I’m at a loss on what to pick. This has to be one of the strongest GN line-ups I’ve seen. Backing too many horses in it has been my undoing in recent years. On the flip side, the temptation to back a few horses is like trying to defy gravity. Think I might grab a 6 inch nail, spin round like Robin Cousins, stab it in the line up and see what pops up…

His last run takes a bit of forgiving but I’ll chance Spanish Harlem as I like most of his season to date, and the jockey booking. I thought he looked well on the opening show this morning. So did Gerri Colombe who looked happy and caught my eye trotting out after exercise, don’t know what he’ll make of the big field and if body and soul are still fit for this sort of thing, but he has nice recent form.

    Champ Kiely 80s ew
    Spanish Harlem 50sew
    Gerri Colombe 33s ew

And a pound position payout on Gorgeous Tom, in case he wins and my in laws and everyone in work assumes I backed him cos I’m married to one. Actually I’ve had an eye on him since the Drinmore, not the worst bet.

Plenty of carnage in that not sure I’ve seen so many lose horses in with the pace one nearly carried out Johnnywho my selection, I was robbed. Didn’t look great for Mr Vango.

The more I know the less I understand.
