Market up for this, but not a great guide really, and not helped by the entries not out. Expecting them this week though, and I’ll be keen for a bet at the entry stage.

Two big fancies of mine, Digby, and Ontheropes both out this week, and be interested to see what they open at if in the entries.
Digby runs tomorrow, and I think he’s the type who could go here. He really needs to win tomorrow to get in, and the problem there, is that it’ll raise his profile if he does. I’d much rather the entries were out just now, as I reckon I’d get a nice price
Ontheropes an old favourite, and I’m very keen on him for this. I’ll be less keen if he wins The Leinster National though, so he won’t be bet immediately for this, and I’ll have to wait until after Naas. My definite #1 for this though right now.
He could take on Any Second Now next week, and though I’m coming round to the fact that he’d be susceptible to much younger legs, his current mark means I can’t totally rule him out here.
Others I like are Kilcruit, Inothewayurthinkin, and Diol Ker.
Kilcruit is a bit of a forgotten horse, and would really need a prep. I’d love to see him go for The Bluegrass Chase at Down Royal in a fortnight. Diol Ker I reckon is a winner waiting to happen, while Inothewayurthinkin would probably well found pretty quickly, and might not be much of an Antepost price.
I do also like Read To Return, but even if he won at Cheltenham or Uttoxeter, which he would have to do to get in here, this might come too soon afterwards anyway.
All immaterial just now of course, with only an unrealistic market to go by, and no entries to go by, but I’ll definitely have a go on one at entry stage, which I’m assuming is this week
Early Shortlist
Digby
Kilcruit
OntheropesMarch 19, 2024 at 15:45 #1687406Entries………
Sempo really caught the eye amongst those entries, but it would be some ask this.
I’m still keen on the original pair of Digby, and Ontheropes, while Three Card Brag comes right into it, after missing Cheltenham. Not sure what to make of that, as he had his ground, but this perhaps the plan all along.
I’ve mentioned Any Second Now a few times for this, and off his mad mark, he has to be taken seriously, despite not really fitting the profile.
Was hoping not to see Stattler in the entries, but did seem kind of inevitable. A proper regular of mine, who I won’t be able to ignore.
Digby is way too big at 40’s, but might not get in, and there’s a risk of losing money if he’s declared elsewhere, so my first bet will definitely be Ontheropes, despite him having other options, and I’ll have a decent go on him, regardless of other entries. Just trying to beat 40’s
Shortlist
Stattler
Three Card BragJust went for it……
Any Second Now 40’s
Digby 40’s
Ontheropes 50’sMarch 20, 2024 at 15:01 #1687534Good Time Jonny is my main ante-post just now at 20-1. I think that 20-1 is a good bit wide of the mark
I think that this is the only race that’s suitable in the near future for Churchstonewarrior, so I’ve had a smaller punt his way at 33-1
March 20, 2024 at 15:22 #1687536Desertmore house my early pick here, has some nice wins in the form book and ran a nice race over hurdles latest.
Don’t think it will make the cut for aintree so i think they will come here instead.
20/1 each way 4 places.
March 20, 2024 at 18:24 #1687556My ew 2…
Nick Rockett 6-1. 5 places.
Yeah Man 12-1. 5 places.March 20, 2024 at 18:45 #1687560The Bobby fanbase have clearly been punting AnySecondnow – no sign of the 40s that was there this morning now. 20s best price
March 20, 2024 at 18:54 #1687561Can see why nick rockett is fav
Could be thrown in off 146
Unexposed, track experience, solid jumper, master trainer, townend will be on
There’s not much not to like
Could see him going off 11/4-10/3 unless there’s a JP plunge horse
March 20, 2024 at 20:03 #1687571Only one so far Nick Rockett

March 24, 2024 at 07:41 #1688168And thankfully I didnt play , Aintree here we come , I know Bobby will be just as happy , this has been a plot job over a year in the making , he absolutely mullered Vaniller at Cheltenham giving him tons of weight , rock solid form and still 40s available
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 24, 2024 at 19:36 #1688207I can see NICK ROCKETT and INTENSE RAFFLES almost halving in price by decs so have allowed a fair bet on both each way 5 places.
Apart from YEAH MAN and HARTUR D’ARC the form on offer for the rest is a bit stinky. I’ve stuck with the former two as horses for courses is the play.NICK ROCKETT 4/1
INTENSE RAFFLES 7/1March 25, 2024 at 19:20 #1688276Yes chibers1987 Nick Rockett and Intense Raffles are the two I have antpost

March 25, 2024 at 22:09 #1688302Senior Chief is a good looking horse who has run some nice races so far in reasonable company. I don’t think the handicapper has been too vicious, and he’s Henry de Bromhead’s only entry. He’s my first bet at 12s with boylesports.
March 25, 2024 at 22:35 #1688304I did consider Intense Raffles. He is a front runner I think, for such a young inexperienced horse one wonders if he will last home and hold everything off. I went with Nick Rockett and Yeah Man in the end who are likely to be played late if good enough.
March 27, 2024 at 18:55 #1688464The seven horses who were taken out of the race at the latest stage were Ontheropes, Tullybeg, Fakir D’Alene, Grandero Bello, Brideswell Lad, Paul Marvel and Dorking Cork
