Ballinrobe. Monday
Feigh (Paul) is second reserve for the 3YO maiden hurdle over 2 miles. We would be hoping for a good run if she gets in. She has schooled nicely at home and there’s plenty of stamina in her pedigree.
Valley Breeze (Aubrey McMahon) goes for the 2m 6f maiden hurdle. He has been off the track for two years but we have been happy with him at home and he is ready to start back. He won’t find it easy after such a long layoff but he has a decent each-way chance here.
August 12, 2021 at 09:12 #1554600Gelee Blanche (Paul) runs in the beginners chase over 2m 5f. She was disappointing at Limerick last time so we are going to try different tactics with her today. She will like the ground and won a maiden hurdle here so we know she will handle the track. She has an each-way chance.
Walking Fame (Paul) has her first run for us in the 2 mile handicap hurdle. She will like this ground and we think she will handle the track. She hasn’t run since October last year but she is fit and ready to start back here. We expect her to be competitive.
Fan Fan La Tulipe (Paul) goes for the 2m 4f rated novice hurdle over 2m 4f. It’s hard to make a case for him on form and he is probably best watched here.
We have two runners in the Ladies Maiden over 2 miles. Beret Rouge (Jody Townend) was very slow out of the stalls when unplaced in a flat maiden at the Galway Festival. We are expecting a much better performance today and expect her to go very close. Dani Barcelona (Niamh Fahey) met trouble in running in a bumper at Galway and will improve on that run here. Her dam won three times around this track and with the aid of her rider’s claim she might get involved at the business end today.
August 21, 2021 at 11:29 #1557690Mt Leinster (Jason Watson) goes for the Ebor Handicap over 1m 6f. We skipped Galway to run here and he will love this trip and ground. He hasn’t got a great draw but he’s in terrific form and must have a fantastic each-way chance.
Well Mullins is the master of understatement, and he doesn’t mince his words here.
I haven’t looked at the trends but initial assessment is to take the hint and back
Mt Leinster each way.August 27, 2021 at 22:09 #1558294Willie did it again…..
Deavuille 26th August
Burning Victory (Franc Blondel) runs in the 2 mile handicap. This is a tough ask with top weight but she travelled over well and we will be disappointed if she doesn’t finish in the first three. She has been in great form at home and will go on the ground.
Sadly, I didn’t check his website.
But Burning Victory was a decisive winner yesterday at Deauville.September 7, 2021 at 09:42 #1559393Galway races
Tuesday
Great White Shark (Gavin Ryan) runs in the Listed Oyster Stakes over 1m 4f. She loves this track and will handle the ground. She is not very well in on official ratings but we are hoping she might finish in the first three and get a bit of black type.Colin Keane takes the ride on Shewearsitwell in the 1m 4f fillies maiden. She is unbeaten in three runs so far and the fact that she won her bumper over this track is a plus. She is in good form and will handle the ground. Hopefully, this trip won’t be too sharp for her and she will be competitive.
Dropping back in trip to contest a flat race is not ideal for a grade three winning hurdler and this is likely to be a sharp prep race for an autumn target.
Madonna for Aidan O’Brien catches the eye. Off the track for over 300 days and finished in good position behind a 96 rated opponent. By Galileo, bred to get this trip.1 mile 4 maiden. 9/1.September 13, 2021 at 18:43 #1560415Today’s heads up is from mark usher
Kempton 8.15“Intoxication also goes up in trip to 12f for 1st time; very quietly progressive, look out for her outrunning the double figure prices this evening with the vfm claim @EllieMack93
helping her run on up the straight.”
Has been backed from low 20s into 16sHis heads ups are fairly decent and gave me a very good winner at Goodwood last week.
More often than not he highlights when he feels his horses may run into a place. On the right track won 10/1 at Goodwood
Intoxication just missed out in fourthOctober 7, 2021 at 15:34 #1562549Thurles
“Dani Barcelona (Shane Foley) goes for the 2 mile flat maiden. She was a bit disappointing over 1m 4f at Listowel last time but this longer trip will be much more to her liking. She will handle the ground and hopefully she will run a good race here.”
November 27, 2021 at 08:42 #1569309NEWBURY
We have three runners in the Ladbrokes Trophy Handicap Chase. Brahma Bull (Brian Hayes) is built to carry weight and the trip and track will suit. He is in good order but faces a stiff task having to concede weight all round. Jack Foley claims 5lbs off Annamix. He has the ability to win a race like this but his jumping often lets him down. Ontheropes (Sean O’Keeffe) was a good winner of the Munster National at Limerick last time. He jumps well enough and will love this trip. We are hoping he can emulate Total Recall who the Munster National a few years ago and then followed up by winning this race.
FAIRYHOUSE
Unexcepted (Mark Walsh) goes for the 2 mile handicap chase. We are prepared to draw a line through his last run at Killarney where he pulled up. He has a tough task with top weight but he is built to carry it. He should handle the ground and likes this track. He has an each-way chance.Adamantly Chosen (Danny) makes his hurdling debut in Division 1 of the 2 mile maiden hurdle. He won the Land Rover Bumper at the Punchestown festival and the form of that race has worked out very well. He will handle the ground and should be a big player here if he is straight enough to do himself justice.
Grangee (Bryan Cooper) makes her hurdling debut in Division 2. Her bumper form is very good and she jumps well. She will handle the ground and we expect her to run a big race today
Walking Fame (Bryan Cooper) runs in the 2m 4f handicap hurdle. She has been disappointing and prefers going left-handed even though she did win on a right-handed track. She is probably best watched today. The Nice Guy (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. He is a nice Fame And Glory gelding but this looks like a very hot contest. We will just have to see how he gets on.
December 4, 2021 at 10:04 #1570533Navan
Whatdeawant (Danny) makes his hurdling debut in division one of the maiden hurdle over 2m 4f. He jumps very well and this trip will be fine. His bumper form was very good and we think he will go very close here.We have four in the valuable Grade B Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles. Burning Victory (Danny) has a lot of weight to carry but she is a big mare so she should be able to carry it. She ran well in the Galway Hurdle and the experience she gained there will stand to her here. She needs to get her jumping together and hopefully she will have more time over her hurdles over this trip. She could be very well handicapped. Maze Runner has nice weight with Jack Foley’s 5lb claim. He will handle the ground and this trip will suit. He has a good each-way shot. Wearapinkribbon (Brian Hayes) and Captain Kangaroo (Sean O’Keeffe) both have light weights but look to have it all to do. We hope the softer ground might be a help to them.
We have two runners in the 2m 4f beginners chase. Blue Sari (Mark Walsh) is probably best watched with the form figures he has in front of his name. Keskonrisk (Danny) is a nice horse who is having his first run for us. He looks like the type to make a chaser and we will be very pleased if he can finish in the first four in this very hot beginners chase.
Sandown
Sandown 4th DecemberChacon Pour Soi (Patrick) goes for the Tingle Creek Chase over 2 miles. He has a lot in his favour here and has been pleasing us at home. His rivals have the advantage of recent runs and ideally we would prefer softer ground. However, we will be disappointed if he doesn’t give a real good account of himself.
Aintree
Elimay (Aidan Coleman) runs in the Listed Mares Chase over 2m 4f. The race conditions really suit and the recent rain is a big plus. The trip is perfect and we are confident of a big run.NAVAN 18 DECEMBER
Deploy The Getaway (Paul) goes for the 2 mile maiden hurdle. We were delighted with his run when he was second at Gowran last time. He was a shade unlucky there as he didn’t jump the last well. We’re not sure how he will handle this galloping track but nevertheless he should go very close. We have two with good chances in the 4YO maiden hurdle over 2 miles. Ha D’or (Brian Hayes) is a very difficult ride and proved a handful when running too free at Leopardstown in February. His previous third at Leopardstown over Christmas gives him a great chance here. This represents a drop in class for him. Belle Metal (Paul) is having her first run over hurdles but she has schooled nicely and must have a decent chance on her bumper form.
Minella Cocooner (Paul) runs in the 2m 4f maiden hurdle. He was second over 2 miles at Cork last time but they went no gallop that day and the longer trip today will suit better. He should come on for that run and should figure prominently here.
Ciel De Neige (Paul) goes for the rated novice chase over 2m 4f. This is a competitive race but he won his beginners chase well at Thurles and will be suited by the extra two furlongs here
Thurles
Sunday 19th December
We have two runners in the 3 mile beginners chase. Cavallino (Danny) jumps well at home but fell on his debut in a beginners chase at Gowran last time. He will like this trip and ground and hopefully he’ll get around safely this time. Stratum (Paul) ran well when third on his chasing debut over 2m 6f here last time. He will appreciate this longer trip and will handle the ground. With a little improvement today he should be a major player.Braganza (Paul) goes for the 2 mile listed mares novice hurdle. She won a maiden over this course and distance last month and hopefully this isn’t coming too soon for her. This is a step up for her and she will have to improve her jumping to take on these experienced mares. However, she needs practice if she is to prove top class for the rest of the season.
Eabha Grace (Jody Townend) makes her debut in division two of the mares bumper. She is a very well bred filly and we are looking forward to getting her on the track. She should be alright on the ground and hopefully she will go close.
December 26, 2021 at 08:39 #1574488Leopardstown
We have two runners with good chances in the opening 2 mile 4YO maiden hurdle. Hercule Du Seuil (Mark Walsh) is having his first run for us and gained valuable experience when second on his only run over hurdles in France. He is a good jumper and will like the ground. State Man (Paul) is a son of Doctor Dino and has a very similar profile. He also jumps well and we are looking forward to seeing how they both get on here.We are also double-handed in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. Goven (Mark Walsh) won twice on the flat in France and that experience will stand to him here. He will handle the ground and has schooled well. Sir Gerhard (Paul) won the Cheltenham Bumper and his schooling and homework has been very good. We expect him to go close.
We have two in the Grade 1 novice chase over 2m 1f. Ferny Hollow (Paul) won a beginners chase at Punchestown earlier this month and just might be coming back a bit quick. However, that race was over the minimum trip and he seems in very good form at home. Grand Bornand (Brian Hayes) had a little break after winning a beginners chase at Galway in July. He has come back well and is a course winner here. It won’t be easy for our horses to give nearly a stone to the experienced Riviere D’etel.
Fan De Blues (Paul) has a lot of weight in the 3m 1f handicap chase. He has plenty of experience and will like this trip and ground. He has an each-way chance.
Facile Vega (Patrick) makes his debut in the 4YO bumper. He is the second foal out of Quevega and is a fine stamp of a horse. He gallops well and we are looking forward to seeing him here.
Limerick
Henn See (Sean O’Keeffe) has his first run for us in the 2 mile 4YO maiden hurdle. He is a real chasing type who was second in a hurdle in France. He works well at home and will love this soft ground. We are hoping for the best. El Fabiolo is first reserve and will be a big player if he gets in. He is one to look forward to for the rest of the season.Jody Townend rides newcomer Cnoc Na Si in the mares’ bumper. She is a well bred filly who will like this ground. She goes well at home and won’t be far away at the business end.
Kempton
We have two runners in the King George Chase over 3 miles. Asterion Forlonge (Bryan Cooper) looked like he would have put it up to Allaho in the John Durkan before making a bad mistake and unseating Bryan Cooper at the third last. On that evidence he comes here with every chance. This will be his first time over a trip greater than 2m 4f and his pedigree is stamina laden so 3 miles should play to his strengths. If he jumps well he should be very competitive. Realistically, Tornado Flyer (Danny) has a lot to do if he is to get involved at the business end.December 28, 2021 at 10:30 #1575067Leopardstown
We have two runners making their hurdling debuts in the 4YO maiden hurdle over 2m 4f. Horantzau D’airy (Paul) won an AQPS race in France and that experience will stand to him here. He has schooled well at home. Heia (Bryan Cooper) also won an AQPS race and will benefit from her first experience of hurdling.
We have three declared for the Pertemps Qualifier Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles. Maze Runner (Paul) won a valuable handicap over this course and distance in February but could find it hard to replicate that feat with a lot more weight this time. He has an each-way chance. Authorized Art (Brian Hayes) has two solid runs over much shorter trips and really needs this test of stamina. He must have a great each-way chance. Dark Voyager (Jack Foley) disappointed over 2 miles last time and we are hoping this longer trip will bring some improvement.
We have four in the Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle over 3 miles. Klassical Dream (Paul) likes this trip and track. On his win in the Champion Stayers at the Punchestown festival he is the one to beat here but his lack of a recent run is a concern. Mr Adjudicator (Jack Foley) has been off the track for a long time and we will just have to see how he gets on today. Saldier (Brian Hayes) got a knock on the way to start at Fairyhouse last time so we are putting a line through that run. He should appreciate this trip and has a good each-way shout. Burning Victory (Rachael Blackmore) is better than her run at Navan last time but hasn’t got the rating to threaten the principals here.We also run four in the Grade 1 Savilles Chase over 3 miles. Franco De Port (Bryony Frost) won over 2m 1f here but really needs much further nowadays. He could be a surprise each-way prospect. Janidil (Mark Walsh) wasn’t mature enough for this trip in the Albert Bartlett but will get this trip now. His run in the John Durkan gives him a great shout here. Kemboy (Paul) and Melon (Patrick) ran crackers when second and third respectively in this race last year and both like this track and will act on the ground.
We have two runners in the 2m 5f beginners chase. Blue Sari (Mark Walsh) ran a very good race at Navan last time that form gives him an excellent chance here. Galopin Des Champs (Paul) is making his chasing debut but has schooled nicely at home. His overall hurdling form is very good but his lack of experience over fences is a worry.Redemption Day (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. He is a nice type by Blue Bresil who works well at home. It would be great if he could keep up our good recent run in bumpers.
Limerick
Gjoumi (Sean O’Keeffe) runs in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. She has been off the track for nearly a year and is probably best watched today.
Whiskey Lullaby (Sean O’Keeffe) has her first run for us in the 2m 5f maiden hurdle. She had placed form over fences when trained in England by Paul Nicholls and that form gives her a good chance of winning this maiden hurdle. She has been working well at home.
Concertista (Sean O’Keeffe) goes for the 2m 6f Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase. She did well to win a novice chase at Cork on her chasing debut and a reproduction of that form might be enough to get the job done here.
Data Breach (Jody Townend) runs in the bumper over 2m 2f. He was very disappointing on his debut in a bumper at Fairyhouse last month and hopefully Jody might be able to work her magic with him here. However, a watching brief today is probably the best advice.

22 January
My Sister Sarah (Paul) runs in the Grade 2 Mares Hurdle over 2m 7f. She’s not badly treated by the race conditions and needs this extended trip. She has a decent chance.Energumene (Paul) goes for the Clarence House Chase over 2 miles. He is in good order and travelled over well. This is an away match for us and that hands an advantage to Shishkin who will be racing on home soil. Hopefully both horses will come out of the race safe and sound.
NAVAN
Belle Metal (Danny) goes for division one of the 2m 4f maiden hurdle. This trip will be a big help to her but ideally she would prefer softer ground. However, she needs more racecourse experience and miles on the clock.Hybris (Danny) has his first run for us in division two. He is a half-brother to Bacardys and will like this drying ground and should handle the trip. Hopefully he will give a good account.
Cavallino (Danny) goes for the beginners chase over 3 miles. He ran very well when second to Stratum at Thurles last time and any improvement on that run should see him go close here. This trip will really suit him and he will love the ground.
Don Chalant (Patrick) has his first run for us in the bumper. He is a lovely big chasing type who was third in a Tipperary bumper before coming to us. He has matured nicely and will be suited by this galloping track. We are looking forward to seeing how he gets on today.February 13, 2022 at 09:24 #1582962Punchestown Sunday
We run two in the rated novice chase over 2 miles. Ciel De Neige (Mark Walsh) won over 2m 4f at Navan last time but we don’t think the drop back in trip today will be too much of an inconvenience. He enjoys jumping and will like the ground. He has to give weight away all round but he’s progressive and should be a big player here. Grand Bornand (Paul) can be forgiven for pulling up at Leopardstown last time. He bulldozed the first fence but jumped well enough after that. We will watch with interest to see how he gets on today.
Stones And Roses (Paul) goes for the 3m 4f handicap chase. He is improving and this race looks made for him. The combination of three and a half miles and soft ground will really play to his strengths. We are expecting a really big run.Deploy The Getaway (Paul) runs in the 2 mile listed novice hurdle. He jumps well and ran away with a maiden hurdle at Down Royal last month. This is a big step up in class but he might still be improving and is entitled to take his chance.
James’s Gate (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. He is a lovely big type to go jumping with later on. We haven’t got him very long but his work at home has been excellent. There are a few unknown quantities in opposition but we are really looking forward to seeing how he gets on. Hopefully he will continue the fantastic recent run of our bumper horses.

Should be good enough to win this.
Short price but mark Walsh up and improvement needed but still looks good here giving three pounds.Says Willie Mullins…….
“Goven (Mark Walsh) goes for the 2 mile rated novice hurdle. He won his maiden in good style over this course and distance last month and any improvement would give him a strong chance here. He handles testing conditions well but we don’t think he will be too inconvenienced by today’s better ground.”April 8, 2022 at 09:17 #1591947Aintree Friday
El Fabiolo (Paul) goes for the Grade 1 Novices Hurdle over 2 miles. He has had just one for one for us when he beat Tempo Chapter Two very easily in a maiden at Tramore on New Year’s Day. Tempo Chapter Two franked the form when winning at Fairyhouse next time. We skipped Cheltenham to come here and he has been working great at home. He lacks a little experience for a race like this but he will be really well suited by the ground and definitely goes here with a big chance.Royal Rendezvous (Paul) runs in the Topham Handicap Chase over 2m 5f of the National course. He faces a tall order with top weight but he is in very good form and could outrun his odds. Annamix (Danny) has been disappointing recently but he will handle the ground and will have no problem with the trip.
April 8, 2022 at 12:37 #1591987Jonbon along with first street look very hard to beat given their performances at Cheltenham.
But this looks an interesting newcomer for Mullins and I’ll put him in a combination forecast with the two Henderson runners along with a win bet on JONBON who has done little wrong.
Jonbon first street El Fabiolo
Combination forecast.
Win
JONBON.
El Fabiolo is a big rangy horse who could be anything. He did run well in a listed hurdle in France (3rd ) before coming to Ireland where he won a maiden hurdle in impressive fashion. The runner up stablemate Tempo chapter two winning next time out. He should not get near Jonbon but does come here fresh and unexposed.April 8, 2022 at 14:34 #1592040Well that went very well.
Great performance from Jonbon. But for being hampered though, I’ve a feeling the newcomer could have caused a real upset and looks a horse to follow. EL FABIOLO another good recruit from France for Mullins. - AuthorPosts
