Can you imagine the horn blowing and footstomping in the Racing Post if Galileo was at the Godolfin stud? I have been searching for the headlines about his achievements this year without success.Five classic winners this year and three to go and silence. The best kept secret in racing.
June 12, 2011 at 22:40 #360377Hold me up…..
The complete lack of press coverage of Galileo and Coolmore Dominance in the Classics is shameful.
They have won by my accounts 7 out of the 9 Classic’s in Europe…getting numerous placed horse’s such as Together,Treasure Beach etc.
If Darley had this we never hear the end of it…already Teofilo is being completely overhyped although he has made a decent start just like Dubawi was and Sharamadal. How can it surprise you though…Sheikh Mo has his cronies in every part of British racing(expensive free media trips to Dubai).
June 12, 2011 at 22:49 #360378Seems like the contributors to this site must also be in the embrace of prince Mo.Five classics by Galileo including wonder horse Frankel and brilliant filly Golden Lilac and nobody noticed but a few ould codgers.
June 12, 2011 at 23:17 #360382We even have Jim McGrath writing for the Telegraph saying that Pour Moi was a much needed boost for Coolmore??
I am embarrased for that man and his verbal gibberish.
June 13, 2011 at 02:52 #360409How embarrased they would have been if the Galileo had won.So far Coolmore failed to get one classic winner in England-the One Thousand Guineas. I suppose that is consideres a bad year by Jim’estimate! The Leger is still to come but that has become the Godolfin goal in recent years.
June 13, 2011 at 04:24 #18905Henry is more important to many but the question is has he contributed more to racing?. Is Galileo worthy of "SIR" hood to join Galahad just like Sir Henry joined Stouty.I say yes.Galileo has contributed more to racing than Henry so he should be Sir Galileo. What do you say?

Andyod
opens interesting possibilities. I think, for example, that in the light of the town’s elevation to the status of Royal Peculiar,
Wootton Bassett
should be renamed
Royal Wootton Bassett
.
June 13, 2011 at 07:45 #360424If equine knighthoods were being awarded then his dear old dad Sadler’s Wells would be first in line in my opinion.
June 13, 2011 at 08:20 #360430A very peculier thread eh Pinza?

The Darley Arabian – OM
Roselier – Honorary Knight Commander Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath
June 13, 2011 at 08:26 #360431Nasrullah, Northern Dancer and Mr Prospector surely candidates for a posthumous award of sorts.

The Darley Arabian – OM
Roselier – Honorary Knight Commander Grand Cross of the Order of the BathVery peculiar indeed! Until we remember (as is our wont) that Emperor Caligula had his Group 1 Racehorse
Incitatus
declared a Senator. He was given a marble stable, ivory manger, gold flakes with his bran buckets and attended by 18 virgin ephebes to muck him out and exercise him.
So
Andyod
is only following a good old Roman tradition.
June 13, 2011 at 13:54 #360470Where are the Chips??
Clearly anyone Racing Journo worth his salt would have picked this story up. The British and Irish Press to a greater extent don’t pay enough tribute to sire of sire’s from Coolmore rather than sticking every little sly dig they can over what they have not won.
June 13, 2011 at 13:59 #360471mmmmm – not sure I can buy this "poor old Coolmore" line! Headline in the Racing Post bloodstock section today should cheer you up!

June 13, 2011 at 14:01 #360472No certainly not "poor Coolmore"….but undeserved hype for unproven Darley Sire’s
June 13, 2011 at 14:02 #360473Also i refuse to buy the Racing Post as i do not indulge in Red Top Rags.
