The going will be good by racetime and the likes of Mac Swiney and one ruler won’t get their surface they need. I imagine aiden and the lads will be very confident tomorrow if the forecast is correct. Over to you Ryan.

Saturday will be warm and drying but 11mm+ today… and counting Mickey.
Judged by the current BBC forecast 9:00 tonight still has a 52% chance of rain still falling. 10:00 PM 48%, 11:00 PM still 38%, with it gradually reducing to 21% by 2:00 AM. Single figure percentage by 5:00 AM.

I’ve heading to Epsom with a couple of coachful of drunken northern lads to water the course for Youth Spirit. Me and Balders have got this plotted reet up.

I was on Third Realm and Southern Lights each way before the draw came out, but being drawn 2 and 3 pushed me to add Youth Spirit who at least doesn’t have that problem to contend with. Maybe one of them will go on whatever the ground is like by 4.30pm.

Given today showed how hard it is to judge the weather and going conditions for the pro clerks of courses, you seem rather certain lol

Not sure it’s set in stone One Ruler needs soft ground anyway. His dam handled both. Mac Swiney perhaps wants it softer than most.

I think i’ll give Gear Up a small few pennies too, but i’ll confirm that in the morning.

All forecasts now saying sunny from morning with 20 degrees from noon till race time. It may be a bit loose on top but won’t suit soft going horses. I hope Bolshoi ballet scoots up and puts on a cracking show but you can never be sure.

Does it matter who trains it as long as it’s a very good derby. Too much whinging over Irish domination of the big races. It is what it is. My reasoning on wanting Bolshoi ballet to win is that from the trials, like snowfall, he looked the best horse and to me anyway has all the attributes to be a top 3yo. I was delighted with pyledrivers gutsy win yesterday and just hope we get a great race and winner. Folk like ms cumani moaning about aiden dominating get my wick. It should be all about the horses surely.

We may well be in the strange situation where the ballydoyle horse gets tatics used against it rather than the ballydoyle team using them today , bolsoi does have the best form but I just get the feeling he,ll get turned over , Id played a adayer at shorter prices a while back and I’d love Kirby to win this however I’m favouring southern lights e.w , easy to say he was a long way behind bolsoi last time but he took a few knocks and not knocked about after , I’ll be really interested to see how the Frankel bred horses fair today

Yeah well Coolmore dominating gets on MY wick Mickey. Each to their own, but variety is the spice of life, and competitiveness is the lifeblood of sport.

Indeed we all want competition. When Godolphin were sweeping up I didn’t hear much moaning just how good Frankie was. Try supporting a team in Scotland where one team won everything for four years. I love horse racing. That’s all that I care about.

Coolmore over The Boys IN Blue for me any day. He’s much worse.

Going stick is better at this stage than it was yesterday morning? Will be interesting to see what happens after a few races anyway. Going to wait to add my 2nd selection.

One Ruler been backed a little, and Mac Swiney weaker. I guess One Ruler through the Donny run might’ve had a case for being shorter anyway. Not certain to stay and had a look at his strides per sec, he doesn’t scream 1m4 horse but we will see.

The going stick bears out what Frankie said yesterday. Sloppy on top but firm underneath. Looks like being good going. Bb will probably go off evens or shorter.

If it is sloppy on top then the firm ground horses won’t like it.

I’d be staggered if BB went off anything other than odds against personally.
