Dash of Spice has sneaked in with a low weight of 8-12, I have backed him every time this season and I will have an EW on him. I think this is my cliff horse this season.

33/1 with bet365 with BOG for Dash of Spice but I will wait to see what other bookies offer. He was down to run in a 12f handicap at York tomorrow and they have pulled him out of that to run in the Ebor.

I just looked again VTC and he is in because floating artist is a non runner. I will have my EW on him.

I went for Fujaira Prince ante-post in here. Not majorly, as I thought they would consider him away from a Handicap on his next run.

7-1 is still very fair however, and enough for me to go back in. I can’t see past him.

At 14-1, maybe Verdana Blue, or 20-1, Shailene as the each way bet.

I haven’t been keeping tabs on this race, but listened to a pod earlier + heard Pondus mentioned for it which surprised me….a quick look + there he is.

Taken 12s ew. Personally don’t think 106 is his ceiling. This trip should suit him and a nice pace also. One eye on the Melbourne cup i’d guess, and he’d need to probably win this to be considered.

I am on Fujaira Prince as I said earlier 10/1 main bet and I have had an ew on my cliff horse Dash of Spice 33/1. Timeform gives Dash of Spice a weight adjusted rating of 123? so who knows.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Dash of Spice who is bottom weight who only got in because of a non runner, runs a big race and won. A bit of dreaming going on.

Nothing that really stands out to my mind, many that have some kind of shout and looks rather tough. For the record my top three rated are:

Pablo Escobarr – Consistent in Pattern company, mark is from a Meydan handicap. Up in distance.
Scarlet Dragon – Good winner over 1m 4f at Royal Ascot. Given a bit to do at Haydock since and now stepped up in distance.
El Misk – Fairly lightly raced and generally progressive in handicaps. Another stepped up in trip.

I think the ground must have significantly deteriorated as Communique and El Misk have both come out now and Gosden’s taken his runner out of the Melrose too, all going related. I have a couple in mind for this but my main two both have stamina doubts so I’ll wait to see what the official going is in the morning, may have to change to Plan B.

I am interested to see how Monica Sherrif runs here. I liked her last season. She was progressive, won five on the spin and rounded it off with a win in a Group 3 at Saint Cloud. I might be tempted each way but I am concerned that it is a big ask on seasonal debut.

Even though it’s a totally different race to the one I used to love betting on years ago I might just revert back to my old system of backing 5 year olds.

Haggas won a Derby with a seasonal reappearance. So he can get one ready without any doubt.
Ground will suit and the fact that the last race was a group 3 win suggests the horse is very much on the up.
Age ticks the boxes, progressive and still developing. Sadly Pricewise has tipped it. So price will crash tomorrow. Matches a whole heap of trends which many of the fancied horses do not.
I’m still researching the race but so far Monica Sherrif
    Is my main choice.

Well, I seem to have come up with Jeremiah and Verdana Blue and will probably be the only person in the country to back Jeremiah. Also Euchen Glen, who I’ve already backed and Hochfeld but they have a bad draw. Will have to back Stargazer out of loyalty to the Kirby team.
