The Ante-Post King.

I really cannot work out what Mr Bolger is planning with Glor Na Mara. He is 31st in the weights for the Lincoln so he needs to win to guarantee his place. Whether the drop back in trip will suit or if the Lincoln is on the agenda I wonder. Anyway the 7/1 BOG with several firms looks tempting as he has sidestepped the more competitive Irish Lincolnshire later on the card.
March 25, 2012 at 20:56 #398401Surprise surprise, the Ante-Post fav for the 2000gns is just a ‘possible’ for the first classic of the year. The RP website wins the ‘lets over dramatise’ Aidans quotes after
Camelot
worked after racing at the Curragh today. The Sporting Lifes version of events would appear to me anyway, more believable.Aidan is notorious for underplaying any of his horses chances/targets so it would be a typical reaction from the man to play down ‘Camelots’.I’m certainly not panickin!
Yet!March 26, 2012 at 13:30 #398457Who wants to be ‘The Ante-Post King’? I notice more and more often Trainers ‘opening up’ with masses of negativeity after the monies down about their horses targets/chances in a race.Cheltenham was a farce, too many to even mention had their horses double engaged and now that both
Fury
and
Eton Forever
have been well backed all week, both their trainers come out with less than re-assuring comments,”Fury’ really needs rain’,No chance of that! and ‘Eton’ will struggle off a mark of 103……er No he wont,he will love fast ground and having run away with the ‘Spring Mile’ off 92 he then returned to Donny and carried 9-10 in a sub 1m 40sec time, thats No mean feat,he’s a player alright off exactly the same mark of 103. Trainers, I never listen to a word they say!
March 26, 2012 at 17:13 #398484Well people are still backing them, EF now as low as 5/1 which is very short, glad I got on at 9s! I’ve learnt to take trainer’s comments with apinch of salt, both will run very well IMO. Fury has won on fast ground so seems quite versatile to me and it’s obvious EF can be much better than his current Mark.
March 26, 2012 at 17:57 #398487Gord any thoughts on the spring mile i think this ROBEMAKER will be backed into 3/1 fav on the day trainer does well with a horse in a big handicap
EDINBURGH KNIGHT my tip in the lincoln am on at 16s
And any thoughts on racing at Meydan at weekend some big name horses racing there at weekend.

darren,I have to agree with your opinion of
Robemaker
,Old Johnny be good Gosden will be dissapointed he wont make the cut for the Lincoln! I’m convinced the race is a 2 horse affair between the 2 heavily backed favs but if pushed would suggest
Man of Action
as an e/w player at 14/1.
Inxile
has to overcome a horrible draw,if he does he’s a player,Trotters going to let him go on the ‘B’ of Bang!
I cant splitProhibit
and
Margot did
in the 5f race but Hayley will spend the week in Selfridges if she does the business, exciting times mate!
March 27, 2012 at 13:41 #398541I would defineately suggest holding fire on any future wagers on
Burton Port
for this years Grand National,he’s currently a well fancied 12/1 on the High St but when Betfair go 65’s you know Nicky Henderson has other ideas.Of course Nicky hates us to think ‘The Machine’ knows before he does that ‘Burton’ wont be going to Aintree, his silence speaks volumes!
March 27, 2012 at 19:07 #398564With Murtagh riding Beaten Up in Dubai Adam Beschizza has been given the Fury ride- has tasted big race success with Green Destiny and in my view is a good up and coming jockey.
It could be a very good weekend for Haggas!
March 27, 2012 at 19:51 #398567I certainly dont have a problem with the Jockey booking rich! Does the lad still have an allowance,if so a couple more pounds off can do nothing but help! The course was watered yesterday and will be again before the meeting starts.Good ground will be fine,Please No firm as that will give
Eton Forever
an even better chance!
March 27, 2012 at 20:31 #398572Still has a 3lb claim….he was dumped by his horse when in the lead yesterday at Lingfeld, not a good preparation for Saturday!
March 27, 2012 at 21:11 #398575Well I’ve gone through the race umpteen times now and I wouldn’t swap
Fury
for anything, yeh Money talks and I genuinely believe that
Eton Forever
is the main danger, the faster the ground the better,
Man of Action
also ticks the right boxes and is certainly an e/w price. The ‘dark’ horse of the race however is
Rakaan
,wherever ‘Start Right’ finishes this fellow is 3 lengths ahead of him,he is a serious handicapper on his day and if Jamie has him right he’ll run a place at least,25/1 is too big! My assessment of this Heritage Handicap is quite simple though and its all about ‘IF’!! Because ‘if’
Fury
is back to his 2yo best when he won the Tattersalls Million and I’m gambling on the fact the Gelding of him will encourage just that then he wins comfortably! ‘If’ the ‘Fury’ who finished stone cold last on his last 3 outings last year turns up it will be me in a ‘Fury’.Confidence is King Ginge!
March 27, 2012 at 21:22 #398576Just spoke to Corals and they tell me if you back
Burton Port
with them for the Grand National you will get 12/1. When Nicky henderson finally decides to inform us punters that the horse is a Non Runner then nobody else need waste their money as Ante-Post rules apply still! Poor show!
March 28, 2012 at 08:05 #398598KF: I have only backed Eton Forever ante post BUT my outsider for the race is Brae Hill. Richard Fahey is excellent at getting them ready FTO and this one does well at Donny too!
Waiting for confirmation that he runs and also jockey bookings. Nice EW price though
March 28, 2012 at 09:20 #398603GDC,those of us who were at last years Lincoln came away with the fact that had
Eton Forever
ran in the race,he’d have hosed in so I’m under no illusion he is a worthy fav for this year.
Brae Hill
is a totally exposed handicapper who sits around the 95 mark all year,Bunbury Cup winners are sharp,if the Lincoln was over 7f he’d be a major player,it would be no surprise to see him placed again though.I cant see him troubling your other horse mind! It just shows you how confident I am about
Fury
when I keep bulling up the chances of
Eton Forever
,you never know I might have done a ‘Ginge’ (thats my new saying for backing more than half the field in a race) and had a double on ‘something’ in the National.I do love attempting the ‘Spring double’!
March 28, 2012 at 09:37 #398604Agreed about Brae Hill, hoping that he puts one of his ‘decent’ apprentices up

Good luck with the double, going to be hard enough winning the Lincoln let alone cheering home Sunnyhillboy after

Well done!
Its a 220/1 double GDC,Eton Forever
12/1 Lincoln
Sunnyhill boy
16/1 Grand National!
March 28, 2012 at 17:45 #398641Gord i saw something from you that you think CAMELOT may go to the Eclipse if you are right.Who be the horse to win irish derby it come from ballydoyle. And i think my darkhorse could be just as good as any 3yo colt at middle distances that horse is
IMPERIAL MONARCH and the maiden he won so well has chucked out 3 winners this year. at 2 irish cards with the Bolger horse beating Furners Green. And good luck with your lincoln bets too.
