GRAND NATIONAL DAY
Gentleman De Mee (Mark Walsh) runs in the Grade 1 Novices Chase over 2 miles. He takes on Edwardstone but we think he can put it up to the Arkle winner. Our fellow is improving all the time and won his last two races by wide margins. He will be suited by this track and ground and we are expecting him to go very close. We will have four runners in the Grand National over 4m 2f. This will be tough for Burrows Saint (Paul) on the back of his form this season. He ran a great race in this last year and maybe Aintree will revitalise him. However, it will be hard for him to reverse form with last year’s winner Minella Times. Class Conti (Sam Twiston-Davies) will be suited by the trip and ground but his recent form leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully, he might finish in the first ten and bring home some prize money. Augusta Gold (Danny) ideally wants softer ground but should handle this surface. The trip will bring her stamina into play and she could be each-way value at long odds. Brahma Bull (Brian Hayes) will appreciate this trip and ground but needs to step up considerably on recent performances.
BUMPER
Houlanbatordechais (Paul) goes for the Grade 2 Bumper over 2m 1f. He didn’t get a fair crack of the whip in the Cheltenham Bumper where he ran too free. Different tactics today could see him finish in the first three. Rath Gaul Boy (Patrick) won his bumper in good style at Leopardstown and should improve from that run. We’re very happy with him at home and expect him to run a big race here.April 17, 2022 at 09:39 #1594189July 8, 2022 at 17:44 #1606051Cork 8th July
Champagne Problem (Pat Taaffe) makes her hurdling debut in the 2m 1f maiden hurdle. She jumps well and will like this track. She won a bumper in Sligo and was then unplaced at Gowran. Hopefully, she will go well here.Memorable Daise (Sean O’Keeffe) runs in the 3 mile maiden hurdle. She was unplaced over 2m 4f at Wexford last time and would need to find considerable improvement to win here. What Path is third reserve and won’t run.
Whiskey Sour (Sean O’Keeffe) goes for the 2m 4f conditions hurdle. He will like the track and ground and the race conditions suit. He looks to hold a strong chance.
Unbridled Power (Jody Townend) makes his debut in the bumper over 2m 1f. He goes well at home and will like the ground. It’s a hot race but we are expecting him to be very competitive.
Killbeggan
We run two in the mares maiden hurdle over 2 miles. Walk On The Moone (Paul) will have learned a lot from her hurdling debut at Limerick and we are expecting her to get off the mark over hurdles today. Mary Meehan (Rachael Blackmore) has a small each-way chance.Rock Road (Paul) reverts to hurdles in the 3 mile handicap hurdle. He won a chase at Ballinrobe last time and has been in good form at home. We think he still has a nice mark over hurdles and he should go very close.
Captain Kangaroo (Paul) makes his chasing debut in the 3m 1f beginners chase. He will like this trip but things might happen too fast for him around this track.
We have three runners in the Midlands National Handicap Chase over 3m 1f. Agusta Gold (Paul) has been disappointing and needs to up her game if she is to figure here. Bacardys (Kieran Callaghan) is having his first run in a handicap chase but he has plenty of jumping experience. Recite A Prayer (Danny) won at Killarney last time and we are expecting another big run here.Spread Boss Ted (Patrick) goes for the bumper over 2m 3f. He ran well enough on his first run for us at Punchestown and with normal improvement could be hard to beat here.
August 19, 2022 at 09:17 #1611784Very kind of the trainer to put up his runners daily so I thought I’d bump this thread up again….
KILLARNEY 19th august.
Aghaboy (Sean O’Keeffe) has his first run for us in the 3YO maiden hurdle over 2 miles. He jumps fine and has plenty of racing experience on the flat. It’s a tough-looking race to start off in but hopefully he will acquit himself well.Purple Mountain (Sean O’Keeffe) is in the 2m 1f handicap hurdle. She is a course winner here and was third at the Galway festival last time. She had been off the track since November before the Galway run and we are expecting significant improvement here. We are hoping she will get back to winning ways today.
Dragan Rock (Jack Foley) goes for the 2m 6f novice hurdle. He won his maiden over a similar trip at Tramore and will like this ground. With his rider’s useful 3lb claim he should go well.
We have two in the beginners chase over 2m 7f. Captain Kangaroo (Brian Hayes) has been finding things tough lately and we will be pleased if he gets into the money today. Jon Snow (Sean O’Keeffe) was third on his chasing debut at Galway and that experience will stand to him here. He will appreciate this longer trip and the likely slower pace will also suit. We are expecting him to go very close.
Gelee Blanche (Jack Foley) runs in the 2m 7f handicap chase. She has been off the track since winning at Downpatrick last October and has a lot of weight here. She will go on the ground and hopefully she will run well.
We run two in the 2m 1f handicap chase. Robinnia (Sean O’Keeffe) was unplaced at Galway and needs to improve to figure here. We think she has every chance of doing so and she could get seriously involved today. Dads Lad (Brian Hayes) surprised us when winning a flat maiden at Galway. He goes on the ground and has a nice mark. He has an each-way chance.
Polo Lounge (Patrick) goes for the bumper over 2m 1f. He disappointed us when fourth at Tramore last time but he will be much more suited by this flat track. He has a good chance provided the rain stays away.
Killbeggan 19th August
Quel Reve (Danny) makes her hurdling debut in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. She won her bumper at Tramore in impressive style and we are very hopeful that she can make the most of this opportunity and get off the mark over hurdles. She jumps well and will go on the ground.Champagne Problem (Pat Taaffe) goes for the 2m 3f novice hurdle. She was very impressive when winning over 2 miles at Cork and we don’t think this longer trip will be any harm. She will handle the ground and gets a stone from her rivals when Pat’s claim is taken into account. A reproduction of the Cork run might be good enough here.
Valley Breeze (Danny) runs in the 3m 1f maiden hurdle. He was unplaced behind Champ Kiely at Galway but the form of that race is working out well. The ground will be okay for him and he has a chance over this longer trip.
September 21, 2022 at 09:20 #1615297Listowel.
No Risk No Fun (Paul) makes his hurdling debut in the 2 mile maiden hurdle. He jumps well at home and if he can transfer his bumper form to hurdles he should go very close.

Williespeak ” I’ve scared off the model kingdom and short go. We should win this well”Uncle Phil (Paul) goes for the 2 mile novice hurdle. He won his maiden at Killarney last month and he will come on for that experience. It’s a hot race but he will be suited by the ground and must have a big chance.
We have two runners and two reserves in the Kerry National Handicap Chase over 3 miles. El Barra (Paul) ran a great race in the Galway Plate and will be better suited by this flat track. He will like the ground and we are expecting him to go close. Recite A Prayer (Danny) has a nice weight but needs to improve to get into the shake-up. Rock Road is first reserve and if he gets in we would expect him to be involved at the business end.

” Recite a prayer has a featherweight and we think this one can bring home the bacon”

All The Others (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper over 2m 4f. He is fit and well and will love this ground. He will be suited by the trip and we are hopeful of a big run.

“I’ve told Paul time and again if he’d only let me put a claimer on board these bumper horses, we’d have half a stone in hand on top of the half a stone we’ve already got in hand on the field. But will he listen?”December 7, 2022 at 23:16 #1626193https://wpmullins.com/race-previews/
Clonmel 8th December
Sir Argus (Patrick) makes his hurdling debut in the QR maiden hurdle over 2m 3f. He jumps well and will love this trip and ground. However, he has to carry a winner’s penalty here for his bumper win and that makes things more difficult. Hopefully he will run well.
Henn See (Paul) goes over fences in the 2 mile beginners chase. He hasn’t run since winning a maiden hurdle at Limerick last Christmas but he is in great form at home. His schooling has been very good and he will handle the ground. We are expecting him to be seriously involved here.
January 14, 2023 at 08:24 #1630876Willie makes no mention ( as yet) of his runner at Warwick this afternoon.
MR INCREDIBLEIt has been over a month but here is Willie’s assessment of his runners. You have to take some of what says tongue in cheek. And you have to figure in all the other runners in the race.
But other elements are often very useful.Blood Destiny (Paul) goes for the 4yo conditions hurdle over 2 miles. He won a maiden hurdle easily on his first run for us at Cork last month. The second went on to win next time so the form looks solid. We think he has improved nicely and we’re confident of another big run here.
We have two runners in the Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase over 2m 1f. Fan De Blues (Daryl Jacob) jumped terrible when eight over this course and distance last time. He jumped well for Daryl when they won at Ballinrobe last August and if Daryl can get the same tune out of him today they won’t be far away. Mt Leinster (Paul) stayed on well for third in the same race as Fan De Blues over today’s course and distance last month. He likes this track and if he can handle the testing ground he shouldn’t be far away again.
Flame Bearer (Paul) runs in the 2m 1f beginners chase. He was a little disappointing when third over 2m 4f at Naas last time. We are fitting a first-time tongue tie over this shorter trip and hopefully he will belatedly get his season off to a good start.
Westport Cove (Patrick) makes his debut in the bumper. He is a lovely Muhtathir gelding whose owner Cathal Hughes is from Westport. He has been doing things right at home over Christmas and the New Year and we are hoping he will have the measure of these rivals.
January 30, 2023 at 08:33 #1632947February 8, 2023 at 10:35 #1634526Bialystok and Spanish Harlem looks interesting here.
While an eye out is needed in the new approach to riding arrangements in the bumper.February 22, 2023 at 22:09 #1636612Sam, what do you think of Instit tomorrow? I’ve backed her to reverse the form with TMSG- jockey comments after her win last time attributed her relaxing and jumping better to earplugs, and she’s got a hood on tomorrow. I like her springy, athletic jump and the fact that mistakes don’t faze her too much and she’s “thinking forward” even when she clobbers a fence. She ought to bounce off the better ground too.
February 23, 2023 at 08:01 #1636638I had a look at this one earlier.
It a conundrum and would be great if anyone has time to paste Willie’s comments about that race on here.
Anyone can add the link each day if they like.
Will be in touch about this race later greenasgrass.February 23, 2023 at 08:43 #1636644They both have room for improvement today and at the weights have a significant advantage over the field.
Willie Mullins does not have a good record in this race. Has won it only once since 2015.
De Bromheads record is even worse, although the two trainers were second and third here last year to Gavin Cromwell’s runner.
Darren’s hope and Motown Maggie demand closer scrutiny along with Bride’s Hill from Gavin Cromwell.
With the festival around the corner both trainers will have an eye elsewhere as was emphasised with Brandy Love yesterday getting a run into him.
So for now I’ve got an open mind on this contest, given the yards average records.February 23, 2023 at 13:53 #1636662At the prices rather than the weights a chance is taken that
Motown Maggie
Win
And
Darren’s hope
Win
Can turn over the lightly weighted favourites
Both 33/1February 23, 2023 at 14:02 #1636663Didn’t see that one coming 🙃
February 23, 2023 at 14:07 #1636664Similar result then to last year with the places reversed for second and third.
Cheltenham factor there and my pound on the two outsiders went west.February 23, 2023 at 14:10 #1636667You made a good point about previous renewals, it’s something I often forget to check so will try to get back in the habit- thanks
May 15, 2023 at 10:15 #1647910Killarney Meeting
Pure Notions (Paul) has her first run over hurdles in the mares’ maiden hurdle over 2m 6f. She schools well and her breeding suggests that she needs a trip like this. She should give a good account.
Absurde (Paul) is having his first run for us in the 2m 4f novice hurdle. He is a good jumper who had some very smart form on the flat in France. His lack of experience over hurdles might count against him but he has a good chance if he doesn’t run too keenly.
Saint Sam (Paul) goes for the 2m 4f chase. The race conditions are in his favour and we have been happy with him at home. This trip will be fine for him and we’re expecting a big run.
Annamix (Patrick) is in the hunter chase over 2m 7f. He was running well when he was interfered with and subsequently pulled up at Punchestown last time. This ground gives him every chance today.
Naruto (Jody) runs in the Ladies Bumper over 2m 1f. He was third at Thurles on his debut and we think he will improve on that run here. If he does, he has every chance of getting off the mark.
