    Cape Blanco

    Lope De Vega

    Planteur
If it’s as good as I think it is, the iffy draw will not hinder it too much. A great place bet @ 4.4.

Hey UM! not a bad run from the German there…had doubts about how ‘Si’ would be settled/or if he could be? – from that draw in such a big field??

Irish – Hope that you had yr ‘Flo Jo’ there?! – If Souy had held her for any longer he’d of been accused of pulling a horse!
So much for ‘connections’ saying she’d drop back to seven…

Some good info there – all ‘Siyouni’ fans – beware that chap just said that he wasn’t a defo for the the St Jame’s Palace…

I’ve given up with listening to ‘future running plans’!! :P

Think Planteur will take all the beating here now. It looks a cracking race and one to really savour.

I’ll say it happily – I think Lope De Vega is better than Shamardal was.

Great ride from Guyon, tracked across from stall 20 and put the horse in a position where he could never lose.

Cape Blanco never in the hunt. Surprisingly one sided race and some big reputations got exposed there…

O’Brien obviously doesn’t have much to phone home about in the 3 year old division.

    WOW!

In total agreement! – So much for meeting tougher opponents!

Over the weekend we’ve seen two great looking ‘Derby’ winners!

Broke like a 6f sprinter…I admit – thought that the draw had done for him!

Was a backer last time but not today…and I’ve been banging on about this race being for the ‘Milers’! :(

Good shout to the first time poster on this thread for putting him up – and also you UM for spotting the Fabre stable star!

Disappointing how (taking the pacemaker out) first three were first three throughout. That’s not to say the winner is not a very good horse, but he had the race run to suit. I backed Planteur, beaten fair and square.

Too soon to be writing off Cape Blanco, surprised he was anywhere near favourite being lame after the Dante.

Prix du Jockey-Club: Several ways, one winner!

    :D
    At Chantilly, June 6

Each year, the best colts of 3 years rendezvous in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly. To get in shape on the day, the tactics are numerous. Some travel by conventional group, other cheminent more risky. The winner may well on all sides, even from abroad. Analysis of different paths taken by the favorites of the 2010 edition.

Since the consolidation of flat racing in 2005, the French Derby is run over the distance of 2,100 meters and 2,400 meters on either. This shorter distance makes it more difficult to decipher the test. Thus, the Milers have greater opportunities to shine than before and are able to thwart the plans of the distance specialists. Group I, Group II, Group III or-Listed Race, preparatory races are manifold. There is no single way to access the Prix du Jockey Club. The winners of the last decade are the perfect illustration. Vision d’Etat (2008) or Darsi (2006) were not the most successful of the lot but had done a very good preparation outside the box. Shamardal (2005) was able to win after his success in the Poule d’Essai des Foals. Lawman (2007), Blue Canari (2004) and Holding Court (2000) had taken the traditional path of Groups on the distance before the big day to shine.

The Milers have more luck now

The shorter the distance Jockey Club 2400 to 2100 m allows the foals who have obtained a good ranking in Pool to align itself more easily in the big meeting in June. Third Prize of Fontainebleau at Longchamp,

    A Jockey Club exceptional!

France Galop authorizes more than 20 starters!

Exceptional event, exceptional measure. France Galop has decided not to limit the number of runners in the Prix du Jockey Club this Sunday, June 6 at Chantilly. If no package is registered, 25 competitors could be the start of the prestigious event.

Considered the favorite of the Jockey Club

The champion of Elie Lellouche, planter, is busy preparing the Prix du Jockey Club, which he promises to be the favorite. According to his coach, everything is going well. "It worked well and I’m really satisfied with their preparation. He trained with other horses and everything went well. "

    Dettori on

    In Chantilly

Lanfranco Dettori in the saddle be in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on June 6. Yes but not on a Godolphin. The Italian has agreed to mount Pain Perdu, a representative of Nicolas Clement.

How strange – it was all there in this post – even the forecast!

I took the 25/1 about Planteur before the race. Generally 16/1 now.

Delighted with that effort. Beaten by a colt with enough speed to beat Dick Turpin over a mile.

Stoutly bred on the dam side of his pedigree and should relish the Arc trip.

Could take his chance in the Grand Prix De Paris, or wait for an Arc trial. Either way, I doubt he’ll be any bigger than 10/1 on the day.

Arguably the best middle distance contest for 3YOs, thus far.

If you take the third home – maybe the best long term prospect actually missed the race?

…I think he’s more likely to face Goldikova in the Jacques le Marois according to latest reports [that’s Lope de Vega]. Mr Fabre gives us quite an insight in his interview just given.

Thanks Zen.. that must have been earlier as I didn’t fancy him today given the draw :)

I think Al Zarooni must have got the message from Fabre not to bother today

It seems you’ve been correct about O’Brien’s in France… can you pick my lottery numbers this week? :)

I’d be quite surprised if Planteur could win the Arc on the evidence I’ve seen so far. His breeding doesn’t scream 12f to me either. 25/1 would be unders for me.

This was a superb performance from an outstanding mile and quarter horse in Lope De Vega but make no bones about it he wouldn’t be fighting out a finish over another 2f.

I think if you’re horse isn’t making any ground on that winner it has no hope for a step up in trip, I like the look of that Behkabad! who could be really smart stepping up in trip, also way back Ivory Land was making nice headway and could be one for the Prix Royal Oak.

Can’t have that Planteur to be honest, he was 2nd comign into the straight and remained there not having to over take a horse and drifting left under pressure, he looks very one paced and could be over bet with his form book 2nd to Lope De Vega maybe worth trying the role as front runner next with him.

Ice Blue was set alight by Ryan Moore trying take him to the outside of Planteur turning into the straight but from being half a length of Plantuer he’s gone to being 4th and headed with 3f to go and fought back well.

Definatley taking Behkabad, Ice Blue and Ivory Land out of the race for future engagements up in trip, possibly Viscount Nelson with the St Ledger.
