Bulwark, forget that stupid Algebra formula you have developed for assessing the chances of Danehill dancers progeny! Mastercraftsman has won and will win on any ground he encounters! The only thing that beat him at Newmarket was the fact he was less than 90% fit! As long as i have
a reputation for being a fine judge of the thorough bred race horse then you will see the Master stepped up to 11/4m this year! He will also be kept in training at 4yo and do a Duke of Marmalade! culminating in actually winning the Arc though!

Well mate I would suggest you take the Guineas form and throw it out the nearest window.

My reasons are really quite simple. Murtagh chose RVW over Mastercraftsman when the whole racing world was convinced he would ride him.

While word got out JM was going to ride RVW and a bit of a gamble started on him it simply wasn’t sutained.

There was no real confidence behind RVW who went off at 9/2 and even less behind Mastercraftsman who went off at 7/1.

Clearly going into the Guineas one time fav Mastercraftsman wasn’t fancied one iota and most likley ran as expected.

To compare and prefer Delegator who had already won a race and was heavily supported against a horse who wasn’t fancied and was most likely not 100% is turning a blind eye to the obvious IMO

Especially when the other one is trained by AOB and has just had a 20 length turnaround in form with you.

I honestly think Delegator has had his day and Mastercraftsman will go on to great things this season.

I doubt if Delegator will even run in the JPS, SMS is apparantly now favouring the 7f Jersey Stakes fror Evasive, Richard Hannon says despite Soul City badly needing a run he will not take Mastrcraftsman on again. Those who think Silver Frost will come over to take him on can forget it, it just isn’t going to happen, his trainer has already said he doesn’t like the race and to be honest I doubt very much if he thinks he’s is good enough.

This race should be renamed the AOB benevolant fund. He’s won it 8 times and any price odds against about Mastercraftsman is an absolute steal.

AOB number 9 is just around the corner

Well I’m quite confident that you’s will be proven wrong come ascot, provided a half reasonable field turns up.

Also when a horse fails to act on a surface it isnt really worth taking the form too literally, when the two are likely to meet again on the beaten horses prefered ground.

When Mastercraftsman was ran a stinker at newmarket I backed him for the curragh, because I expected him to be better on the cut (to be fair though he was hard to oppose with the opposition on the day, as there looked to be very little serious opposition likely to handle the ground).

I only hope Delegator and Naaqoos line up at ascot and the rest will be inevitable as they put this mediocre mud lover well and truly back in his box.

The only thing I fear about Mastercraftsman is that a few people on here will end up severely out of pocket over him, but in fairness I have tried my best to warn y’all…

A very smart, workmanlike horse with a distinct preference to The Curragh (that’s 5-from-5 for those of you playing at home).

If he’s going to the St James’ Palace next, Excellent Art would outsprint him/outclass him, Henrythenavigator would outsprint him/outclass him, Araafa, Shamardal etc etc I think you get the picture.

He will have a lot to prove away from The Curragh, on a good/good-to-firm mile course which appeals to speedier types. And that doesn’t warrant a bet at anything shorter than 5/1.

    Good luck.
