Darren I have been reading your work for over 21/2 years now and have been a fan of yours since then! Why? Because you have fantastic Foresight, not only are you a good judge of a horse you are an excellent judge of a target and this
Imperial Monarch
does have Irish Derby written all over him, more so than
Camelot
who imo is blessed with more speed than stamina,he wont be contesting the ‘Derrinstown’ for sure!
March 29, 2012 at 16:18 #398715So apparently it was a "twisted testicle" that caused Fury’s form to bottom last year and they only discovered it when they were gelding him.
I take my betting very seriously so decided to see if that ailment would affect running style. So I twisted my left testicle and then attempted to run the length of my garden. I can tell you it was quite painful and I was definitely slower than usual.
I can therefore tell you as I type from my ice bath that twisted testicles are an impediment to running fast.As such I may now be tempted to back the horse that cost me my balls last year.

March 29, 2012 at 17:31 #398721Gord i have no problem if CAMELOT goes for eclipse just as long he takes derby at Epsom in.And if he did win 2000 guineas i think trainer will want him at Epsom.Though good luck to you if he runs in 2000 but i rather see my CAMELOT in a derby trail instead then off to Epsom.
But i think IMPERIAL MONARCH will be a improving colt in 2012 darkhorse in the yard.
March 29, 2012 at 17:33 #398722Forget to ask you any thoughts on the dubai world cup race and the for me the best race on the card the Sheema classic.2 group one horses in SNA and Cirrus Des Aigles and a improving horse in BEATEN UP i can’t split the 3 myself
March 29, 2012 at 20:50 #398742The Sheemas a 2 horse race in my book darren the exposed and enigmatic
St Nicholas abbey
over a 11/2m should get the race run to suit and he can quicken! The dark horse is
Beaten up
,its not very often I cant get a handle on one but this fellow really could be anything,he looks like a class horse and moves like one,the clock tells you he is a bit special but its a massive step up from Doncaster handicaps to Dubai Group 1’s worth 2 million!
March 30, 2012 at 02:58 #398759Allo, King! Yes, yes… i did follow you off a cliff – banged my head off a few rocks when i got to the bottom for a few days. Good memory you have there, hoped that little palaver had been forgotten.
Can’t say i’m anywhere near as naive or careless now i’ve seen how sour things can go.But hey, swings and roundabouts – it was a right of passage, and i’ve been sailing along since i fired up again at the start of the year. If i wasn’t betting tuppence i’d be even happier, but tuppence it shall remain for now. I’m playing the long game after all!
I have a laugh at Seagull’s tips every few days – guy’s practically as bad as i was last year! I guess he was better ‘back in the day’ or something…

‘The Seagull’ has to put them up virtually daily Wildman,I couldn’t do that,i’ll go a week without a bet at times easily.Toms Saturday record always seems to read well,he’s pretty consistent at something we all aspire to being so I take my hat off to him.All this ‘Worlds greatest tipster’ rubbish from his Clique makes me laugh,I know half a dozen on here who could beat him over a year! I wont mention his Ante-Post record as very few bother with betting weeks/months in advance but I know someones who’s in a different league!
March 30, 2012 at 18:47 #398820Gord i just updated my tips thread at Donny,Meydan and Kempton so i hope you let me know what you think
And watch out in the maiden at Doncaster tomorrow because i think this FALKLAND is a smart horse. would not shock me if he wins tomorrow i expect a decent run from him.
March 31, 2012 at 14:24 #398889KF: I have only backed Eton Forever ante post BUT my outsider for the race is Brae Hill. Richard Fahey is excellent at getting them ready FTO and this one does well at Donny too!
Waiting for confirmation that he runs and also jockey bookings. Nice EW price though

Great call GDC. Hope you got on!

March 31, 2012 at 14:36 #398891Joni: Certainly did, the horse looked on a very good mark and has proved he loves the course, hopefully Tony Hamilton will have a great season after all his troubles

Get in BRAE HILL you lil beauty

Here here Joni,Excellent stuff GDC! I cant believe he went off 25/1,runner up last year and that, incredible!
March 31, 2012 at 19:28 #398925Normally i would spend a good couple of days studying The Lincoln Handicap, today i scrolled down the initial 97 entries and guess what the winner jumped off the page!
I said to myself this fellow will be quoted in single figures he ticks every box and just to confirm the regard i hold in him he’s trained and owned by previous winners of the race William Haggas and Chevely Park stud.Incidentally Ladbrokes offered me 8/1 so i took the 14/1 with William Hills, the horse isFury
Get On!
Fury
£150 e/w 14/1 William Hills The Lincoln.Doncaster.
Happy with that run, defineately never let himself down on the ground!£75
March 31, 2012 at 19:35 #398930I know Toms not been tipping this fellow up….Yet!
but having just got off the phone from Billys,it would appear that there has been considerable interest in the chances ofFury
for this years Lincoln,so much so i felt the need to go in again, unfortunately the 14/1 went very quickly!
Somebodys let the cat out the bag and 11/1 is their best price now! ThankfullyBet365 are still going 12/1
,here we go again!
Fury
£100 e/w 12/1 Bet365 The Lincoln, Doncaster
Surprise, surprise Tom the Seagull pinched the crumbs off my Ante-Post table……..Again!£475
March 31, 2012 at 19:44 #398931Just taken the last of the 10/1 with Paddy Power today on my very strong ‘Lincoln’ fancy
Fury
,I’m struggling to find a danger incredibly as if this horse has benefitted from being Gelded then a return to the form that saw him win the Tattersals Million will see him win this, besides he’s a damn sight better 98 rated 4yo than his old stablemate ‘Penitent’ was when he won a couple of years ago! The Godolphin pair ‘Man of Action’ C/D winner and ‘Start Right’ could be players!
Fury
£150 e/w 10/1 Paddy Power Lincoln.
Who goes for a touch in a 22 runner Cavalry charge? er…TAPKMarch 31, 2012 at 20:06 #398938There are times when you have to come out fighting! My Lincoln horse
Fury
has just been headed in the betting by one of his biggest dangers,
Eton Forever
,money talks and obviously punters are going with the horse with excellent course and distance form,a reasonable weight and a shrewd trainer,I can see their logic………So why am I going for a horse who never beat a single horse home in his last 3 outings, stone cold last all 3 times!
Several reasons,His Trainer, his owners, his handicap mark, his 2yo form,he’s lightly raced and the fact that he’s been gelded.Kieran or Johnny riding would be ideal and a high draw will see him come down the stands rail, simple as that!
Fury
£100 e/w 9/1 Bet365 Lincoln.
£1325April 1, 2012 at 09:48 #399000Not a lover of the flat this early but do like to follow certain horses and trainers.
Richard Fahey is an early season trainer to follow and has done me proud with 2 yesterday. I also like Andrew Balding at certain courses and especially maidens.
On the back of yesterdays wins I have backed DESERT LAW at 6s to win the 320 Donny. Horse goes very well fresh and has course form and looks to be on a very decent mark FTO.
A horse I will be following this season in the big sprints is CONFESSIONAL who opposes Desert Law today. He is made for 5 1/2 fufrlongs so really needs a stiff 5f. The race I hope he is being lined up for is the Epsom Dash on Derby Day, backed him last year EW and he was soooooo unlucky in running, had the winner Captain Dunne marked out for the race the year before so hopefully i’ll be spot on again
April 1, 2012 at 09:59 #399004KF you made a little error in your totting up as you had -£75 + £400 equalling £475. Whatever way its only £150 and you are back in the black. About time too!
Not sure about Fury, yes he didn’t like the ground but will probably go up a few pounds for that run so is by no means certain to land a handicap in the near future. The Newbury Spring Cup would usually be a target but I doubt his trainer will try him too hard again until the ground comes in his favour.
