I reckon it’d take a blind man Nath Can’t see Al Boum Photo getting beat here.
December 12, 2020 at 13:39 #1513973Al Boum Photo is the right favourite but can he really win 3 in a row? Is he another Arkle or a Best Mate?
December 12, 2020 at 13:43 #1513977Absolutely. I’m in agreement with HDLG. Sounds a bizarre thing to say about a duel Gold Cup winner but I reckon he’s one of the most underrated horses in training. One of the more underrated Gold Cup winners in recent years as well.
At his age and the way he’s campaigned as well, I think it’d take him to have a setback for something to beat him.
December 12, 2020 at 14:11 #1513990I’d be amazed if he didn’t go off favourite , would take a serious showing from something else ….poss cyraname if he won the KG ….by the way I don’t buy into him being 3 mile horse off 1 slowly run race
December 27, 2020 at 14:12 #1515419Hopefully we will see Al Boum at Tramore this week. He still looks the right favourite here.
I’ve decided to add another outsider though, having already bet Allaho. I’ve went with the other Cheveley horse, A Plus Tard. The bet might look silly this time tomorrow, but I really do think that 66/1 is a huge price for him.
December 28, 2020 at 01:10 #1515577Decided to take the 33’s on Delta Work. Hopefully see a big run today, but regardless of that, I do realise he’s got work to do back at Cheltenham in March.
The other I’ve added is Melon. Seems strange choice, as not particularly keen on him for The Savills, but as it’s with Sportsbook, I should at least have a fighting chance of cashing out, should it not go to plan.
Delta Work 33’s
Melon 66’sDecember 28, 2020 at 10:45 #1515595I’ve added Al Boum Photo 5-1 ew for now prior to the Savills.
December 28, 2020 at 14:44 #1515645With the King George and the Savills out the way I can’t imagine Al Boum Photo will be losing any sleep.
December 28, 2020 at 15:50 #1515664Well done VTC, I have also added Melon before todays race at 66\1
I thought he was cantering in the Savills today and Patrick made the mistake of sauntering 3 clear, lonely or didn’t stay?
Whatever, he still beat a lot of Gold Cup types today for a non-stayer? Liked the winners attitude too….
December 28, 2020 at 17:47 #1515680Backed Melon in running today when he was 7/1 and three lengths clear. Disappointed he did not win from the position he was in. Maybe it is my burnt fingers doing the talking but to my mind he is a bridle horse and does not find a lot. I cannot see him out battling anything up the Cheltenham hill.
December 28, 2020 at 17:55 #1515681Is The Storyteller worth a look at 50/1? He’s clearly found some improvement and we’re not dealing with a vintage bunch here. I think he’s value from an each way standpoint.
December 28, 2020 at 19:01 #1515687Idk peter, i’d say ABP has earned his vintage status, id have liked minella indo to have stood up and lose just to confirm ABP as a certainty, but hes pretty close to one this far out for me, although, youll get that price on the day so not worth backing atm
December 30, 2020 at 07:08 #1515838I think ABP might lose to Monalee Friday giving 12 pounds. As long as Monalee runs to or close to his rating then ABP would have to run to 180 plus on seasonal debut.
December 30, 2020 at 07:33 #1515839Possibly mike but it wont make a difference in the long term anyway, he wont beat him at cheltenham
December 30, 2020 at 08:05 #1515840Monalee is off 11 12 and ABP 12st, so not much in the weights.
They were close together at Leop over a similar trip as novices. Would say ABP has improved since then, but some race hopefully in store!
Monalee will be 100% ready having been KG bound.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 30, 2020 at 08:41 #1515842According to SL website Monalee is 11 3 and ABP 11 12. So 9lb not 12 as i originally thought. So ABP would have to run to late 170s on seasonal debut to beat an ‘in form’ Monalee.
December 30, 2020 at 08:46 #1515843Mike, ignore me im reading Minella Indo ffs. Sorry!
I’d very much be thinking Monalee should put it up to ABP on New Year’s Day then.
