Agree ERL but unfortunately it is a consequence of the four day festival. Previously there would have been certainty but then a Grade One 2m 4f chase came along.
Now we have a ridiculous and highly unsatisfactory situation where we still do not know if the horse that won the key Gold Cup trial is actually going to run in the race or not.

Yes, it’s a shame. But, somehow it isn’t that much of a surprise. He has become a bit fragile over the past year or so. A delayed comeback and well beaten at his fav track in his fav race.

Btw, I don’t see Gaelic Warrior having a problem staying the trip, there is a rail on the inside, Townend can just ‘scrape the paint’ as it were and put him to sleep there, same as he did at Kempton. It’s different at Leopardstown, they race wide.
