Thinking of you Ghost. Fingers crossed for that fourth horse!
May 14, 2026 at 16:32 #1766781Hills were offering 40/1 for Item to win today and in the Derby. Wish I’d taken them up on it.
May 14, 2026 at 16:38 #1766783Well done, Ghost.

The winner still looked green in front and will improve for the run; in a wide open year, he’s going to go to Epsom with as good a chance as any.

Well played.

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
May 14, 2026 at 17:52 #1766798Ghost; now I know this is aftertiming ( sorry) but, for some reason although I prefer NH racing I usually do better betting on the flat. I had several winners today including your first few. Nothing clever in that because I have lots of 3 pence ew bets, several in some races. But I then backed the last horse as thought that it would be bad luck if I didn’t. It usually works the other way in that I don’t want to curse people with my selections but I had to risk it this time. So chuffed for you!

Love it Ghost so pleased for you..

May 14, 2026 at 18:25 #1766810Cheers Nathan, Moehat, Triptych and worzelwaywardlad 😆
I’ve roughly worked it out to over £7,000 … not bad for a £15 bet

Moehat; so pleased that you picked the last horse. I felt quite confident that Arc Ole Ole would pop up.
It might sound a bit coincidental but my brother and myself was talking about our late, great Dad earlier today. One of the memories was when he had his welding business called ‘Arco’. My brother pointed to this horse in the last race and, while it had a great chance of winning, it felt the right and spiritual thing to do because it rang true with the horse’s name.I’m going to split the winnings with my great bro

May 14, 2026 at 19:24 #1766824Wow, what a day ghost
May 14, 2026 at 19:26 #1766825I think it’s lovely that the final bet was because of your dad. It’s not the sort of thing that non racing people would understand but it adds a little bit of magic to it. I once spoke to a stable lass who said she always thought her horses ( Madame Dubois) previous lad was looking down on her whenever she ran as she only ever won by a whisker.
May 14, 2026 at 22:51 #1766836Well done Ghost, one of those days you aren’t likely to forget in a hurry!
As far as the race is concerned I’m not convinced of the depth. Item looks a work in progress to me, very promising but a bit on the leg at the moment and I’m not sure he would be suited by the course at Epsom. Should strengthen up with time though and will be very interesting latter part of this year and at 4yo*.
*Cue wins the Derby and retires at 3!
May 15, 2026 at 16:06 #1766880Thank you robnorth

I actually picked up £6,517.05
This was because of Rule 4 in the 5:15 deducting 5p in the pound.Still a nice return. The only concern I had was when Item became a market mover and went from 12/1 into 11/2.
