Frenchy I think Benbetl limit on ground is good to soft but ideally good and better. To be fair his ascot run was on heavy ground what is very different to today’s ground.

Saeed vowed after the Ascot run on heavy ground to never run him on that type of ground again. If he is running then he handles today’s ground simple.
Benbatl will train on all types of ground, Saeed knows whether to run him or not and there is no way he runs his superstar if his superstar is not able to do himself justice.

Yep Mike i know, this was in relation to the “peak of his powers” comment from Robbo.

I see Jack. I have no chance now, just picked the last two winners at Newmarket without a penny on them. My thinking was they were only backing Monday to evens because it was trained by O’Brien. That’s how the cookie crumbles.

    Isabella Giles looks very professional

I was sitting there hoping she’d hit 5/2-11/4 as that was the price I thought would be value and worth a bet

Unfortunately she never got there but enjoyed watching her win anyway

The obrein fav looked completely out of her comfort zone, whether that was the track or the step up in grade hard to say

    Utterly ridiculous logic that.

If he knows so much, he would’ve known not to have run him at Ascot

Anyway, enough of the Benbatl argument. He’s a very good horse, big danger, I can’t see anything other than Benbatl or Kameko winning this

If it’s max bet material, you’d be betting again surely regardless!?

Tilsit may be the one for 2nd place I wouldn’t bank on Kameko making the top 2 here though he may end up a distant 2nd. I would imagine Kameko will probably finish 4th today at a guess. No need to guess about today’s winner however.

That result was ok I still come out of the race in a profit. I wonder if the last 2f being good to soft did benbatl.

Murphy getting a bit carried away here. “No other 3yo miler in history could have given 5lb to Benbatl”.

Perhaps a bit emotional getting a bit of Goodwood redemption.

Didn’t look a great performance. Still not convinced Kameko likes ground like that. Hard to know whether the performance was more due to the weight or the ground.

Either way, it’s almost going to be impossible to have confidence in him for the QEII. Hopefully he’ll go away for the season now and come back next year.

Benbatl ran like a 6 year old that’s been off the track for a year. How many 6 year olds come back from 12 months off and win a Grp2. Was always going to be a question mark, rather than just saying he did it last year so ok to do it again.

Regal Reality’s closeness on that ground probably says Benbatl ran well below his best.

It was a very good performance. You cant expect to beat a 125 horse going away by miles with a penalty on ground that wasn’t his optimum.
