Innisfree looks best of O’Brien’s for me. Can’t have kameko at all. Little chance he’ll stay the derby trip. Very impressed with English king and if he was trained by obrien or gosden would be very short for me. Mogul seems to have has issues so looks like a rushed preparation like his brother Japan and he could follow Japan’s career path as a late season developer. The stats for English king are very good so he’s the standout for me just now though ascot could be very informative.
June 13, 2020 at 12:11 #1490513Could be a weird Derby this year because o the circumstances.
I have had a couple of each way doubles Kameko at 10/1 for the Guineas(winner) with Armory at 25/1 and Iberia at 33/1 for the Derby. Obviously cos Kameko won that gives me a couple of tasty bets on the other two but am not sure which of AOB’s are going to turn up.
I thought Armory ran a good race last night and got seriously messed about and then stayed on. It looked like he would stay further and I just hope he turns up at Epsom!
Iberia ran well enough in the Derrintoun Stud Trial but am not sure he is good enough anyway.June 13, 2020 at 16:04 #1490558I’ve added Emissary 33-1 with a cash out option if not up to scratch. By Kingman and half brother to Workforce you would imagine if he hacked up tomorrow he will end up single figures.
June 16, 2020 at 23:53 #1491003Emissary out. Military March 11-2 in. Him or English King will win it I think the way it’s looking right now. Buick been called up to ride MM.
June 17, 2020 at 06:59 #1491017I added Armory after his Guineas 4th at 33s to my Mogul 14s. Disappointed yesterday but it’s not a normal year and you would imagine Mogul would come on tons for that. It’s a murky picture though and even Kameko comes back into now as his class could be enough if it turns out to be a weak field. I’ll leave anything else until the days before now though
June 17, 2020 at 13:51 #1491073Frenchy interestingly Armory, Mogul and Ocean Atlantique the only 3yos in the Arc at this stage.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 17, 2020 at 20:16 #1491140He’s nearly 60 on the exchanges tonight though, not a good sign
June 17, 2020 at 21:02 #1491145Early enough to follow exchange i’d say, but maybe one for Irish Derby more then?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 18, 2020 at 01:19 #1491170What are people making of Russian Emperor?
I was reasonably impressed and if he gets a decent RPR (117 or more) from his Royal Ascot win he hits all my trends. He beat the 110 rated Juan Elcarno 4+ lengths so maybe possible? Incidentally about the same distance Kameko beat the same horse in the Guineas.
In a very open looking year I am quite tempted, his pedigree is very classy as his Dam was a superstar in Australia. Already backed Mogul and Military March Antepost however, so probably waiting for the day to have another bet.
RE is just 10/1 now but not heard much reaction from pundits/forum members on his chances.
June 20, 2020 at 22:41 #1491534I’m on already and agree his pedigree is lovely. Not sure about connections being lukewarm about trip ie Ryan Moore saying he “may get further” and think trainer said something similar. Is that a Coolmore Jedi mind trick….horse looked like he needed every yard of the trip and then some and doesn’t have a great turn of foot.
Wait for “Listen, he shows so much speed…”
June 20, 2020 at 22:49 #1491535Coolmore don’t look to have a real standout but then neither has anyone else. Interesting comments about Mogul’s “two races in one” and seems they think he has the most potential but might be slightly too slow of a burner to be ready to win at Epsom.
I suppose it depends if he can get over his RA run quickly enough for them to get plenty more mental and physical work in before the big day.June 21, 2020 at 09:26 #1491554Agree with Green. In all his runs this year he looked to be just getting going at the finish. Timeform gave him 119P which is just a few pounds below what an average Derby winner got.
It looks like here or the French Derby ATM and if they did go to France maybe Fabre could do a Ruler of the world with Ocean Atlantique.
Russian Emperor: French Derby an option for Royal Ascot winner says owner

Wouldn’t be too sure about that, English King has any amount of improvement to come and Military March has mega breeding for 12 furlongs.
Some members of the racing media don’t believe AOB has anything of note to win the Derby this year due in part with rushed preparations during the pandemic and they might be right.June 21, 2020 at 11:34 #1491566I do like the look of English King and like Camelot as a sire especially over that trip- I think he will sire plenty of Derby winners.
June 21, 2020 at 16:51 #1491586I suspect Coolmore would be more than happy to see Camelot’s English King win the Derby.
I wonder whether having the favourite running for them (Coolmore) would influence the size of the squad Ballydoyle send over to Epsom?
June 21, 2020 at 18:13 #1491594Absolute minefield of a race to bet in now. Had a look at the runners and can’t pick five that you would be certain of turning up.

Interesting for Russian Emperor supporters.
