Value Is EverythingDecember 18, 2011 at 03:52 #383095I have come to view
the Razeen threat
first hand
value is everything
maybe at home
but not,
not in Rome !December 19, 2011 at 13:07 #383246Who is this Razeen?
Who’s never been seen.
I am not the real danger,
to this relative stranger.GT is the front runner,
who needs a rear gunner.
The man to fear is Billion,
with Hughes riding pillion.Fear I’ll be passed,
I’ve gone off too fast.

42 points @ 5/1 (VC) Master MindedSeems I was wrong about Kauto Star not making it to Kempton.
11 points @ 4/1 (B365) Kauto StarWish I hadn’t backed Master Minded, not that 5/1 isn’t value. It’s just with being second sting and Kauto the public horse, Long Run defending Champion with the best form… I can see the Master Minded drifting.

With the likelyhood of Kauto Star being well backed by the public; will back Kauto Star now and lay it off later.

Value Is EverythingDecember 19, 2011 at 20:16 #383300What price do you make Captain Chris Ginger?
He’s won three times around Kempton, which must be a positive. He seems likely to appreciate the step up in trip as looked like to win over 2m2f last time and was staying on very well when beaten by Medermit over 2m5f last season.

You are right THM, Captain Chris does have a good win record at Kempton. But a closer look reveals those were uncompetitive races, going off at long odds-on in two of them and 15/8, when a relative unknown and so much better than the rest. On the other hand, it is probable he’ll be suited going right handed (jumps that way) and young enough to improve considerably.
Two problems:
Although I believe Captain Chris is going to improve in to a top class chaser this season. Trouble is doing it in one go and to such a degree as to beat three already with form well above average for a King George winner… Realistically, he’ll be hoping all three rivals run below form.
The other problem is an interupted preparation. Isn’t yet the best of jumpers and unseated last time. It’s obvious he’s had injuries hence the absence since Exeter. Only in the last couple of days has Captain Chris come in for support, as (I believe) Hobbs has struggled to get him there. So even with the glowing reports from Richard Johnson, I’m sceptical.
Therefore, (although I am yet to finalise my 100% book) at this stage I’d want better than around 12/1 to back Captain Chris.
If I were betting against the top three THM, I’d be looking at Diamond Harry with Nick Williams in terrific form. Already run this term, which is a negative. Excptional record first time out, not second. Injured before the Charlie Hall where non-runner, travelled well for a long way in Betfair and might not have been fit enough on reappearance this time. Thing that puts me off is he can jump left. Wouldn’t back him ante-post / until final decs are known anyway, as he’s fragile.

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 23, 2011 at 15:49 #383842Ginger must have removed his blinkers
to write that but yes it’s gold cup
for gingers jumpers.
I made two forecasts and was right in
thinking Razeen would be fourth and
ahead of the headchopper, but wrong in thinking
total votes would be 82. I was also
wrong in thinking the voting ended midnight
tonight and I had a whole jamboree of pleas
and devilish schemes all wrapped up and waiting
next to my elephant gun.
Had it continued today the boisterous friday night
crowd would have upped the vote
to exactly my forecast. One does wonder when Ginger is going to
stop meddling with the final result

Like someone else I could mention,
with your false indignation.
Who’s sole intention,
to bring whole competition,
to its full demolition.
By vote and nomination,
of NON-member of 2011.
May I remind you Gamble, this competition was for Poster of 2011, not for yester-year.
