Been having a good look at this and if Hardy Eustace performs as he should, he wins.
I can’t make a good enough case for any of the rest.
It’s the logical bet, right?

No
November 28, 2008 at 22:23 #192936Just out of sentimentality it’s going to have to be Brave Inca, one of my favourite horses. Perhaps he can do a Well Chief-esque comeback of 2 years ago…
November 29, 2008 at 02:19 #192989Hardy Eustace for me. Won’t mind however soft the ground is and stays the trip well. Probably still has better form than any of these.
Catch Me was impressive last time but is short enough in price at this level against such a tough old horse.

For me, the horse has the best chance of victory. I feel the rest will have to run beyond what they’ve achieved already to beat an early season and on song Hardy Eustace. He only has to run his race imo.
I too would love to see him win, infact, I’d now probably sacrifice a toe in order to see it.

What a gambler!

Some people can’t help but put their foot in it at least he’s cautious

Catch Me has dispointed before so you never know..would be great for his die hard fans to see…….nothing worse than watching an old favourite being thrashed and nothing better than watching them bounce back……….I just can’t see it personally.
November 30, 2008 at 02:47 #193269Catch Me is actually highly consistent under his favoured conditions- I used to think 2 miles but after the last day 2 1/2 is just as suitable. At 2- 2 1/2 miles on soft or heavy ground he’s 112U111.
I reckon Kazal needs 3 miles nowadays and even though he’ll be fitter, he’ll surely struggle to turn around form with Catch Me. Hardy is the danger but I reckon Catch Me will have too much toe for the 11 yo.November 30, 2008 at 02:49 #193270Ground should be perfect for Catch Me tomorrow but at the prices I’ll be giving this one a miss. A clear round should suffice for Catch Me on this ground.
I would love to see Brave Inca win this one though..
November 30, 2008 at 07:48 #193312I’m not sure what to make of Whatuthinks run behind Duc De Regniere with regards to Catch Me’s chances.
Conceding 8 pounds, beaten 13 lengths and could have been alot more.
My feeling is that DDR could prove to be either a monster, a machine or a tool of raging monster-machine like proportions

Was it a boost to the form??????
November 30, 2008 at 16:32 #193342Can’t really put too much empahasis on that "O" two races not reaaly the same. I think Imp C has pointed out the obvious that Muirhead could easily win this. The truth is we have no idea how good he really is. Very disaapointing at Cheltenham for sure but that means about ziltch as many young horses run badly there and go on to great things when more maturel
I’m sticking to Catch Me as everything is in his favour, everything that is except for the above.

probably so,but to me,this race looks a good bit stronger than his last race.but i will support him,of course!!

November 30, 2008 at 18:59 #193354I would have Hardy as favourite for this myself and have backed accordingly.
November 30, 2008 at 19:24 #193356What a superb comeback for Brave Inca to finish 2nd! This horse will be back at its very best this season
C’mon the Inca

He ran really well considering the long lay off, delighted for him.

Just had to pull your chain a bit Andy….you think Catch Me is in the same class as Sizing Europe or even Jered? Had SE not ran out of gas due to needing the race, he wold have beat Hardy Eustace by a hurdle?
I like Catch Me because everytime I have backed him he has one but a Cheltenham horse? I think not.
Brave Inca ran well and hopefully he stays sound and goes on to better things but what their actual plan is, if they have one, I have no idea.
Hardy being Hardy does what he does best stays on at the one pace but the pace ain’t what it used to be………..wish for the sake of his fans they would retire him
