HDLG
Kauto Star achieved loads more than Denman yet you have Denman down as the better horse because of the overall head to head score
in this case its 1-1, doubt they’ll meet again unless they both go King George but I’d assume Mullins will keep FTF at homeGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 23, 2025 at 15:36 #1745450I’m here with Nathan all the way. Backed Gaelic Warrior just for the GC at 14/1 win only. Today surely wasn’t the day you would expect him to win, but he still did it.
He is in his prime and will be improving until Christmas. Plus he clearly is a spring horse, a real battler and beat the Ryanair winner at his trip.
There will be no British horse he’d have to worry about in the KG. This was a proper G1 and if everybody else who finished 30 lengths+ behind him will come on for the run, so will GW.November 23, 2025 at 15:41 #1745451Hughsie neither of those horses ran stinkers like Gaelic , Willie didn’t even bother with Cheltenham last year , he’s had to build him back up , you may think Gaelic is better , fair enough , but FTF has so far delivered more , Jesus his worst run was 4th at the end of the season with a bad cut , he’s teak , Gaelic will always have a question mark with me , he’s every right to be favourite for the KG but they rest assured he won’t get a easy lead there

We were never going to see Inothewayurthinkin at his best in this, an 18-1 shot for a Gold Cup winner tells the story. He’s still the one to beat in the GC imo though having Gaelic in there adds some spice. Gavin Cromwell is currently running at just a 1% strike rate.
November 23, 2025 at 15:45 #1745454He is , let’s be brutal here he put the winner of the prev 2 to bed last year in 3 strides , wouldn’t amaze me if he didn’t win again until lining up in the GC again

November 23, 2025 at 15:46 #1745455Gaelic Warrior is 3/3 since Mullins got him back on track
FTF is a beast too, no doubting that but has won 1 of his last 5 races so isn’t unbeatenGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 23, 2025 at 15:48 #1745456HDLG i wouldn’t rule him out of the Savills Chase next month depending on the Cromwell form, with Gaelic and possibly Fastorslow going King George.

Didn’t say that, but the Cromwell horse will have to be at his very best to repeat his GC win. I know that the stable is badly out of form, but the horse with the most inconsistent form remains Inothewayurthinkin. Just remember how easily GDC beat him last season with the exception of a GC on fast ground.
November 23, 2025 at 15:50 #1745458Inothewayurthinkin is obviously the top Gold Cup horse
I’m on Gaelic at 33’s so backing him at that price his chances on winning were low, Cheltenham isn’t an ideal course for him either but no reason why at his age he can’t improve on previous season where he was a bit of an unreliable headcase. Horses develop at different stages, they mature and Garlic Bread looks like he’s fresh out the ovenGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 23, 2025 at 15:51 #1745459Ruby he was hidden all season , the last run before the GC being a prime example , it will be difficult but he’s still a young horse

November 23, 2025 at 15:54 #1745461Well, let’s wait and see how the season will unfold. We could have a Savills, a KG, an Irish Gold Cup and a Cheltenham GC for the ages. Would be great to see one or two British raiders going over to Ireland.
It was a very promising start to the NH season, not to compare with the unspectacular Flat seasons we had in recent years.November 23, 2025 at 15:59 #1745462I agree , I wouldn’t discount Fastorslow either , if he has had a soft prep then he ran really well today ( Heart Wood is a decent stick to judge with ) and GDC will no doubt still have a say , really cracking season ahead , fingers crossed they all stay sound
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 23, 2025 at 15:59 #1745463The Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, beaten 50 lengths behind the front pair.
But if he wins again at Cheltenham, it will be a case of “good old JP and Cromwell getting it right when it matters”. With no questions asked.
November 23, 2025 at 16:04 #1745464Yes, CAS. Even the RP loves that. Once a year they bring back those old Brough Scott articles form 10-15 years ago about how great JP is and how he likes to land a gamble and so on….
November 23, 2025 at 16:05 #1745465CAS to be fair he was well camouflaged by the Mullins non triers ….
