I have to think that Motivator is at the last chance saloon, 1 group winner thus far is hardly going to keep him in this country. Sir Percy has made a more promising start than Authorized but as the former was the most precocious Derby winner this century it is hardly surprising.
I am also looking forward to the progeny of New Approach next season and Sea the Stars will be equally interesting.
I have reservations about Workforce as a son of King’s Best. His apparent lack of enthusiasm after the Eclipse is the most recent memory of his exploits, he should have been dispatched to stud after winning the Arc. A completely irrational dislike of his name doesn’t aid my objectivity.
It will be interesting to see where Pour Moi stands as I’m sure he would get more support in France than elsewhere.

I can see Motivator going to Japan.

I wouldn’t be so quick to write off Workforce. Although I don’t like his name either,King’s Best comes from the best family in racing. He could be the next Galileo for all we know.

Pour Moi will be standing in Ireland for Coolmore,I’m sure he’ll be plenty popular here too after his memorable win in the Derby

If Derby winners don’t provide the competition where will it come from? Godolfin need to step up to the plate. Is it Galileo versus his sons? Pretty soon he will be unavailable to the less than multi- million breeder if he is not so already.

That doesn’t bother Ballydoyle,it’ no more than Danehill, breeders are still using his services.
They have a lot to thank Jim Bolger for his success, too, seeing as he used him so much because he couldn’t afford the more expensive stallions at the time.

Godolphin need to start using Coolmore stallions again if they are to start producing some competition for Juddmonte and Coolmore. The two have the mutual respect and understanding that utilising each other’s stallions are for their mutual benefit. Look at the amount of Dansili 2 year olds that Coolmore had this year. The sooner Godolphin use this approach the better it’ll be for them, both in terms of runners and stallion prospects.

I’m pretty Shaw that’s why they brought

    New Approach – Authorized

for the bloodline. Even tho Sheikh Mohammed did it through his wife lol

they have brought a lot of

    Teofilo

    as-well

I meant in terms of sending mares to them rather than buying proven progeny of them.

I’m unsure about Authorized,he doesn’t have a particularly great family on his dam’s side.Only time will tell

They are coming in the back door so to speak by acknowledging that they need Galileo blood.I like to use such people to justify my own childish behaviour which however does not cost me so much money.Business should be kept apart from mood swings .

tbh never pay that much attention to breeding or I’d never had back Hurricane Fly for the CH as Montjeu’s don’t win it  .

Must say though from the outside looking in as it were all I seem to hear about is Galileo.

Come as no surprise he is a leader in his field

I must admit montjeus stock tend to be great athletes with little quirks and gallileos more robust and consistent.I love watching the likes of sna as they are such graceful movers. How sea the stars gets on at stud is anybodies guess but sometimes is not always the best of a generations who succeed at stud.Sadlers wells wasnt the top in his year but boy he was when it came to stud.As for godolphin i think their record in recent times is shocking with the money they have spent.Still breeding can be about chance so lets not be so critical but at the momemt ballydoyle is king and with more and more success for montjeu and galileos progeny it wont change anytime soon.

Mickey I wouldn’t say it’s too much of guesswork.
Yes there are doubts about horses going to stud but not total luck.
Sea the Stars comes from a proven family of stallions. His dam has two sons before him standing at stud, with one being a dual champion sire. The only question regarding his ability will be from Cape Cross. It’s difficult to say how he’ll influence it.

Henry says that Frankel is the best horse he has ever trained and Andre says that Golden Lilac is the best filly he has ever trained and guess what, they are both by Galileo.

    Not even close as yet.

He has a long way to go to match Sadler’s Wells and Northern Dancer. At present he is still some way behind Danehill and Mr Prospector as well. He has had very large books of mares compared to stallions of earlier generations.

But already he has gotten the best horses ever according to the acknowledged best trainers in the world. Northern Dancer never did that.

Northern Dancer did not dwell in the age of redolent hyperbole.

Northern Dancer sired Nijinsky who was regarded as the best in the world in his day and i doubt if many would regard Frankel as the best ever at this moment in time, Sae Bird II and Secretariat are holding on to that honour and he’ll have to a lot more than he has done to date to dethrone them

Northern Dancer has sired something like 150 Group winners so as the man says Gallileo has along way to go.

I am contending that Galileo gets a better class of horse. The best in the world in fact according to Sir Henry and Andre. To get the best colt and the best filly in the world in the same year is breathtaking.
