    Hi all,

Fully aware how going readings may differ between officials and courses throughout the UK.

Take today for instance, readings from Taunton are: Soft, Good to Soft in places (GoingStick: 4.9 on Thursday at 06:00). Looking at the averages though it would seem that it could be viewed as Heavy or at least borderline heavy. Without going to the track itself, would you rather err on the side of the officials or average readings?

Looking through averages then between 2008-2013

    OFFICIAL GOING DESCRIPTION GIVEN BY
    CLERK OF COURSE – JUMP
LOGGED MEAN // NUMBER OF REPORTS // GOINGSTICK READING
    HEAVY 666 5.2
    SOFT 1594 6.0
    GOOD TO SOFT 1998 6.8
    GOOD 3277 7.7
    GOOD TO FIRM 1370 8.7
    FIRM 40 10.0
    HARD 0 N/A

Apologies if this has been answered already, couldn’t locate it!

    Thanks

    Steve
