Reluctant to have another in this, as my Antepost on Ontheropes was a bigger one. Not concerned with my bet on Digby, as he was a token gesture, given he was always against the weather, but I’d like that Ontheropes cash back.

Decided to go with Churchstonewarrior. Not sure of his full ability, and I think he’s still a wee bit unexposed. Early unseat on seasonal debut, but although pulled up in The Savills (bet him), he was hardly given a hard time either. His weight on this ground is an obvious concern, but I think he’s potentially decent, and happy to go with him EW. Hoping to beat 40’s

With Desertmore House out, I wasn’t going to have a bet in this one. However decided to have a token bet EW 6 places on Hartur D’Arc and We’llhavewan.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.

Is it unusual for JP to only have one runner in the race?

Gonna be a brutal test this

    Can’t imagine many will finish

Was very bullish about nick rockett. He definitely has 10lbs in hand.

But that weight on this ground really dampens enthusiasm

All JP’s stayers are in the Aintree Grand National, Moehat.

tbh Am surprised Meetingofthewaters wasn’t sent here…
And last year’s winner I Am Maximus should be here because he can’t jump.

    WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Some consistent runs and winning the trial is a pretty good marker as is the jockey booking.
    Win
    DUNBOYNE
    Each way
    A standout performance early doors.
Elliot MO exposed at Cheltenham time and time again year after year and I said in 23 and again in 24 it was barely plausible for this excellent jockey to ride so few or no winners for this trainer and yet win at will at Dundalk and in England for other trainers and so it proved at Prestbury Park last month. Pulled up the last twice.

Bit of a meh race this year.
Can’t trust any of the Elliott horses as don’t know which are over the lurgy and which not.
I keep going through them but can’t find anything I really like.
Added a small bet on Minella Cocooner, more because I’d be annoyed at missing him, but it depends a lot on him settling and jumping, he has a lot of weight and the stable comments pretty much say he’s not going to win.
    Senior Chief 12-1 ew
    Minella Cooconer 28-1 ew

Be interesting to see what the pace is like here.
Intense Raffles and Minella Cocooner the most probable to make it, but wouldn’t really be in their interests to make it a true pace. Maybe they’ll slow it down? Looking at previous years, Gigginstown seem to like their runners ridden prominently.
Senior Chief is usually ridden prominently – hope he is today – but going up in trip will they want to keep him back?

I wanted to be against Hartur Darc this morning.
But every horse has its price.
Could not resist some 30 on the machine.

Nice horse that, could be one for Aintree next year seeing as him only being a 6yo and probably will be in the right sort of rating range next season. WD winners.

    Well done Chivers and VF.
Brilliant for a smaller trainer to win and maybe earn him some more double green horses.
Fabulous run from Any Second Now on ground I don’t think he loves, and Minella Cocooner ran a cracker under Danny Mullins.

Ginge I liked Hartur D’arc but I think sometimes when the market is so far against what you expected its a major red flag to just leave them completely. I saw something similar on Good Friday from Oh So Grand fully expecting her to be fav and she drifted from a morning price of 7/2 out to an SP of 11/1. I know drifters do win but this wasn’t just a drift because others were backed, it stunk to be frank.
