hi KT,
your summing up of Hugh and Kerrin is what I imagined. I thought you would know them and be familiar with their styles. You’ll have to enlighten me on ‘slather and whack’ though… that’s really made me chuckle, I’ve never heard of such a term…..is it Aussie?September 9, 2007 at 12:29 #114141Yep it’s Aussie! A term for a jockey who’s not afraid to let fly with the stick a thousand times in the run home. Personally I think it should be banned completely
– that’d sort the men from the boys
September 9, 2007 at 16:28 #114167Ugly Mare – I was in the States but now have a job in London and I do too many political things for my own good, hence not as much time to watch racing (esp with no RUK subscription), or post on here.
Racing is my no.1 release in life so I’ll always be knocking around, unless I go back to the USA cos I do miss the Root Beer floats

As for people spelling badly on this forum, it annoys me but purely aesthetically. I accept not everyone is a complete literary/grammar boff like me, and I sometimes get it wrong just like most people do.

yeah, that’ll be the day…although I’m not totally against it I do find the most ‘slather and whack’
comes from the U.S jockeys in their home country. Sometimes makes uncomfortable viewing.September 9, 2007 at 19:27 #114197Ugly Mare – I was in the States but now have a job in London and I do too many political things for my own good, hence not as much time to watch racing (esp with no RUK subscription), or post on here.
oh right, well I hope you enjoy your new job, exciting times ahead for you
Would you like to be a politician later on perhaps, do you think?September 9, 2007 at 22:23 #114220Are you two falling in love???

You get strung up in Singapore for putting a knife in the fork drawer, so I don’t think they’re going to be any more tolerant of the union you’re suggesting here, Colin.

September 10, 2007 at 02:12 #114244At last count I think Amnesty reported that more than 475 prisoners have been hanged in Singapore since 1991
We hang on average 3 a month
Most of those executed were convicted of drug trafficking while others were executed for murder or firearms offences. These offences carry a mandatory death penalty………What am I doinggggggggggg here ?
