index and Speed Lost).

Just a special horse when on song
