Does seem more of a chance of Synchronised running in Ireland reading that IC, but can’t believe they’d be stupid enough to do it. May be it’s just my racing arrogance. Feel sure Jonjo, Berry and McManus will come around to my position when it matters.

and
again!

Imperial Call did try to put me in the right direction.
I was wrong and apologise to team McManus.
Must have been showing a lot more at home than he was last year to go for a 3 mile race on goodish ground.Ah well, can’t get them all right.
Would’ve been a certainty for the Welsh National.

I wouldn’t have a red face over that one mate. Sometimes they just pop out of nowhere and make everyone look like mugs. All too often we all think it’s a ‘two horse race’. How many time has that bit the punters ?

But no luck again. The slow pace not ideal for most of my bets. And then 64/1 shot Rigidity (a bet to win four figure profit) losing out by ½ a length. 1 lb out of the handicap costing him.I was bound to have a poor run some time.

Looks like Overturn has had enough for now, after four races in quick succession. Never jumping with his usual fluency. Binocular doesn’t seem capable of his Champion Hurdle winning form any more, just scraping home from Rock On Ruby. Latter a little unlucky after a slight mistake at the last.King George VI

Great to see the old boy win a fifth King George, and in such attacking style! Both winner and second putting up Timeform ratings of 180 or more. Long Run outpaced on the back straight and staying on late. Must be favourite to get his revenge on Kauto Star at Cheltenham over another 2½ furlongs, especially when the winner will be 12 years old come March. But whether it should be as much as betting indicates (3/1 and 7/1) is doubtful. We are lucky to have such great chasers. One sad note, Master Minded suffered what could be a career threatening injury. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Olofi yet to be asked for his all when falling 2 out. Seemed likely winner at the time. But if I had to lose it was good to see Celestial Halo win a good race.Days Stakes 283, Return 117.3,
Not that happy with Newbury Racecourse. Had most of my bets the night before after checking the weather forecast and official going. No rain forecast from that point to race time, so (I thought) it would either dry up or stay the same. Yet despite “no overnight rain” the going changed to SOFTER in the morning due to rain the AFTERNOON before. So when I was looking at the “official” going the night before, it was ALREADY out of date, ie WRONG.
Rey Nacarado would have been my main bet instead of the saver, Night Alliance did not have as good a chance on very soft ground. This Post Stakes 1129, Return 919.97,
