I don’t get too carried away about this race since the course became much easier and previous patterns went out the window. However, I am distinctly interested in Grangeclare West 9/1 who has had a relatively easy season until a nice win last time up. Would probably have won last year but for belting the last and has a lot going for him.

Second choice is Haiti Couleurs 20/1 who hasn’t been able to make a mark at Grade 1 level but this contest in right up his street.

I’m happy with my 50-1 ap bets on Favori De Champdou + Lecky Watson, but is The Grand National, so I’ve added Gerri Colombe at 33-1

Pied Piper doesn’t go, so Imperial Saint is in. I might have a small go each way if 6 places are offered on the day.

I’ve backed him throughout the season (except at Haydock of course) and he has a real affinity for the Mildmay course. Everything went wrong last time, so you can put a line through that. Worth a small go.

    My current lineup is…

    Panic Attack
    The Real Whacker
    Haiti Couleurs

I’ll wait until the morning to see if Imperial Saint and Twig get a little each way interest.

I’d love to see the rejuvenated Hobbs stable win the National, even though it was never a race in the past that they really targeted.

The O Neil’ horses in good heart it would seem which bodes well for us Johnnywho fans.

I’m already on Grangeclare West from January, but it’s on another thread, not this one.

I’ve added two today with Lecky Watson 33-1, and Banbridge at 50-1

I think it’s a disgrace Hayes has been Jocked off for Patrick. He’s ridden Grangeclare West in 7 of his previous 8 runs. He’s a far better jockey than Willie’s son also who looks like an absolute fool on these quality horses. Yes, he wins the odd race as he’s always on quality but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s an average amateur at best.

Doesn’t say much for the owners either who’ve let this happen.

I certainly won’t be backing the horse now.

Seems to me that, in recent years the race has been won by the trainer in form. So maybe it will be Skeltons year?

I remember watching this last year without a bet, but no danger of that this year, and what a line up

My biggest fancy is Final Orders at 25-1, and he’s just to win, with Perceval Legallois second choice at 33-1

My outsider at 100-1 ew is Beauport

I didn’t have a bet on Mouse Morris’s 100/1 horse that was placed over the National fences today and I always back Mouses runners. Serves me right for being disloyal. So I think I’m going to back all the horses I ‘want’ to win given that I haven’t really studied the race this year.

Like to have four in this, and with Pied Piper missing, I’ve decided to add Imperial Saint. He was a target horse for me at start of season, and I think he can go well here.

    Champ Kiely 80’s EW 5Pls
    Johnnywho 50’s
    Imperial Saint 40’s
    Quai De Bourbon 66’s

You can make a casse for almost every one. Incredible difficult this year. In the end I’ve gone for the following five:

    Panic Attack 17/2
    Johnnywho 10/1
    Perceval Legallois 22/1
    Spanish Harlem 40/1 EW
    Beauport 100/1 EW

    Good luck all!

A tricky one but I’ve gone for five

    Johnnywho
    Oscar’s Brother
    Twig
    Three Card Brag
    Imperial Saint

    BlueSky @pghenn.bsky.social

So don't run, just like the others always do

    Twig
    Banbridge
    Marble sands
    I am maximus
    Haiti Coloeurs

I am maximus to win the rest each way.
